Uber Dad is great. Who else with that great personality would rescue you like he does? Always appreciate your dad, not just you Kurt, but everyone who reads this. I still miss mine after 52 years.
I'm betting you have an unloader valve leaking in the compressor head. Unbolt the governor from the compressor - leave the lines attached. Run the engine and check for air coming from the unloader port (middle of the gasket you scraped off earlier). The unloader valves can be serviced by removing the plate on top of the compressor cylinder head.
Kurt, it was a pleasure to meet you and Opie. I see it was the air dryer leaking. Hope First Class doesn`t break anything else. I`ll keep looking for you guys on 75. Stay safe.
Had to think a minute but the last time I was broke down to the point I couldn't get a vehicle mobile again was 1982. Burned up a VW engine due to the blower belt breaking. 20 miles from closest town. Nice trucker gave me a lift to next town and I called a VW repair shop and told him where the bug was and where I left the key. Asked him to tow it and I would retreive it in 3 months: I was in the Navy and you DO NOT miss your ship leaving port. Caught a bus and made it to my ship. 3 months later got back into port, took a bus back to the town where the bug was and the man only charged me for the parts. He was a veteran.
Kurt - you just got a great compliment from Trucker Josh in Manitoba on the fabulous birthday bash you did for your wife. He is trying to figure out what to do for Britt;s first "Mother's Day" and he was looking at the attention you gave to your wifes birthday! BTW, uber Dad comes to your rescue with a big smile all the time!
if you don't have an unloader valve you can take it out and clean it,most times that will work till you get a new one.i hope it is that simple for you, good luck!
I love the relationship between you and your dad. He seems to be a fine man. I hope things get a little brighter for you, so sorry about your bad luck.
Have encouraged Josh to watch Kurt smooth shift. Josh seemed to resent him being called out as a hammer jammer hair on fire late to a date a dollar short rookie. Kurt is all class smooth as silk. I quit watching Josh even when he was to be a new father. Young truckers can be hard headed and slow to learn and adjust.
@@terryanderson4366 Well I never judged a driver by the way they shift gears, besides, I've been trucking for 37 years and I've yet come across 2 drivers that drive a truck the same way. It's all about attitude for me, and what I have always got by both these guys is they love what they do, and put family first. I have watched these guys for several years and I never heard either one bad mouth the other. I believe Kurt is 42 and Josh is 36, so for me at 67 I guess I should consider both these guys as rookies. But I know better so I won't.
Kurt you jinxed me 😂 I haven’t had any break downs for a long time and my truck air warning buzzer went off today while dropping trailer off it was the air dryer !! Just watched this video last night !!
So sorry you are having a rough trip. So nice to see your dad come to the rescue. Enjoy the time together. That mistake extra root beer freeze. It took me a minute, not being a married man myself to get it. But I did. I bet they couldn't accept returns on food once handed off to a customer, even when it was their mistake. It would have been a shame to just throw it in the trash. Your dad did the honorable thing. You can't just throw away an A&W root beer freeze made by mistake, you know!
Well, the other video would have made a lot more sense had I see this one first. Y-tube didn't cue this one until today. Glad you get all fixed-up and back on track again (per the other video). A $22 part! The bird Opie was playing with was a Killdeer.
Isn't that the way it goes? And the rain just topped things off. Opie, quit chasing those poor Killdeer! I could hear them squawking at you. We still have a drive-in A & W that opens for the summer with carhops and everything. Uber Dad really is the best. Safe travels, and God bless.
Be aware that there is another air pressure relief valve on the back of the compressor. 99% of the time replacing the air governor does the trick, but the relief valve on the back cost me $3,500 to find as the problem wouldn't go away. Probably not your problem but worth checking it out.
That always worried me when I ran out west -- you go through a lot of miles before you see civilization again --- Hats off to your Dad - what an awesome man --
The very same thing happened to me on my KW and it turned out to be a blockage on the glad hand. There was some kind of buildup right on the tip of the hose.
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 We had this talk before…It’s always good to have extra parts around or in your truck! What a better place to park than a casino parking lot. Uber dad to the rescue! Having the support like that makes all the difference in the world!! I’m sure that he gets a kick out of it as well, huh?! All the time you spend with your dad is a blessing! My oldest brother was like a dad to me as well. I think about them both quite a bit! It almost sounds like a collapsed/clogged line somewhere. It’s been a long time since I’ve replaced a governor. Hopefully you will find the issue rather quickly. Don’t forget the trailer as well. Blessings my friend!🥰🥰✌️
I relate to Kurt's dad, being closer in age to him than to Kurt. Uber Dad pitches back every bit of sh!t Kurt gives him. It is all in fun. I had that same relationship with my dads, and my grandfather...it was good fun, always respectful.
I know how you feel , I got to do the same thing in the morning. Yesterday was my 19th wedding anniversary. I respectfully ask for a shout out in your next video. Be safe.
Good days and bad days. Great that you can make a emergency ☎️📞 when needed. It's okay if pops say a few 🤬 every now and then. The 🥤was a diabetic shake 😉. Good luck on 1st Class 🧰 🚛
It is ok if your dad cusses a little, I spent 43+ years in a bus/truck shop, I’ll be fine. Replace the dryer Kurt. By the looks of the box, it has a spin on cartridge style. They are fine except just spinning on a new desiccant cartridge only fixes part of the problem. The internal parts should be rebuilt too. And on those type it usually doesn’t get done and now there is a valve stuck or leaking. I prefer a Bendix AD-9 air dryer. It has to be disassembled to change the desiccant cartridge but then you can clean the valve body and check the heater, pretty simple IMO. Sure is nice your dad could come help you out. My dad passed in 1998, and there isn’t a day goes by I don’t think about him. Good luck
Well the casino had a real good buffet back in my day, maybe that's still an option. Know I'd be drying my sorrows in food! Hope your mechanican goes well!
I’m sorry you’re broke down, even though I know it’s an occasional part of trucking, but I still hope you get it all fixed up really soon! If I had a way to get there to help you with it, I would be there asap- even though I live in Vermont! May God Bless & be with you and your family, throughout this ordeal and always! Best to you all!
Been there, did that. Didn't like it. My compressor was less than a year old. My lines were plugged. Changed the lines, and dryer filter. Good to go. Good luck to you Kurt. My wife and I keep up with you.
Geez 🙄 Hope you get ole “First Class” repaired soon Kurt. I’m having a hydraulic issue with the TrailEZE trailer I pull behind the 2005 Peterbiit I drive lately. Thinking it may have air in the hydraulic line or it’s bypassing someplace?🤔💁♂️ Only the hydraulic cylinder on the tail is my issue. So we’re kinda both in limbo at the moment. Anyways, great to see your dad coming to the rescue like my 89 yr old dad does sir.
Hi Kurt. I had the same problem about two years ago. And all I did was change the air dryer and the was the fix for me. It was on a isx x15 Cummins. Hopefully it fixes your problems. Keep your head up. Keeping you in my prayers.
I had the valve on my air dryer lock up, and it would kick the safety Check valve off on the compressor and wouldn't build air. Put a new dryer on and haven't had any issues
I don't know how many times I have replace air governor and dryer on the old garbage trucks we had in our company it was one or two times a month one would go out and sounds like you have blocked dryer or stuck valve on your compressor great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and stay safe
What a bummer. So glad you have Uber Dad. Hope you get rolling again soon. Quick question... Have you been inside the Casino ? They probably have a great buffet... .. Just a thought.
Uber Dad is great. Who else with that great personality would rescue you like he does? Always appreciate your dad, not just you Kurt, but everyone who reads this. I still miss mine after 52 years.
His dad is the best. He really has an amazing family. Lucky man
I consider myself fortunate that I had two dads.
One went to his next life in 2001, the other in 2016.
I miss them both every day.
The bird sounded like a killdeer. The ones that nest in gravel and stone parking lots. Thank God for Dads!
Thank goodness for Uber dad's, quite a few of us don't have that luxury 😀
Uber dad has earned his float & aburger!
HELLO KURT THANK GOD FOR DAD !! BE BLESSED STAY SAFE ! GREAT VIDEO ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🐾🐾🐾❤️🐾🐾🐾🚂🚂🚂
Your Dad is awesome man, nothing like the love of a Dad to his son. Miss mine every day. Cherish the moments with him buddy.
Uber dad is great!!!God bless him!!
I think the whatchamacallit went bad.

Ummm you know these aren't live.....??
@@Brian-jk2ih Yes, I do.
Trucker Josh gave you a big shoutout today on his channel. Best dad ever!
Kurt, you are lucky to have your Dad! He is a great guy! Cherish! Mine has been gone for 18 years and I sure miss him.
Kurt, it was a pleasure to meet you and Opie. I see it was the air dryer leaking. Hope First Class doesn`t break anything else. I`ll keep looking for you guys on 75. Stay safe.
Uber Dad is the best ever, good luck with those repairs Kurt.

First Class is letting you sit a lot lately. Uber Dad is a blessing
Dad calling you out! 🤣 Always carry extra parts! Buy two when you need one... if it's a rather low cost part.
You are fortunate to have your dad!
Uber Dad to the rescue 💪 A.k.A The Cussing machine! Awesome video 🤣
if you don't have an unloader valve you can take it out and clean it,most times that will work till you get a new one.i hope it is that simple for you, good luck!

When it rains, it rains hard.... Pun intended! You got this my friend! Greetings from the great state of Maine!
Sorry that happened Curt. Your pop seems like a great guy. Hang in there sir.
Glad U got it goin
Those birds were probably Killdeers. They fake a broken wing to protect the nest, hoping you will run after them.
That look his dad had was priceless when he haned his knife back😂.
Trucker Josh had some great things to say about you. I couldn't agree with him more.
Have encouraged Josh to watch Kurt smooth shift. Josh seemed to resent him being called out as a hammer jammer hair on fire late to a date a dollar short rookie. Kurt is all class smooth as silk. Good to see you got your A&W this time!😎
Change the air filter put alcohol thru all your lines drain your air tanks by hand make sure you get all the residue out of your lined good luck

Breaking down in the middle of nowhere really sucks! Hope your plan works out expeditiously
Go inside the casino and maybe you get lucky and hit the jackpot 💸💸💸💸. God bless and hope you and Opie get rolling soon
I bet he went in there for sure
Good morning from waterloo ia ..uber dad is the best.. u are blessed
Amazing as always. God bless you all
My family used to do a lot of business in Holton,KS definitely not a lot out that way but the view is hard to beat glad Uber Dad could save you.
Get-ur-done Uber dad! God Bless you all. Sorry to hear you missed Troy's meet. Glad he did so well. Continued Prayers ✌❤ from Ogden Iowa.

Uber Dad, I cuss all the time. 😂 Marines taught me well. SFMF

Sounds like the air dryer is gone bad
the bird are call Kill deer.. kansas version of the Road Runner!
Been there, did that. Didn't like it. My compressor was less than a year old. My lines were plugged. Changed the lines, and dryer filter. Good to go. Good luck to you Kurt. My wife and I keep up with you.
Scotch bright pad works good to scrub dried bug guts off windshield, don't forget to spray it first
Uber Dad, you are the MAN !

Was thinking the same thing, the dryer got something plugged up in it
also your truck is running good
Must be a place for the nice hooded awesome trucks park
I would try to bypass the air dryer
I had the valve on my air dryer lock up, and it would kick the safety Check valve off on the compressor and wouldn't build air. Put a new dryer on and haven't had any issues

Love Uber dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep your chin up you will find the problem and get it fixed good luck and have a wonderful day.
That's a killdeer brid, they play hurt hoping to get you away from their nest
Hahaha uber dad said “sh$t” 😂
Hey kurt, hope it a minor air issue n its nothing really major. Stay safe n see ya all next time
Kurt I hope you get it fixed soon and get back on the road. Ps It’s Harley time 😊
Somebody tell Opie to cheer up, it could be worse!
Man sorry what going thru been there when I was on the road years ago . Quit over the road and went local then retired . Prayers are with You .
You drove 440 miles Mr. Schmidt.......... You're due a cuse word or two
Sorry! Hope you get it fixed! Thanks for sharing! Let us know what happens
22 dollars thought everything for a truck was at least 222.00 dollars. Good you have mechanical skills. Some youtube truckers just drive.
Bet you never thought you'd make half dozen trips thru Holton, KS in one day.
You Owe Uber Dad $$$ For Road Services Nice Video Emergency 😀
What a bummer. So glad you have Uber Dad. Hope you get rolling again soon. Quick question... Have you been inside the Casino ? They probably have a great buffet... .. Just a thought.
It was nice the casino let you park there long term....it might have been a different story in a bigger community... (just a casual observer)
Unloader in the compressor.
We call them “killdeer”. They usually make their nest in gravel. Run a lot then fly.
Yep… and killdeer will swoop down at you when they have young babies nearby
