I love a lot of the ideas in skate art. Just wish there was more technical skills being presented in the art. Often times it's very rough but maybe that just matches skateboarding itself
@@Nomad_Skateboarding Look Todd has decent skills but seems to not be great at depicting the human figure. And Ed has a complete lack of understanding of form and anatomy. I would say Todd is quite honestly probably industry average, and Ed used his name plus contacts to move around in the industry. Because in all honesty Ed's paintings and illustrations are beginner level. You can not honestly say that he is good at representational art. And even if he is trying to do that realism with a graphic background it was already done in the 19th century by Manet. Skate art just doesn't have the technical backing to it. Sure it's interesting and cool but I just wish they would develop their skills.
@@Nomad_Skateboarding Yeah and there are thousands of draftsmen who can draw better than him. Look I don't think Todd has the skills to be a concept artists or a classical studio artists. And stop talking down to me like I know nothing. I understand that you want to support artists you like but don't suggest the delisuion that any of those artists could even hold a pencil to the likes of Leyendecker or Moebius. .
Spanky’s art is dope. Very inspirational.
