My husband will be starting chemo next week and I have a clean organized home that I constantly work on, but now that we are going to be in our home 24/7 I’m going through another major declutter to calm our entire home. What a peaceful time actually. I’ve created our deck full of flowers, hummingbird feeders and beautiful butterflies. Wherever my husband might be resting he sees a peaceful beautiful space where he can heal.

I really enjoyed this post! As a 70+ woman with some health issues living in a semi - arid high plain I decided to dress like people who live in the desert during summer 2024. Cool cotton pants, lightweight tank top, and a "duster" or kimono with sandals. I'm comfy and feel like I look fine. :)

I'm am currently retired, and I don't have the bandwidth. Due to life/health events with husband and a sister I think I have decision fatigue. My brain hurts 😢
I am by no means a minimalist but I have simplified my clothes and my house to fit my season of life. I so enjoy watching both of your channels and this old lady (I’m now 72) learns so much from y’all!
Same. My decluttering has come in waves, many onion layers, for different reasons at different times. More and more my ladybug tendencies coming out 😉

I have all black pants for winter and all black capris for summer. I have all black socks. I have the same shirt in different colors. I now know what I will wear. I buy clothes on sale but only what I know I will wear. I don’t experiment with clothes anymore. Because I wear black pants and socks whatever shirt I have clean goes with my pants. This makes me happy. I do laundry every 6 days. I hang all my clothes except socks and underwear. I can look at a glance what I have to wear and when I need to do laundry. This all makes my life easier. Thank you so much.

Boring
Even though it's not in your "color palette", I think you look nice in the black top. We don't need to be restricted on what colors we "should" wear. Who says so??? You would look pretty in so many colors. You know if a color makes you happy. If you feel good in an item of clothing, no matter if it's your" color" or not, wear it! Feeling good in your clothes is the goal :)

Cross body bags are the best for anyone that has issues with their back or shoulders, the stress isn’t pulling on one shoulder.
Minimalism is so much easier to manage. Everyday something gets out in Goodwill box or trash.
I love your channel. Teal is the color I get so many compliments when I wear it. I’m 82 and love life, work about 16 hours a week, just got back from vacation with husband daughter granddaughter and great grandson. We 4 generations had a blast. Went to Pikes Peak on the cog train, it was wonderful.
I digitized and started to track my wardrobe usage, and I am essentially wearing the same 5 items of clothing, three pairs of shoes and three earrings over and over again during the summer. I might be an outlier, but I find that the fewer things I have the happier I am.
Diana, maybe black is not your color but the top you are wearing is so elegant on you.

I watched a bunch of vids on color pallet a few years back. I learned you don't really need to stress about summer, autumn, spring, winter. Mostly it's important if you're cool or warm toned. Cool tone, you have blue veins & pinkish skin. Warm you have green veins & more yellow skin. A few people are kinda both tones, think some olive skin? Basically warm colors have a base more yellow & cool colors are based more blue. Look at all the browns & you can see some lean yellow/green, and others you can see the blue/purple tone. Figure out warm or cool, then pick from that side of the aisle, saturated or pastel, it all works, depending on what looks good on you or you like better. It will change how you shop.
.Even some Yellows lean blue & blues that can lean yellow/green. Think acid yellow & teal. Look up a color wheel that points out warm & cool colors.
When I worked, I had my Monday dress/outfit, my Tuesday dress/outfit, etc. I always looked very nice, but did not & do not enjoy picking out clothing from my closet or a store. The five working outfits rule served me well, I called them my 'uniforms.' You gals are GREAT! ❤

Simplifying my wardrobe has been massive. Being intentional and only keeping items that fit right now and are for my current season. It makes such a difference to be able to grab and go

I needed summer clothes but I realized after I bought them it was fantasy not practical or everyday so I took everything back . I them did what you a basic uniform for summer easy and of course what I realized what I returned I would never have wore the clothes anyway. So lesson learned.
This unfortunately doesn't really work when being pregnant and then postpartum😢 it's at least 1,5 year of constant body change and the seasons doesn't help 😂
@@ewaem8519 ❤️ constant rapid changes like that suck for the wardrobe but how exciting to be growing your family. I've found it so helpful to only have clothes that fit in my wardrobe, so perhaps a few few labeled boxes for clothes that don't fit at the moment but hopefully will in the near future. Just so it's not a lottery each morning.
May I suggest something that worked for me. I found some cotton t shirt dresses and I wore them multi seasons and also I looked for clothes at sales,thrift and friends and kept a few sizes even though I wore the same thing acessories added makes it feel fresh and new.

This is SO cool. I just found your video that came out about struggling with anger: it really hit me as a Christian mom I have been struggling with blowing my top too often. I thank Jesus for me coming across your video. While watching I thought how much you reminded me of the minimalist I watch and then after the video ended I see this! I did the same when the warm weather came…uniform for day, for exercise, for sleep, for being social. So much less effort and makes my weeks more manageable. I did the same with menu planning, groceries, and skincare….Im having a great and relaxing summer🎉
I'm a blue-eyed/redhead/warm autumn, too! I had my colors done in the 90s as a teenager (it was a big thing then). Holding up the teal shirt made such a huge difference in your complexion! I get the most compliments when I wear dark teal and mustard yellow.
I have a RUclips ministry, too, and was feeling very convicted about holding onto material possessions as a security blanket in life. I’m so excited to see you make the same connection concerning faith and decluttering/minimalism! ❤

This makes me feel better about my 20 something year old dresses I have to wear, in my closet. They are still nice but....they have to do.
I’m a two of everything too! If I find something that’s comfortable then it’s two. Two jeans, two cargo pants, two pairs of shorts, T-shirts etc except for a few dressier tops - maybe three. That’s it! Then I do also have office wear, so along with the dressier tops I have three pairs of pants that are formal! A couple of Jackets and some cardigans that I wear. Still decluttering the left over clothes. Test driving (as per Dawn) minimal wardrobe and kitchen so far, and it’s changed my life!!! Thank you both for your inspiration (I’m a (lady) - can you tell I’m from the UK? - lay minister in the Anglican Church, which means I don’t get paid haha, but my Christian background is varied, and also missions. Love what you are both doing - it’s ministry!
Diana, you can wear ANY color if you add a scarf with a color that compliments your skin tone between the shirt and your face.

You both are entertaining and inspiring. I enjoy both channels😍 Diana, later last year I decided to read my devotionals first thing in the morning rather than bedtime. I resisted this for years but gave it a try and it surprised me and I enjoy it more not less. In January I decided to read the bible in a year for the second time through the YouVersion Bible app and it’s been wonderful. I had done this 2 or maybe it was 3 years ago and that first time through impacted me greatly and this time is even more so. Reading the Bible daily now feels cemented into my daily routine. I should add that I am retired and lack the stresses you young ladies are experiencing so life in general for me does not compare to the stage of life so many of you are in. Anyway, thank you for your encouraging content! God bless and keep you.
During Covid, I only had 10 pieces of summer clothes, I was going to go spring shopping and then Covid hit, of course I was home a lot, but it was eye opening how manageable and easy it was, since then I have now been following the 33 piece wardrobe, and always look like I am wearing something different everyday..
A friend and I went and had our colors done probably 40 years ago. I still stick to that color palette. I'm a Summer. So vibrant jewel tones for me, no yellow or cream undertones to other shades. She's a Spring, so she gets the pastels. I still have the little pack of fabric swatches we were given.
I'm a Winter & still have my fan of colours from decades ago! I've stuck to them, too, & get lots of compliments on the colours I wear.

Welcome to my life! lol! I have THREE t-shirts! 3 jeggings (2 denim and one black), One pair of shorts and 3 sundresses! I decided that I wanted to lean more to sundresses rather than shorts this summer. I also have One pair of sandals and One purse!
I worked at a bank in the 70’s and as a teller we had specific uniforms for each day of the week. The only decision we got to make was whether we would wear the white, gold, or red blouse with our blue uniform. I think that on Friday’s before a holiday we were allowed to dress as we pleased, but there were a lot of us that just opted for the uniform because it was easier. And I was the first teller open in the drive thru so I had to be ready for the cars that were lined up waiting for me at 7am. Banker’s hours weren’t what I had, lol.

I do not clothes shop! The last thing I bought was at Walmart. I was grocery shopping and I walked past a clearance rack and saw the cutest sweater for only $3! (I don't buy home decor either!)
I'm a mother of twins! (my twins are 34 yrs old now). Because my hands were always full, I started carrying a cross-body purse - and I've never gone back!

Eight years ago, I had had my daughter’s family living with us for several weeks. The day they moved out I knew I needed to take some “me” time to recover from the stress. I decided to stop at 7-11 and get a RedBox movie and some donuts. Every Single Time I drive by that 7-11 I am tempted to go in and buy some donuts! I don’t do it, but the thought is still there! Crazy, isn’t it?
I wear basically the same thing everyday now that I’m 57. I have linen summer dresses. Or linen shorts with a t shirt. Winter it’s black leggings and a sweater! 2 jackets in different colors. Makes my life soooooooooo easy!

I found a flattering black tshirt at Old Navy. I liked it so much I went back and got 4 more. I literally wear it every day for most of the year. I do make an effort to wear a bit of colour in the summer, just so I don't look too morose 😂

Diana I love the hot pink and red shirt and the one just like it that’s blue and white that we’re hanging in your closet. So pretty and fun. I have never had my clothes colors done but I found nursing sure that I love on Amazon and I have like every color. It’s just a flattering shirt on me and I bought a bunch other nursing shirts that cost more money and didn’t look as good on me so I went back to the other one.

Culvers is now in Atlanta and I love it! I go there once a week and order a kid's meal then sit in the parking lot while I slowly eat the meal and listen to an audiobook. A great way to get away from distractions and relax.
I feel like you may be different colours to eachother. On camera Diana looks more cool toned and Dawn more warm toned. Im no expert though 😂 you are both beautiful ❤️

My recent summer uniform is a romper I got off Amazon. I bought 3 of them they are super comfy to clean in! And they have pockets to I can put stuff in that need to go in another room or small pieces of trash etc
I use to wear bike shirts and white t-shirts around the house and to clean in.
Then I wear different clothes when I go out. I can wear the romper to the store though, it cute and enough!
I have paired down my wardrobe quite a bit over the years.

Thank you! I find myself too hooked up on things that don’t really matter. I have kind of lost my moments with God lately. So thank you for bringing me back to it and thanks for the prayer ❤ I also recall a phrase from the Bible where Jesus says not to worry about what you’ll wear or eat. Just look at the birds. They don’t harvest, they trust on what they are given each day.

I never do stripes going across because it makes me look bigger than I am. If I do stripes, I wear them going down. I was tested for my colors at 18 and I am definitely a winter. Jewel tones ate my best colors.

Add a hair tie. Saddle loop it (I believe) and have the loop catch the top button. It should add a bit more space but also be easy to undo.
Yes we deserve things that fit nice but this is a $1-$2 option max should you really need a bit more breathing room.
Plus it saves from the awkward front of jeans poke out.
Although I have some stupid jeans that do that when fully done up normal. Infuriates me cause it’s a bump there I don’t want all due to the triangle end. Should you have those jeans that won’t be solved but if it’s just noticeable when open, yes do try the hair tie.
This is so inspiring that I can find a few key pieces for each season while maintaining a smaller inventory. I definitely was over complicating it for myself lol Thanks, ladies!

I think if they both had their natural hair color, we'd think a different season for them. And I think they're the same season... I've been wondering about bright winter.
