What do you care most about in a casino? Table Games, Slot Variety, Sports Book, Table Minimums, restaurants?
@@robsab531 haha fair enough. There are a lot of walk-through channels out there that just show the location without any editorializing. I like to offer more information and context than just visuals, but there is definitely room for both I think. Thanks for your feedback. I’ll add more b-roll on future videos.
Blackjack tables
Aesthetic appeal and food & beverage prices
All your videos are very well done!
Great info. Thanks!
You were talking about the restaurants. Harvey's used to have Top of the Wheel, it was Hawaii type decor. Great place to watch the sunset.
And Harrahs had the Summit. Both were high end restaurants.I Have to say, being an ex employee of Harrah's Tahoe back in the mid 70's (1976-1981). I am greatly disappointed how Lake Tahoe has lost it's soul. Tahoe used to be a fun place with loads of excitement, no matter the time of day, The cabaret was enclosed in the same location as the current venue, but they had decent entertainment. I remember seeing the likes of BB King, Paul Revere and the Raiders and many more. Harrahs also had a Showroom with top nothch entertainers. To name a few, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, John Denver and many more. Now it is just another casino town, except the crowds are overwhelming to the point it has destroyed the ambiance.
@@1kenodave1 The South Shore room! I saw Frank, Sammy, Glenn Campbell, Wayne Newton, the list goes on! And then the parents would send us into the arcade for an hour or two. Good times 👍
Thx guy. Going there next week. Your video helped
great stuff! harvey’s is my first gambling spot at age 18 in the mid 80’s.
Great realness to your video, and you are nice on the eyes:)
Haha well thank you!
Your video has me leaning towards Harrahs... See you there perhaps:)
Very nic info perfect
I happened to be at the Blue while they were still remodeling, I got a buzz and hit max nickel bet on a twister machine by mistake and hit a jackpot.
Out of all the casino tours I have seen yours is the best. you actually talk! Your info was great. My brother is blind and I’m taking him to Tahoe and Reno. You described everything perfect! Thank you. Let me know if you have any Reno casino reviews.
Thanks for the kind words! I’ve never been to the casinos in Reno, but I’ll try to squeeze in that video next time I make the trip to Tahoe.
The Peppermill is by far the best Reno has to offer.
All your videos are good work. I was working there in 90's. at that time all casinos has table games with real dealers and open 24/7. I can see there business has been slowed down quite a bit. Hope it will become better again.
Mont Bleu use to be Caesars, but it is Ballys now 🎉
Hard Rock used to the Sahara back in the 70's but has changed hands many times. Elvis Presley played there in 1976, my first year in Tahoe.
Very well made vid, especially with the ability to sqeeze all this in the vid. I wish you'd have gone a night tho, seems weird seeing the casino without people. Other than that not bad man, not bad at all.
I agree we like both of them
I worked for Harrah's back in 1982... Back then, all casino floors were open 24/7. Another odd fact is the Nevada- California state line runs right through Harrah's property. Part of the hotel is in California and the casino floor is in Nevada.
Where do people live that work in that area
The entrance to Harrahs was on the border. California did not have legalized gaming back then, so the entrance was a few feet within Nevada's border. When you walked in, you saw one of four keno games. Harrahs had the orange, white, Red and the Gold game which was located in the North Club, within the site of the former Barney's Casino, which Harrah's bought out. Gone are the gorgeous college girls who worked as keno runners, dealers and other departments for the summer, before returning to college in the fall.
A trip down memory lane for me, it's ashame what has happened to Tahoe and Reno, pretty close to being ghost towns, I happened to be there in 1980 when Harveys had the bomb threat and it actually blew up, too much gambling all over the country now, it really did kill all of Nevada ☹️
Yes, but Harrah's and Harvey's are doing nothing about it. Never have. The employees have complained about the drop in people once the closeby Indian casinos opened in '03 and '08. Yet the games STILL don't pay better, the video poker is still atrocious, and their room, food, and free play rules totally suck. Getting people back to Stateline is easy if they really wanted to.
Advice, judge all things whether they're casinos, restaurants, hotels on an even scale like going at the same time to each one before you put one above the others..morning's are not the best time to judge casinos..😊
Hi I'm new to the channel 😊 I'm truly enjoyed your commentary and videos. I was wondering do you ever go out East to Atlantic City (in which I just left a couple of weeks ago) I thought it was great mind you. I wished I would've went in warmer weather tho...so I could've truly enjoyed the Boardwalk. BTW I'm a table player Blackjack and Craps are my favorite. I'll be in Vegas again for New Year's Eve for about a week... I'll be staying at the Luxor have you ever stayed there by chance?
Thank you! I haven’t been to Atlantic City but I just finished a visit to the Harrah’s in North Carolina (video coming soon) and I frequent casino’s in Florida and Mississippi, as well as Vegas. I’ve not been to the Luxor, but I follow a few channels that specialize in Vegas. Travel Ruby, Pompsie, and Coolist luxury hotels all have content about the Luxor I believe.
@@crews_reviews Ty but I do subscribe to all those you named lol... I especially love The Coolist yes I've seen his review on the Luxor... I just wanted to get your take on it. BTW do you ever go to Tunica, Miss. ... I've been to Biloxi and stayed at the Beau Rivage it was pretty nice 🙂 I play the tables only or I'll just say primarily. I only dabble in slots when I'm kicking it with my BFF she loves the slots I DON'T! lol My two main games are BJ and Craps I love to play the feature games on the tables... I'm talking about the different side bets. I'm going to continue to follow you and see what you got cooking up 😆
Too bad the Lakeside Inn closed. I really liked that casino.
Originally named Harvey's Inn as it was part of Harvey's, which was separate from Harrah's at the time.
It breaks my heart that it closed. SO many wonderful memories there!
Not Hard Rock anymore ! Just got bought by Golden Nugget 🎉
Mont Blue used to be Bill’s casino. They were a lot more relaxed atmosphere, they used to play great rock ‘n’ roll music and you could bet at a two deck blackjack table for two dollars a bet weekdays and early on the weekends. It was great.
Montblue wasn't Bill's. Bill's is a small casino next door. Montblue was Caesars until 2006.
@@JBlinky67 ok, I stand corrected. What’s Bill’s now?
Nope he used to be Caesars and now Bally
Harveys is actually the largest casino in Lake Tahoe.
Don’t play fake blackjack. Don’t play 6-5 blackjack and don’t play continuously shuffled blackjack either
💯on not playing 6/5 blackjack but unless a player is a card counter continuos shuffle blackjack is all good.
Do any casino's gove free drinks while playing
Lakeside was our favorite for many years, allll gone now…
Lakeside was good There is no hard rock no more it’s called the Golden Nugget casino.
The best casino here is the casino in which you win the most $$$$$$$$$$$$$
Does the Harris casino give free drinks while you play on slit machines? In Tahoe
Yes
What do you think of living in the Birmingham area?
I like it, especially when it isn’t the summer 😂 it’s very hot and humid down here right now, but it’s also a lot less expensive than basically any other mid-sized city in America, so you have more money to travel 😛
My mom and dad is from Bessemer,Ala. right outside of Birmingham... I was made down there but my mom moved to Chicago when she was pregnant with me 😂... I have plenty of relatives in BAMA 😂😂
Caesars Entertainment owns a large percentage of Nevada casinos, and they are all low quality, you'll get better rooms at a Motel 6. On top of that the housekeeping staff will steal from your room
What month did u do for this video
February
Horizon = Hard Rock = Golden Nugget , Ceasers = Mont Bleu = Bally’s, Harrahs = Harrahs, Harvey’s = Harvey’s, Lakeside Inn = Barton Hospital.
Bro everyone is outside on lake during the day 😂
I stayed at Harveys that was a big mistake
The most common reason people come to Lake Tahoe is for the outdoor activities, not for this casino. My family takes Lake Tahoe over Sincity any day.
You were saying that Harvey's was growing on ya, well I'm prejudice cause I had the chance to work there before those creeps bombed it.
3:04 - "That is HARRY'S?" Dude you have zero cred.....It's called HARVEY'S........
You’re acting like you did not keep listening after he said that. 😂
You should have done some more research. Montblanc is transitioning owners. It will soon be a Bally's. The disarray you see is the process of rearranging. Harrah's and Harvey's are considered casino by people in the know and locals both are owned by Ceasars.
By law minimums have to be on every table game in use you probably didn't look hard enough. And why on earth would you do a review at 9 in the morning and on a weekday at that?
Thanks for your feedback. I saw The Bally’s announcement after releasing the video, but I doubt the casino floor got a lot more games after the transition. The Harrah’s and Harvey’s were fine, but as a casino regular, I found the Hard Rock to be more Vegas-like and enjoyable for a non-local. That’s just my opinion though. This was a vacation for me, so I didn’t want to spend multiple hours doing a video when the wife is with me at night 😂. Minimums only have to be posted when the tables are open I believe. If the tables are closed, they don’t always have minimums listed, at least not clearly.
@@crews_reviews that's what I meant about the minimums. I think you'll be surprised when Bally's converts. It's a legacy property. The appeal of Tahoe and Reno is that it's not Vegas. What nit put your wife in the videos. Bet you would get more views.
No offense dude but your video seemed thrown together. Full disclosure; I have only seen the one of your videos. Tou ever check out Jacob's life in Vegas or Pompsie, that's how it's done. You say your a casino regular? Have your experiences been mostly on cruise ships or land based casinos.
@@philmakris8507 You are one critical son of a biscuit eater.
You are correct as minimums change throughout the day, so they will only be posted when games are open.@@crews_reviews
Never play computerized table games
The Hard Rock is the worst casino in all Nevada! It hasn't been remodeled and the rooms, lobby and elevators and pool are filthy. It's always dark like they're closed. All the employees seem like they hate their jobs.
For the area minimum if I want to gamble/party I'll go to reno or Vegas. I go to Tahoe for the activities during day and like to kill a few hours in the casino at night. Harras having the same min as Mgm properties is ridiculous
@@buckeye9252 Hmmm I too was surprised about the Harrah's having such high minimums. It's NOT like it's a high end casino or something SMH. As you've said you'll probably expect that at a Bellagio or Mandalyn Bay huh. To be real Lake Tahoe casinos are sorta of pricey the tables that is.
You're handsome af
Harrah's and Harveys need to be remolded .tryed peppermill Reno never went back!
Monte blue smells like soap when you walk in.
