I don't know why I get pummeled with this. I did step for step and get a fault when vanilla fix goes to open saying extract into same directory as WoW.exe. I titled the file WoW.exe says it can't find it. Weird!
Holy shit vanilla-tweaks actually fixed the issues I had with twow. Somehow the game would start to stutter after a while but with this patch it doesn't anymore
There is a modern graphics patch with MPQ files that has new character models that you can use but I didn't have it on here. reshade cas.fx sharpens old graphics up pretty nice and you just install reshade with Vulkan API as the option. WoW classic can leverage cas.fx with a sharpen command. If you have an ATI GPU it's right in the driver and can be nice in games (radeon image sharpening i think is what it was called). On Nvidia you just supersample with DLDSR and smoothing is sharpness setting. You can combine DLDSR with DLAA to which gives you the best picture possible on modern games. That about sums up sharpening and super sampling :).
Can you explain nampower a little better, you just say like drag to folder, or extract, but on the github there is a load command. Like from 4:03 in the video to 4:58, that section should be a lot more clear.
@@hackintosh3899 the only files i see in the nampower archive are a few text files and 3 folders: .github, loader, and nampower. extract all that? or...? (i also read somewhere that vanilla fixes now includes nampower on its own. can you confirm it's no longer needed separately?)
Make sure vanillafixes.exe is in the same directory as the wow.exe. When you extracted it you probably got it in a folder where the wow.exe is. You want all these files in the same directory as wow.exe. So simply drag them over. The instructions are pretty much create a backup of the wow.exe and name it something like wowbackup, exe. This way you can always start at step 1 (though you may have to patch the game by logging in first). You drag Wow.exe on vanillatweaks and you should get wowtweaked.exe. Rename it wow.exe so vanillafixes can find it. Launch the game with vanillafixes.exe. Nampower is automatically loaded by just being in the directory. Hope it helps.
I checked DXVK pages and on this thread it seems inside small areas where the FPS spikes to absurd levels this can happen because the client is so easy to run. github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/3129 Simply set a FPS limit in the driver. On AMD I believe you do it with the Radeon Chill entry for the game. On Nvidia you just change the cap. On Nvidia and Gsync I run the ultra low latency option and vsync and gsync set globally and it seems to give the best in game latency because it can run at the actual fps cap of the monitor. If you aren't sure about all that just cap FPS at 1-3 below the monitor until you get no clipping. There is no advantage to running FPS faster than your monitor can display. Gsync/Freesync and not going over the monitor cap is all you want.
For anyone who gets a false positive from Windows Defender it's due to any modification of a .exe file resulting in triggering Defender. It does not have a virus and this is a problem with many similar mods on PC and most pirated software. The easy way around this while still keeping a PC secure is to whitelist a directory to not delete the file here are the instructions for Windows. I whitelist my entire c:\games directory because I like modding and install all games under it. support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/add-an-exclusion-to-windows-security-811816c0-4dfd-af4a-47e4-c301afe13b26 The modifications of Vanilla fixes and Tweaks to the EXE include memory modification due to the limit on legacy 32 bit programs. This is the same kind of modding we did on old games like Mass Effect (before the remaster) to be able to install texture mods without memory crashes. The only risk you take when playing Turtle WoW is having the same username, password as other important things you use because data can even be breached at billion dollar companies (like Microsoft). NEVER use the same username or password for a private server. Create a throwaway email like protonmail or something.

Can try capping fps to 1-2 below monitor or use gpu specific technologies like ultra low latency on nvidia that do it and can be combined with gsync. At super high framerates things can get glitchy with the old client.
Sounds like Vsync which is why it cuts in half. Turn it off in game, set a cap in the GPU driver and use freesync/gsync or some kind of adaptive sync if you lack a variable refresh rate monitor. Both AMD and Nvidia have these options in their drivers. It keeps a Vsync unless you dip under the 100 and then it will turn Vsync off instead of you dipping to half the framerate.
Do u happen to have the right zip file for "vanillafixes"? The one am trying to download has troja virus, and microsoft defender stops the downloadning from completing.
They should have a link to it on the official reddit in a sticky post. If it flags that it's a false positive because it has a dll file. MS is not a fan of Vulkan API because their entire OS monopoly revolves around people using Direct X.
You have to add an exception for vanillafixes it injects the wow.exe with something which windows looks at as a virus or w.e Idk all the technical jargon lol
Any executable that has been modified will get a false positive from Windows Defender. You can whitelist a directory in Windows so Defender let's it though. Awesome :). You may have to cap fps in the driver or RTSS to avoid some bugs though. With a really good computer super high fps can result in glitches.
How does Vanilla Fixes work in conjunction with the Launcher?
Holy shit this works perfectly!
Game actually runs normally now. Thank you!

yeah i got the same error! did you ever fix it?
@johnnydrakos6407 negative. Actually whichever is the one that let's you one click auto look is working? But the frame rate performance one isn't.
ok i fix it by changing the name of WoW.exe to just WoW hope it works
@luismatheu4496 omg ill try this
wow that worked! thank you@@luismatheu4496
Thank you for this video! the eyestrain I was getting almost made me quit lol. This saved my eyeballs.
great video solved my issues with my refresh rate being stuck at 85 and made my game gorgus !
while and after closing the exe, my windows is has a dark tint. only goes away when i restart the monitor?
Holy shit vanilla-tweaks actually fixed the issues I had with twow. Somehow the game would start to stutter after a while but with this patch it doesn't anymore
Awesome! Have fun :)
is there a way for me to use the superwow launcher with this?
Thanks man, you are awesome! I was worried that I could not play turtle wow with a decent pc xD
what addon are you using that makes your graphics look more modern?

Nampower works automatically when you launch the game with vanillafixes. Unzip the files to the wow.exe directory.

when i extract fixes to wow folder and run the ice cream is says its not extracted to the same directory

the problem is that the character model disappears while inside buildings, caves, what not.
