Hi, Ask A RDC here, and in this video, we go over the PFA, Battle Stations, Graduation, and what the extra two weeks of bootcamp are. Leave a comment below if you have any questions or video suggestions. Hooyah Navy!

I'm shipping out to boot camp on July 25th! I'm scared and excited all at once, as a 31 yr old who was not very physically active over the last 10 years I have been striving to get myself prepared for this. Love the video showing what to expect and what goes on in those 2 weeks that were added.
Nice! I ship July 19th!
I needed to see your comment brother. I’m about to be 30 and in your same boat. I’m starting an intense regimen to quit smoking, get back in shape, and be ready for RTC. I’m tired of living my life waiting for something useful to happen. Hope to join you as a fellow sailor!!
@@paintballking313 Hooyah! brother, just remember progress is progress no matter how little. If you did one more pushup and walked one more step than you did the day before then you made progress. The main thing is to just never give up!

@Tiffane Smith luckily I was a good competitive swimmer and good at swimming my whole life lol I’m getting back into the workouts. Cutting back (almost cold turkey) on cigarettes. And holy crap and I massively outta shape lol but thank you for the motivation!
Ah man, I remember battle stations, that was fun but exhausting as hell, I remember the morning when we were done with battle stations, we were in the galley and they were feeding us a big breakfast like pancakes and sausage and eggs, a lot of us were barely holding on and our Chief pops in and says "Hoo-yah" and we all let out the biggest and loudest "Hoo-yah" that the entire galley could hear and that energy we had when we getting ready for battle stations was right back, it was like we were ready to run through a brick wall
Hell yeah Shipmate! It is always a good feeling when you pass the final test. Thank you for your service!
All through boot camp I avoided soda and sweets but the morning after passing battle station I had my first coke and donut in months
I went through boot camp way back in 2001. Battlestations was very different. Same rules applied but we had to run throughout the whole base for each evolution. And didn’t do everything in order so we went to Marlinspike on one part of the base to run to FF then to Building 1 for Mass Casualty and Flooding then run to the longest part to the pool for abandoned ship. We were dead tired. But it made that one time allowed to talk in the mess hall for brunch so much better. And the RDCs made their rounds to catch sailors trying to nap. Good times.
I'm shipping out to boot camp on August 16th, nervous, scared and excited. DEP program really shaped me to be fit for boot camp from doubting myself to being confident. I hope I would survive boot camp, joining the military to make my life better. Hooyah!
what division ? I shipped out same day

I strangled to battle stations because of the PRT/PFA. One thing I learned about it is never eat a doughnut on that day, and run like you have to go to the bathroom.
I agree, most recruits that fail by 30 seconds or so, I was able to run with them on the retake and just motivate them the whole time. It is all in the mind sometimes.
Battlestations was a blast. The team I was in worked really well together. The joy of "making it" was squashed when we got back to the compartment and were beat though. The only things I can remember from the day after are chow and that beating.
This had been very helpful. Thank you
graduated from rtc on Oct 26th, 2023. for my division we actually did battlestations exactly a week before our OPFA. and we had our final PI the afteroon following the OPFA. the following monday we had our final drill inspection. i guess our schedule was all over the place lol.
Us navy my name saior officer edgar😊❤🎉
Battle stations honestly went by quicker than i thought it would like the 13 hours felt like 13 minutes
Yes 110%
Yeah for me it was actually easy to stay awake through the whole thing. Day after? THAT was a struggle. Anytime I was resting it was hard to keep my eyes open.
Hell, apparently you can even fall asleep marching, that's the day I learned that
Went through RTC in summer of '95. When did the SEALS allow regular sailors the use of "Hoo-Ya"?
When did they introduce Battlestations as part of Boot Camp. As I never participated Battlestations.
I loved battlestations don't remember everything about it but I do remember passing the OPFA that morning then having dress whites inspection immediately after then then did some kind of class then got ready for battlestations and then getting hyped up my RDCs and then we marched and did what we had to do, I tell you I never slept so good that night after luckily I had the 17 to 21 watch
Awesome thanks.
hey, love your videos and very informative as well. Tbh apart from one distant contact in the navy, this is all the information i’ll been relying on to know the ins and outs of the navy. i have a few questions but the main one for me is, once i go to my school, when will i be able to visit home. I get very home sick and my family is my life line, i just don’t want to stay too far but i know it just depends on what i wanna do. I’m stuck on either master-at-arms or a navy air traffic controller.
I remember our battle stations you’re up all day then they put us to bed about 2200 and then 2330 they woke you up to man battle stations and then it lasted until about 0600-0700, sounds like it’s a little different now.
Bootcamp will be the easiest part of ur navy career , I graduated January 6th 2023 , the hardest part will be ur pfa the 1.5 mile run ur push ups and sit ups , everything is easy and hand feed to u
I thought they replaced sit ups with planks
15:45 you said no one is screaming hurry up or anything and unpause, instructor screams out, “hurry up!” 😂
Noooo, He said they do not scream at you on the ships(Out in the fleet) during working parties. He is right for the most part. Occasionally, there will be a over zealous Boatswain mate first class who will try to energize the group but as long as everyone works together that is a rare occurrence.
E39 edgar rigoberto zambrano 415 sir very well
Back in 79 boot camp in RTC San Diego was 8 weeks long did not have battle station did your training and off you went didnt experience battle station until i got to the fleet
thank you for your service!
@@askardc thank you good buddy
For me they had all drill 3 pi 3 and the opfa afew days to a week after battle stations, it kinda ruined the special feeling of battle stations because even during the capping ceramony we knew we still had stuff after that
Getting so close to my ship date(June 12th) and a lot of these bootcamp related videos have been popping up. The days are going by too slow, I can’t wait to go.
We did battle stations then the PFA ..
Same here. We even had a guy who didn't pass his swim qualification until a day before graduation. We jokingly called him Nemo.
My boyfriend went to basic training 8/24, he told me that he has to take a naturalization test for his citizenship. If he doesn’t pass the test on the first try, will this delay his graduation?
I wouldn't say delay, but its easy when I went through bootcamp a couple weeks ago nobody failed the naturalization test in fact they all said it was super easy, now not everyone takes the test in bootcamp, so he will find out from his RDC's but don't be scared he will pass first try he has a family behind him and the navy provides lots of studying opportunities to recruits for it. good luck to him.
Ship out July 31st!.. excited tbh let’s get it🤙🏾 as long I pass the swim I’ll be ok🤣🤣
I ship out on January 2nd I'm so nervous about passing my PFA I suck at running
Do not worry, running is what you will do for most PT. If not, then a lot of calisthenics which is good for cardio vascularity
I am glad I found your channel, its been very helpful, I just had a question for you: Would you happen to know anything about the Aircrew pipeline after basic? asking because I will be going through it in the coming months.
Personally no. But there is a facebook page out there for every community. A few other military youtubers also talk about that life.
Im currently at Aircrew school. Assuming all goes well, you are going to see yourself come to pensacola after bootcamp, wait a couple weeks in a "backlog," then go into class (class being 4 weeks of training). This class is called NACCS (Naval Aircrew Candidate School). Class includes the first week of going to the schoolhouse to clean, the second week is swim week (the hardest week), the third and fourth are just classroom days where you do PT as well. After you get through class you will be assigned one of three rates (AWO / AWF / AWS(DRY)), then you should go straight to A School backlog for a WHILE. A school will be (AWO - 10 weeks / AWF - 7 weeks / AWS(DRY) - 6 weeks). After completing A School, you will go to SERE, which is... well... just look it up. After all of that, you will be going straight to your FRS (Fleet Replacement Squadron) for a certain amount of time, depending on your rate, ideally it should take 25-30 weeks. Then, once you are done with FRS, you will go into the fleet. Aircrew is one hell of a job.
PS, if you are Aircrew, but going for AirRescue (rescue swimmers), before going to NACCS you will go through ARRS (Aviation Rescue Swimmer School) for 2 weeks of prep and then 6 weeks of actual class. The two rates you will get out of NACCS would be AWR or AWS(WET). Dry (Dry Aircrewman) / Wet (Rescue Swimmer/Wet Aircrewman).
@@CreamyBuscemi haven't been able to find much information on NACCS so thank you a lot, what rate are you going to try to get?
@@godzillax3269 Im hoping to go AWR, so i can hunt subs. AWR is the rate all rescue swimmers get, unless the navy is willing to give an AWS contract, because they have too many of them (its very sought after).
RDC, what are my minimum times not to be set back as I arrive in boot camp? I'm 17.
I was alpha team , all my teammates were sleepy I lost my sleep the minute I got yelled for helping my teammate put her gear on once it was the ceremony time people were crying after getting the navy cap. I was angry and mugging the instructor who was an asshole 😂
I ship out December 14th as a CTR!
Good luck to you. I just talked to a former ctr who is in IT.
@@man4YAWEH454 hi I’m going through CTR a school right now!
Do they separate you from the military if you fail the final tests or do the set you back and give extra training
When I was there, they give you a few chances
Can i ask, when is the next navy bootcamp?
Don't fully understand your question. If you are talking about graduation, there is one every Friday.
Do you know if it’s possible for reserves to become rdc kinda a thought the crossed my mind recently
School after boot camp?
There are a multitude of schools you could end up going to after boot camp. It all depends on your rate.
we did battle stations a week after the PFA because it was shut down for maintenance and they couldn’t figure out how to turn it back on😂
I went to boot camp in 2001 after 911 and it was stupid easy. I was honestly in better shape before boot camp. Im sure with the little sensitive millennial kids its even easier now.
Thank you for your service! Bootcamp for all branches are always changing. For some it is easy, others hard. Whether it be physically or mentally. The important question is, did it lay the proper foundation for you in becoming a Sailor? Regardless, you chose to serve in a dangerous time. Thank you again
Most are actually Generation Z
