    9,000 jobs at risk? Nope. Canada's public works still has to get done. The work is there...for another company that is not corrupt. That other company then hires workers to meet the job.

      Ivaz Dranoel well there would be 9,000 government jobs open for honest incorrupt citizens .Trudeau didn't care about the jobs he cared about himself,the votes and the bribery $$ period. Otherwise hed be kicking their asses out and making sure their honest hardworking employees were employed.

    • @darrylbraun8520
      @darrylbraun8520 5 лет назад +1

      @Ivaz Dranoel First, there wouldn't be 9000 jobs lost, that's the entirety of the SNC Lavalin work force and that company isn't going bankrupt over this prosecution. Second, even if it were the full 9000, it wouldnt' be just one company having to hire the full 9000 to get the next contract done. There may be 100 contracts filled by 20 or 30 companies each having to hire maybe 10 to 100 people, and then hire again to suit the next contract. So, yes, in the worst case, untenable as it is, and 9000 jobs are lost, I would suspect that 80% of those jobs would be absorbed by other companies over a period of what, 5 years maybe? The reality is that Lavalin would lose maybe 1000 jobs IF Trudeau honors the 10 year ban and that's doubtful as hell. In actuality, jobs would likely be created by Lavalin being banned, still operating in all other contracts (banned only from federal projects) and other companies having to hire to pick up the slack.

    Before any of you take Gerry Butts "story" as reality, keep in mind these 3 things
    1) the Conservatives tried to pass a motion to have Butts give his testimony under OATH, the liberal majority committee voted against that motion
    2) After hearing Butts "story" the Conservatives passed a motion to invite raybould to come Back to the committee to rebut Gerry butt's story and once again, the liberal majority committee voted against that
    3) If Michael Wernick is allowed to come back to answer some more questions from the committee, why can't Jody Wilson raybould who is the center of this whole scandal???

    I’ll cut the guy some slack, only because it must have been hell going through middle school with the name Butts, and that face. Kids can be cruel. But seriously, this is the best story he can come up with? I’d have more respect for him, if he just said, “oops ...”.

    Here's an interesting dichotomy. Butts has spoken about the discussion, with Trudeau,about JWR being moved from the AG position to indigenous affairs (which according to Butts she refused) and then demoted to Veterans affairs. So, Butts can speak about the "after "times regarding January 7 until JWR's resignation on about February 7, BUT, JWR still cannot? And the so called "Justice Committee " has blocked a motion to deny JWR from recall to speak to this time period? Yet has been legitimately raised by Butts? Does anyone smell a cover up here? Or worse, a smear campaign emerging?

    Well done CBC--get this right and you'll be a hero of western democracy--stay with the facts, analyses yes-- stay way from the Op- Eds. or few--at most.
    Actually--just do the opposite of what we see in the USA.. and you'll do fine..

      Yeah i’m extremely surprised they aren’t covering for JT. It has really made me realize that our news isn’t as bad as the American mainstream news outlets.
      That said, I feel the the reason none of the media outlets are covering for JT is because he’s just been straight up caught with his hand in the cookie jar and there’s nothing they really CAN do to cover for him.
      In situations like this where someone is caught red handed doing something the media can’t put their own coverup spin on it or the risk losing their credibility with all Canadians.
      When the liberal media is not on JT’s side you know he’s done something wrong

    So Jody Wilson-Raybould as AG decides to go after an engineering company SNC that does business in Libya....where the whole system is based on Graf. Can't go wrong there, big career booster! Take down a big company Looks good on resume. Personal Ambition at the expense of hundreds, even thousands of employees of those companies. Good start as every Canadian company doing business just about anywhere in the world has had to pay bribes to get work done, whether mining, engineering etc. That is just the way it is in the Middle East, South America, even the US. So she just announces this and waits for objections to come in from her boss. Obviously Jody is not suitable to this portfolio so is then shuffled to another position. Career buster! Time to pull out the poor me card. Shame on you Jody Wilson-Raybould.
