    If SNC Lavalin was based in Calgary instead of Montreal, you can be sure that Trudeau would have personally overseen its prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.

      Barb Diederich: Furthermore, she is a woman. If she were a man, she would still be Attorney General, and there would not be any of this fuss. If she and Jane Philpott were men, no one would be agitating to kick them out of caucus.

    Given that Trudeau has basically *trained for this job his whole life,* how can he continue to profess the lines are too blurry? The post of Attorney General, ex officio as Minister of Justice, has been a dual role since 1868. Proclaiming himself the 'morally superior', Jr․ pranced in, on a puff of righteousness, by wagging his finger at the PM before him. I had no idea he would blame his failures on *every* PM before him. Poor Sir John A․ I suppose Canada should just count the past 150 years as lucky ( yes Jr․, 150 years, _not_ 100 ). Itʹs a wonder that every PM, and Ministers of Justice who served under them, managed to squeak by ... until, *THE DAM OF INTEGRITY FINALLY BROKE* and hapless Jr․ was swept up in it all. I wonder, will this PM _defile_ Canada any further? I suppose weʹll just have to see, should Quebec decide their jobs are worth more than Canadaʹs integrity, a fair playing field for all corporations, and the taxpayer money lost when weʹre swindled over and over and over again.

    My favorite part about the Liberal party is that they're so ignorant and short-sighted that the other members of the party think it's a good idea to defend a failure of a 'leader' and dig their feet into the ground to do so.

    • @BW022
      @BW022 5 лет назад +5

      Agreed. At one point it might have been possible to drop Trudeau as leader -- either resign, force him out through mass resignations, or vote against their own party to see it fall -- and the party still might have a reasonable showing in the election, spend a couple of terms as opposition, and rebuild the party under a new leader. However, the more they try to defend or dismiss the issue the more Canadians will have no choice but to blame each liberal MP personally. It's clear that there isn't going to be any resolution/punishment prior to the next election (the liberals are voting their majority in the justice committee, ethics committee, and so far no RCMP investigation). Thus, votes may see the only punishment for this is to take out their furry on any liberal MP.
      I'm not sure it is good for Canadians to have the liberals destroyed (aka 1993 conservatives) and have the NDP as the only opposition for a decade.

    Jody received this phone call at home and did not want a meeting without any of her staff to witness. That fully justifies and explains her recording of the phone call. She obviously keeps very accurate records of every meeting and brings witnesses. She had already received inappropriate pressure from the Prime Ministers office on this issue. Because of her careful and accurate records such as the recording of this phone call, Canadians will always know what happened here. This can change the long history of political corruption at the federal level of Canada’s government.

    I think one reason Ms Wilson-Reybould said there was no criminal action, is that she actually prevented that (as long as she was in the position and could ensure the rule of law was maintained). Team Justin were doing everything they could to see how they could skirt around the law to get what Justin wanted. And when she short-stopped them on proceeding with the illegal political interference, Justin shuttled her out of the way so he could get the next appointed minister to go along with him.

    The Liberals keep talking about what Canadians expect them to do. I'm a Canadian. Let me tell you what we expect you to do, because YOU DO NOT SEEM TO BE LISTENING.
    1. We expect you to govern with wisdom and skill. (You fail in this category.)
    2. We expect you to TELL THE TRUTH! (Don't even get me started.)
    3. When you make a mistake we expect you to go back and make it right. (Not you guys. You just try to gloss it over and to pretend nothing happened. Well guess what, we already know that plenty has happened.)
    Stop telling us what we expect because everyone can see these are only talking points and you are out-and-out lying.
    Note to Mr. Boissenault and his cronies: You will answer for this, if not in this election, then in history. If not in this world, then in the next.
    In my opinion anyone who votes Liberal in the next election either lives in a Never Never Land where they simply don't know what is going on (what the Liberals seem to hope for) or is covering their ears and saying, "Don't confuse me with the facts."
    Don't do it, Canada. The future price we will pay for any more years of this government is going to be ginormous. It is already about the end of what we can endure and still hope for some success.
    Randy Boissemault, you know what is going on. You should be ashamed.

  • @kohoko1952
    @kohoko1952 5 лет назад +5

    Justin knows that his interference was just that...The Department of Public Prosecutions had already made a firm decision about NOT applying the new law for a Deferred Prosecution Agreement based on facts and reasons that made them ineligible to admit guilt, pay a hefty fine and promise to never do it again. When Jody Wilson-Raybould got the file as the new AG, she knew enough not to question the decision that had been made by the prosecutor who fully considered that a DPA could be implemented but chose instead to refer for prosecution. Even though JWR had the power to drop the criminal charges, any attempt to do just that would have the appearance of interference for political purposes. The fallout would make JWR and Justin Trudeau look guilty in which case it would be catastrophic for the AG and even Justin would have a difficult time trying to create plausible deniability. The mere mention of the subject after the prosecutor wrote their opinion and referred the file for criminal prosecution could have no other purpose than to attempt to overtly interfere and get the AG to drop the criminal charges and implement the Deferred Prosecution Agreement....

  • @sonjaalcock1859

    The recording is not an issue, only proof that the PM and his office was pressuring her because in Wernick's words "not good to have the PM and his Minister being at loggerheads" (paraphrased). JWR needed to make sure she had evidence of the conversation, and recorded it because she was alone and hadn't any one there to witness the conversation. She didn't know if she was going to be told she was being fired during that call......for the calls never ceased.....and then she was removed which she knew was going to happen. This is not a he said/she said senerio.....but JWR telling the truth and the PM and the PMO making up stories to cover their part in the whole affair....including Boissonnault!!

    I am so disappointed in Justin Trudeau. In my opinion, he is little more then a spoiled brat who was raised with more than his share of privilege. Even his father did a better job than he did.. The only reason he legalized marijuana is that his mother is a pothead and an addict. I read one of her more recent books, and she freely admits her addiction in that book. The only way Justin can stay in politics is if his mother is not always on the wrong side of the law; therefore, he, he has to legalize pot to keep her out of jail.

    Every time they say it's about jobs is just validation that political interests were being thrust into the process. That is exactly political interference. We know you are trying to gain sympathy from Canadians by saying jobs jobs jobs, but you are nailing your own coffin every time you say it. Also, what about the companies who would have prospered if SNC were no longer able to bid on federal contracts. They would obviously create more jobs.
