We've paid x 3-12 the amount per ton for ships...we bought a solid design for an ice breaker from Norway and somehow managed to more than double the price AND with less capabilites!

Canada agreed to this in 2014, when it was 0.99% of GDP. In this Liberal Gov't's tenure we are only at a point of ~1.3%? Think about all the conflicts since 2014 and what should've communicated a certain urgency. We know governments can spend money when they want to, look at COVID response. Quite frankly, this Liberal Government didn't consider defense spending a priority, nevermind the procurement issues.

Canada should be paying its fair share fo NATO. For all the whining we hear about the rich not paying their "fair share"...the government certainly does a bang up job of meeting its own obligations. We have 2 billion to waste on a satellite internet program, but cant provide the military with proper equipment and training? So much waste...taxes arent the problem, misallocation of taxpayer funds is.
