The Bf 109 K-4 is an extremely strong 5.7 plane, but it does struggle in certain match ups. Most of your losses will be to tickets just like in this, because of the American ground pound armada.

The 30mm gunpods litteraly don't affect the plane no.

In this plane the gunpods make the plane worse
@Tidd Ham in the game they do, you dont notice much but in the 10 games that i had the gunppds on on my f4 i started playing horrendous
Also the gunpods dont do much damage and they are just dead weight, use them only for anti tank in tank rb
That's because with the F4 the plane actually suffers from it because it plays differently
They also do fuckall in terms of damage
@@DEFYN K4 without gunpods has godlike performance tho, sure the mk24 +51H will be hard but you can still deal with them. when you use gunpods, its performance decreases to the point that a fight heavily favors the spits & 51H's (altho it doesnt seem like a lot on stats).

Your reversing technique reminds me Green Fury. I seen him in a game some time ago and he said he will take a break uploading videos but it was loooong time ago. I don’t know if he ever going to come back. He was my mentor, learned lot from him 😔
Definitely my favorite 109 in the line. It lets me stay aggressive and dogfight instead of running from enemy players and doing ascending spirals. It's like back to the Emil with eXXXtra power and way less compression.
I like the K4 and have the most games on it but my favorite it probably the G10, the lower BR really helps and it's not much worse
Got absolutely hammered last night , was trying to spade the K-4 ,remembered and rewatched this video and I ended up smashing a couple of games!🤟

nice work DYFN true the griffon are strong at high altitudes but there are much powerful engines than the Griffons like the Ta-152 both of H1 and C3 and P-51's
one of the things that i noticed about the griffon spits is it's poor manuverability at speeds
once the spit griffon locks up it becomes impossible to make a better turn or even in a sustained turn
one of the planes that can outturn the griffons is the Ta-152 H1 and the P-51 H
both of the Ta-152 and P-51 can outclass the griffon at any maneuver either energy trapping or BNZ or BNR
also early jets can still outrun the griffon at any altitude
but the griffon spits are very nice and it sounds incredibly good and i love it's sound and i am gonna get the spit mk-19 very soon

BF109K4 is an awesome aircraft, its more potent with no pods and the 30mm in the nose. Yes you have limited ammo but the fire rate isn't high so pulling the trigger doesn't waste as much as you think. What you lack with out the pods makes up with climb rate and in turns. I play in SB tried all combinations and 30's in the nose is wicked.

Great video and even better performance. You are a true professional in this game ...thou one note (at least on paper): F8F-1B's engine is one of top 3 engines of all the single engine prop fighter planes, can't remember thou it might be even the most powerful of all so I say top 3. The problem is overheating and poor high alt performance. Thou with 3 stage (if i remember correctly) gear supercharger it is a mystery to me why it sux so much on high altitude in the game.
Also gun-pods remove a lot of elasticity from K-4 so it might also be a reason why Bearcan was matching you in some cases. Thou you already know that even better then I do probably.

Might be a long shot but do you have a video of how to start an air RB match? I know going for the one attacker ground pounding may get you a free kill but cripple you for the rest of the game. I just have trouble letting the match develop a bit before I go in to fight I think.
Always use a skin with a Hakenkreuz for maximum performance.

I started flying 109s for the first time with the F4 and my god it's overpowered. I was a 190 pilot and I can use all my same tactics that got me a solid 3-4 kills a game but these things can turn and with the gun pods have very similar firepower. Overall not much more kills but I can now be an absolute moron in picking targets since I can safely engage anything
i prefer 190s people can't handle the roll rate
What are your opinions on the Ta 152 H-1, TA 152 C-3, and the G56 being moved up to 6.0? Also, do you think you could do a video with the spitfire mk. 24? I’m having a lot of trouble trying to play it right now against other props.
152h is deserved, the others I am kinda conflicted on. Does the mk24 not see jets every game?

With the understanding that GAME stats rule, nontheless, real-life K4 outperforms G-10 at all altitudes, assuming similar loadouts.

Bf109k I flew in cheap 87 pump gas while the spitfire and p51 needed America 150 octanes to survive. Winner goes to bf109 and water methane injection.
Water+Methanol, not methane. And that only was used as a compensator for the worse fuel, to allow higher manifold pressure.
@@reinbeers5322 excuse that I use my iphone and the auto spell correct is horrible indeed I used methanol but twisted the word to methane.
@@reinbeers5322 any thoughts on the allies using up to 150 octanes and comparing themselves to Germany which suffered constantly from fuel shortages? To me it’s a sick joke that 87 octanes are always left out so the Americans and British can pass themselves off as fake heroes fighting against all odds.

If Germany had access to 150 octane fuel, I doubt they would have MW-50 systems as widespread as they did. Besides, they also had the GM-1 nitrous oxide engine boost.
I know what you mean by that, especially in Battle of Britain. Spitfires and Hurricanes over their homeland, not having to babysit bombers, and with an extensive radar network to guide them to enemy forces.
If the situation was reversed and the Brits had to attack Germany with very limited time for combat dictated by fuel, I believe the situation would have been the exact opposite.
Besides, Spitfires got their asses handed to them by Fw190s over the channel anyway.
All 109s ran 87 and allies 100 since end of bob but k4 in this video ran 100 octane+ c3 fuel

The K-4 is better, if the G-10 gets downtiered a lot it would be overal superiour but idk if that happens a lot.
It’s weird I hear a lot of bad things about the 30 mil and I find it quite good I mean I lead it and I’m pretty accurate with it also same goes with my Ta but it’s weird I can’t lead with the 151 for some reason

I love this plane but I need to grind SL for an hour or two before I’m able to actually play it for more than a few matches
If you're broke on sl try to buy the Japanese corsair and chi nu 2 or but one of them. Cheap and I made 800k with that lineup.
Edit: The corsair got nerfed so it needs a lot of skill to play.
The Japanese Corsair is one of the most busted planes in the game lol. It's not a high skill plane at all

Can you make a video on how to fight spitfires in the K4? (If they are on your six)
if they are on your six and they are catching you you lost already.
If you still have your flaps, just dive straight, you have a higher max speed than the spits, when they pull up, use combat flaps and shoot them down (if you have the energy)
Griffons easily outdive you and compress less, by the time your flaps are down you're in the ground.
You can deal with them in a an engagement where you can make them bleed speed or simply have more than them.
You want to preferably fight them low as their engines overheat fast and because they are slow down low
The Merlin spits are a joke to this one just don't let them get on your ass
@@DEFYN oh yeah i forgot about griffons, true they'll do this, Green Fury made a video about fighting turn fighters in the K4 i think, but if you're fighting Merlins i usually just use the dive and outclimb tactic, it works the best for me, 8/10 would recommend

g-2 is still the best 109 in my opinion. It turns really good and has an amazing climb rate. I played it on 6.0 and was fine

hmmm...dont really agree about p51h's being something to be concerned about with the k4. Just make sure you fight them at 5.5k's or below i guess. The spits are a bigger headache.

P-51H outperforms the K-4 in *every* important metric.
Turn rate, turn radius, speed, climb, MER, flaps (they deploy faster, and they're better overall). The performance gap closes up at 3.5km due to the P-51H's gear switch altitude, but the P-51H still performs slightly better.

Well that's why some ace German pilots has to change from 109 to 190 which the Dora has better improved engine and it can outrun and outclimb the griffon spitfire which it's why it's the best 190 in German tree

The Dora never let's you down
On the deck yes, high altitude no. And the griffon outclimbs you completely so it can just dive on you and make up for the lack of straight line speed.
The mk22 Is as fast as the d12 and d13 and only gets outran by about 10kph by the D9 (on the deck)
The mk14 is a bit slower yes, but again at high alt the griffon is a rocket.
in terms of climbrate but the speed is roughly the same

why when i use this thing 80% spaded i still get outclimbed by fkn F4Us. I climb at 25°, no gunpods, lowest ammount of fuel. Like wtfk am i supposed to do when corsairs, spitfires and p51s beat me at my specialty.
Climb with IAS speed not angle, try 230 kph
270kph is a very popular speed to climb in k4 (ias)

I wanna say messer made a video back in the day about the k4 vs f8f. If I remember rightly the f8f outperforms the k4 at all alts until its engine boost runs out. Except for maybe energy retention, I dont remember if he brought it up

Dear Defyn. Last week I was flying my fw190 f8 and I met you in one fight. It was great battle but after long fighting I had the alt and speed advantage over you. And you Just crashed your plane to ground. So I didnt managed to kill you. Why did you do that? Btw I learned most of my skill from you.
I said in chat I was out of fuel, I can't fly on willpower alone, there were 3 of you going after me and none of you decided to engage me.
When you do that long enough I run out of energy to not fly into a bunch of trees

What the hell are you on ? Where, when who said that it has good energy retnetion ? Shit's only dangerous to you for first 10 seconds of engagement - and that's after diving from space.
Sometimes all you need to do in a 109 is literally do a single loop and F8F will be stalling out, it's not even funny.
I don't know about IRL, but in game (which is what matters here), it hemorrhages energy in turns.
