The title track KICK was shot at the birth place of modern skateboarding, Venice Skate Park, California in recognition of the original album cover artwork created during the era when modern skateboarding was pioneered by the Dogtown skaters. The 4-Disc KICK 30 Anniversary Edition, which features the new promo video on a Blu-Ray disc alongside the brand new Dolby Atmos mix of the album by Giles Martin.

I used the lyrics to this song to keep myself going a lot when I was younger. Saved my life. I wish Michael could have done the same.
This song really shows off the power in the voice of Michael Hutchence, it should have been released as a single.
As a 15yo UK kid in 1987 I was just getting in skateboarding & I saw INXS on TV show "Network 7". It was the COOLEST thing Id seen!! At the end of the video Michael said "All you've got to do now is learn how to skate"
& I did. For a few years at least Sk8 was my life & I also discovered all of INXS's music.
Now I am 50 & still those early albums like Shabooh Shoobah, The swing, Listen Like thieves are ICONIC & of course KICK which started my INXS love.
The greatest thing about INXS for me is that they manage to merge alternative & rock/pop & they never sell out their musical integrity.

I live with the devastation of never being old enough to see INXS fronted by Hutch. 20 years this month since we lost him. INXS will forever be the backbone of my music collection until the day I kick it.
My dad saw him in the 70's, and together my mom and dad saw them twice in the 80's! Lucky!

Great to see this song get a video..finally!. AND skateboarders too. I may have been a rollerblader at heart...but I had a skateboard in my younger days. Still got it. It's got the Devil emblazoned on the underside...but I miss my old board, it was dead wobbly, fast and dangerous and could go pretty well on a smooth bit of tarmac/pavement.

I love this song and iINXS . They came to Penshurst Girls High School in 1981 to perform for us girls but I was on library duty but I still could hear them sing . They were a pub band back then . I never new that I would fall in love with group . They will live on forever !
Great story. A friend of mine used to see them playing Sydney pubs before they had a record deal. He said that even back then he could tell they were going to make it.

Nice video, glad I found it. My case logic cassette carrier was stolen 20 years ago and haven't listened to 80s music much since. I now see this seem to hold up well against time. Maybe not though, perhaps I'm just old.
