Hardly "overlooked" - it was from their Kick album, which was their best-selling album.

I remember seeing this music video for first time in the 90s. There is something hypnotic about it.
I find it sacrilegious that radio stations do not play this part of the track. On the original album this track and Need You Tonight are segued and it really is a joy to listen to.
That industrial, eerie, crashing sound of metal chains (?) at the beginning always gives me goosebumps. Such a unique band who weren't afraid of playing around with sound. I was always fascinated by the harmonica on Suicide Blonde when hearing it as a child, and would dance like crazy to it and imitate playing the mouth organ. 😂 Happy days!

a humble request to the Vevo gods: please put the uncut Need You Tonight / Mediate video up, it is an epic achievement and deserves to be appreciated in full.
I can’t get over how ahead of their time they were with most of their songs, including the early stuff. You can find the trends they started in the majority of popular indie/funk rock/synthpop of today.
The kick album had some real hidden gems on it. 👍 😎

Seriously? How so, if I may enquire...? Seeing as though he was the band's primary composer & their keyboardist, I can't even begin to fathom how he could be lacking in rhythm in the slightest bit, let alone to a "legendary" degree...

@@despicabledog INXS' songs aged very well. What a strange comment.. surely you were being ironic? I only just found out about this track recently and thought it was recently made. All their classic songs sound timeless. Tame impala is a perfect example of music that will age terribly.

my VHS compilation of videos from this album was a prized possession at the time. Styles and production values have changed, but these masterful videos did justice to the wonderful songs then and still do.

Every time I hear it I'm tossed into the gentle night life of a huge city (back in the great 80's or even 90's) Its the most beautiful sax solo of all time. I wish there was an entire song with this sax background style of unforgettable melodies.

This song relaxes me.
The whole band scaled a chain-wire fence while the director and film crew had a single camera pressed up against the wire fence.
The only evidence you can see off this is, at the end they all walk away until one by one they stop waiting for the director to call "Cut!" at which point they all ran back to climb back over the fence.
