She's incredible, incomparable, stunning and everything else that makes good to our minds, hearts and souls. Thank you Courtney, you're blessed 🙏 Michael must be in heaven, glad and proud of you. 💕💕💕
18:50 Tamara, the lady tossing the cards during Mediate is adorable. She was terrified at first, and needed Courtney so bad. You could see Courtney just wanting to sink into her guitar's intonations with that sampler, but she gave more of herself in nods and encouraging smiles. It was really fun to watch. And touching. Both their smiles made me smile, repeatedly.
I had this original album on tape & listened to it over and again & loved it. Courtney gives the perfect homage, with slight irony, never losing the original spirit of this album. In removing the overproduction, she brings back the blues & breathes new life into the songs - like a new sensation. ;-) Devil Inside - so melodious, so precise, even darker than the original - who would've thought? Mediate gets a gentle & beautiful treatment, also. I find something new each time I listen to this version of Kick. And her other original songs - absolutely marvelous.
Like all great artist's they pull you in from start to finish and leave you walking away with an opinion, amazing stuff Courtney, good on ya for stepping out the square and doing your own thing, great take on an old classic album , looking forward to hearing more from ya , :-)
Convinces me at last that my high-school-days love for this record wasn't completely misplaced. There's real good stuff down under the '80s production nonsense. Thanks, Courtney!
Beautiful, and one more piece of evidence on the power of great songs, no matter the style they are performed in. In this case, a win-win: INXS songs plus Courtney's sober, raw performances.
I would sell my soul to be go back in time and been there.oh the right I sound my soul to the devil to get Kraftwerk touring again years ago, was fucking amazing and so is this.seeing Courtney again in concert in July Raglan New Zealand
This is terrific! It sounds like INXS if the tunes were written by The Velvet Underground to me. @Lana Del Rey for Next Libération magazine 2014 of April. Photographed by Mathieu Cesar
Years later revisiting this video...totally thought this was me you were referring to for a moment as I have an identical rear profile middles-aged-man receding hairline. Until, that is, I review the photography I was hired to do that day and realise it wasn't me at all....thankfully. Totally different angles and seating position to me. Okay Courtney, just saw you on Good Morning America this morning and promptly looked you up on RUclips....when you gonna tour the states, specifically Northern Michigan ?
I'd love to see her cover the Hoodoo Gurus. Beck covered this album too DAMN... I MISS INXS !!!! I'd love to see her cover the Hoodoo Gurus. I like her she is so cute This sounds like INXS on heroin... I'd love to see her cover the Hoodoo Gurus.
+jackiejanetm first time i checked someone's list.....music and food.....you're my kind of woman......waiting for bowie's album on the 8th.....maybe i'll try the pork shank recipe to celebrate....happy new year
this and new sensation seem kind of like something cat power might have covered in her early years. completely reworked and almost a different song, the guitar almost sounds similar.
Timothy Germann I gotta agree with this, it's nice but I'd love to see her cover AC/DC's "Big Balls" -- something with clever lyrics. Let's forgive her, Timothy! :)
3188 seconds of my life are way too many to listen to a nevertheless talented songwriter singing for fun a whole (rather mediocre but commercial) album on a sole guitar!
You may be a shrew but you ain't very shrewd. I suspect you haven't listened to her EPs either. Courtney Barnett is a hugely talented songwriter, her guitar-playing is pretty damn cool as well; and the fact you are too cloth-eared and pedantic to appreciate that is your loss. Its interesting to see the INXS songs in a different musical setting and style, stripped back to simply words and melody rather all the eighties bombast and clutter of the original album. The fact some of you prefer the INXS versions is completely - so do I mostly - but that is beside the point.
INXS sucked after the Listen Like Thieves album. This is a rendition of their most successful album done sincerely by an artist who has a genuinely raw talent .Rather listen to this than the crud INXS put out in their latter career.

@@rafimakaro8043 it looks like this was produced by a record label. Maybe email them to inquire about that 🙂
She's incredible, incomparable, stunning and everything else that makes good to our minds, hearts and souls. Thank you Courtney, you're blessed 🙏 Michael must be in heaven, glad and proud of you. 💕💕💕

Tamara was one of the regulars at Pure Pop. Most of these shows sold out I remember
Painful to watch...like someone singing karaoke to "TEQUILA".

INXS Still influencing these kids today! Amazing...
Wow! ONE OF THE BEST ALBUM in the world done in so lovely way! Thrilling! R.I.P Micheal!
I enjoyed listening to this! ;D
Excellent! I'd love to see her sing "Don't Change". That might be awesome.
AGREED!!
Absolutely moving. What a beautiful rendition.
This needs to be released on vinyl
Love her take on this album!

That's exactly what was thinking too.
This is great, Courtney! Keep up the good work.
DAMN... I MISS INXS !!!!
Love to hear her do Crowded House , ....Yeah Baby.
love it !
I like how she gave a totally different meaning to Guns in the Sky, I've never though about it that way before
Brilliant!

She is just transcendent. And oh so cute with the long hair.

DAMN... I MISS INXS !!!!
This sounds like INXS on heroin...
Klasse gemacht, Courtney, gute Stimme.
This is quite literally the only way to make me listen to an INXS album.
I'd love to see her cover the Hoodoo Gurus.
This is fucking awesome...
I really wish that guy would stick his tag in his shirt, it's very distracting.
Robert Candia NOW I CAN'T LOOK AT ANYTHING ELSE :/
lol thinking if that was me and some random person just puts my tag back in my shirt. I'd feel so uncomfortable lol

Okay Courtney, just saw you on Good Morning America this morning and promptly looked you up on RUclips....when you gonna tour the states, specifically Northern Michigan ?
+Timbrwolf55 She did a whole bunch of festivals during the Summer, maybe next year again.
brilliant
Great !
heart!
Wow!
I'd love to see her cover the Hoodoo Gurus.

thank you for your originality
incredible :-)
❤
I want a produced version of Never Tears Apart without interruptions. Please, in the vein of Courtney Barnett would be great. Best
Hernan Zenteno she actually covered Never Tear Us Apart for an apple ad. You can find the song on spotify or just google First Dance apple ad
Mediate was moving - a fitting memorial to Michael.
She sounds like someone asked her to do this an hour before hand. And I love Courtney
i just fucking love her......and i'm old......xoxo
+pilarzj Agreed! I too am old...and I love this woman!
+jackiejanetm first time i checked someone's list.....music and food.....you're my kind of woman......waiting for bowie's album on the 8th.....maybe i'll try the pork shank recipe to celebrate....happy new year
How old is old? Lol. I love her version of New Sensation. Love her work with Kurt Vile. I'm going on 60...
pilarzj I'm 44.. She has got it and when you got it you just fucking got it.... Courtney is a badass
Beck covered this album too
Really? Live or studio?
OH holy crap, I would pay dearly for that guitar !
TacomaPaul But then she would need to special order another one. Just order one yourself. Just kidding by the way.
TacomaPaul restring your guitar in reverse order and play it upside down - job sorted
Really dude ? Was talking about the guitar, not how to string it.
Aussie as fuck.
I know. And even better, left handed.
The Blue Ribbon Goes to Courtney Barnett
Is it me, or did she leave out 'Wild Life' ? I think it's great regardless, tho
Sounds fucking awesome - different - but in good way
I like her she is so cute
Hey - she took a risk...
this and new sensation seem kind of like something cat power might have covered in her early years. completely reworked and almost a different song, the guitar almost sounds similar.
Whaddayaknow?! I love this interpretation about as much as I hated the original INXS album ¦·D
Hey - she took a risk...
Wow! ONE OF THE BEST ALBUM in the world done in so lovely way! Thrilling! R.I.P Micheal!
This sounds like INXS on heroin...
If the Doors covered INXS....
Kick ass guitar
fucking goddess.
courtney looks eternally scruffy I love it
She is super-talented.
I love Courtney Barnett and like INXS but....
Timothy Germann I gotta agree with this, it's nice but I'd love to see her cover AC/DC's "Big Balls" -- something with clever lyrics. Let's forgive her, Timothy! :)
Timothy Germann The song where she's playing just guitar chords actually is the best thing--it's very meditative.
cloth -eared and pedantic . I love you humans
she looks different man
Not in the same league,as INXS .
imagine if the lady actually stayed and they would have done it again ... backward
no
3188 seconds of my life are way too many to listen to a nevertheless talented songwriter singing for fun a whole (rather mediocre but commercial) album on a sole guitar!
that's a little harsh don't you think?
good that it was worth the time to figure out how many seconds the video was.

This sounds like INXS on heroin...
Heroin is the only flavor INXS came in.
it would be a shame...
When are you gonna start singing or playing!? One of the best album of history music made shit! I can´t believe the audience claps.
Better with a band
Ouch... Hutchence dies at this Moment 2 Times !!!
Good on her for being a INXS fan, but that was painful. My ears are bleeding now.
Love Courtney's music, but ... hated this.
Interesting interpretation but not really feeling it.
Awful.
INXS sucked after the Listen Like Thieves album. This is a rendition of their most successful album done sincerely by an artist who has a genuinely raw talent .Rather listen to this than the crud INXS put out in their latter career.
meh
Ugh.
bit tedious that.
love it!
