You need to go back near the end of the season and stay until close. The RF2 is a mind-blowing ride in the total dark. The park is okay during the day but it is something special once all the lights come on. No lighting on the coaster so those tunnels are pitch black.
Ever since I can remember the Wacky Shack slanted room always smelled like cedar wood but for some reason about 2018 it was mysteriously gone. It was certainly a memory trigger. The strobe light was removed back when the Pokemon epilepsy incident happened and only came back in 2020 after 20 years of being gone. That room also had a vibrating mechanism to shake the car but that was putting too much stress on the vehicles so it was removed in the 80's.
The proper way to go through the tilted room in the Pirate's Cove is to sit on the floor and slide under the rails to the other side. That is why there is a discolored groove there. Also the room with jail bars never used to have that shortcut but something happened and it was opened up as an option instead.
Back in 2019 last operating day it rained with no lightning so I rode a dozen times in a row in a downpour and it ran super fast. Holy wow rain in the eyes sting! It was totally dark for the last 5 runs.
as a person who lives in Erie, the only reason I go to Waldameer is to swim and ride rollcoasters, the only one I’ve tried is comet, yeah I’m afraid of heights😭
Great video! Ravine Flyer 2 looked really fun! Its cool how it has a drop higher than its chain lift like Phatoms Revenge. Yeah it is kind of meandering like you said towards the end. Im really looking forward to the next Vlog!
Thanks for the question! For domestic travel, I use Frontier Airline’s GoWild Pass. It’s essentially $400 for a whole year’s worth of flights, though you can only book a day prior to departure so you must be a flexible traveler.
Great videos. Thanks for uploading. Are you heading back to Knoebels again? I'll never forget watching your video from 3 or 4 years ago and seeing the back of our heads as you were apparently sitting right behind us. 😂
Despite living in Erie for a full year I havent been to this park in 6 years 😂😂😂. I think Ravine Flyer 2 is better than most GCIs. The only real knock on it is that it is in fact, rough as hell.
I try to always ride Steel Dragon facing backwards. That first hill facing back it so awesome. The worst part is the sudden braking at the end and painful if you don't brace yourself. Yeah it sucks getting old.
I love going to Waldameer. It’s a fun place to go, and Ravine Flyer II is amazing. Been going there every summer since I was really little. I plan to keep going every summer
Dude what other coaster have you been on that goes over a major road? I'm sure you may actually have some lol... for me no. Love Ravine Flyer 2... and Waldameer surprised me.
I went to Waldemere once and got the amusement park pass and water park pass I am usually a Kennywood person. Waldemere was pretty expensive compared to Kennywood, but I had an overall amazing time. And I wasn’t even supposed to go. We were at lake Erie and we decided to just go. I’m very happy we did.8/10
Did Ravine Flyer 2 must say its one of the better woody's in the world in my opnion. Not one of the really great ones but just behind that. For the entire park its a fun little park and if you do the water park with it (like i didn't) you can have a fun day. If you don't its still a nice half day park.
Waldameer looks like a nice park. The view of Lake Eerie from it is beautiful. Ravine Flyer II is a coaster that I very much want to ride. It seems like a really fun coaster, and appears to be one of the better wooden coasters around.
Awesome vid. I love Wacky Shack, 13:55 reminded me of art drawn by the average Democrat voter, Dennis Rader (proud Anti-Trumper btw). The 2nd haunt Walk Through btw was also DNC Dennis Rader-esque. I love how you got Milk and cookies. That's cool. Love it. Those drop towers like the one here are wild and Ravine Flyer 2 is a world-class coaster with admission-worthy views.
I don't underrate it. It's the general public that underrates it's. RFII is awesome. I'm trying to figure out how to stack Waldemeer with another trip so I can ride it again.
If Ravine Flyer II didnt have that train to go over itd be great from start to finish! If the park ever needs to redo some track and puts gravity kraft trains.. who knows? Maybe they could slightly alter the profiling to get some decent, shorter pops at the end
If you look at the large scale Gravity Group coasters, everyone loves the Voyage, Ravine Flyer, Boardwalk Bullet and the retooled Megafobia and everyone thinks Hades, Cú Chulainn, Leviathan, Mine Blower and the retooled Tonnere 2 Zeus are ungodly rough. What's the connecting factor here? The trains. With so many data points, this can't be a coincidence. Megafobia vs. Tonnere is especially striking, both old CCI desings that got the same style GG overhaul, but everbody parises Megafobia while T2Z has turned out very divisive. Timberliners: they are fine for the small rides, but they don't work on the big coasters. I hope the parks have learned this now and the next big GG coaster will get good ol' PTCs.
I will second the fact that this coaster gives drastically different rides in the morning and evening. This year my first ride was at 1:00 and I thought I remember it being much wilder. Then I rode it at 9pm right before park close in the back! It was insane! The 2nd half feels how it's supposed to be too. My recommendation would be to hit the Waterpark 1st. That new water coaster is really good. Then hit up rv2 late evening when that thing is hauling the mail.
Idk, Erie isn't really middle of nowhere. It's the intersection of 2 major highways i79 and i90. Kind of the center point between Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo. The population is also quite high which you can see if you've ever been on Peach St on a Saturday.
@@wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037 Well, I know that, I live 30 miles away. Been going there most of my life. My town is on Lake Erie and I90 almost midway between Erie and Cleveland We’re actually in a pretty central location. I was just playing along with what he was saying because I guess from a non local enthusiast standpoint, I can see his point. Not too many people make their way up here for anything other than passing through.
Thank you for watching! 🎢

So she got 4 credits. RF2, Steel Dragon, The Comet, and RF3.
Waldameer is my homepark.

I loved the barrel room in The Pirates's Cove ever since I was a young child (58 now) and sad you cut the video and didn't show it.
Ravine flyer II really warms up as the day goes on. I noticed the significant difference between the beginning of the day and end.
I agree! It ran great towards the end of our visit 👍🏻
Yeah it does I’ve only done it once but it’s fun
Back in 2019 last operating day it rained with no lightning so I rode a dozen times in a row in a downpour and it ran super fast. Holy wow rain in the eyes sting! It was totally dark for the last 5 runs.
As someone who lives in Erie, I go to Waldameer almost everyday, and Idk why but I am stoked to see someone doing a video on it
Lucky but I love going to Erie I live an hour away
Me too!!
Same though
nice. im there tomorrow
I live 30 minutes away from Erie and I go a lot
Congrats, Sam, on your 250th credit.
Whacky Shack and Pirate's Cove are probably the most well preserved Bill Tracy attractions left and we love them so much. Awesome vid!
Always surreal to see people at my home city lol. Glad you had fun!
Haha. Erie for the win! I work at waldameer, its defo a big gem of the city.

@@CoasterDash You're very welcome!
What do you 3 pay for your air fares to all these places you are going? SO jealous you get to do this for a 'job'? lol. Always a fun watch.

Thank you for taking this old lady along I really enjoy your Channel and all your info, thanks again. Marie
Thanks Marie! I really appreciate it.
For some reason, Whacky Shack reminds me so much of Haunted Mansion at Knoebels in Pennsylvania.
They definitely have a lot in common!
You might’ve been there when I went to Lake Erie because I went past that waterpark roller coaster. It has water parks around like four.
Love Waldameer. I work there!
Great videos. Thanks for uploading. Are you heading back to Knoebels again? I'll never forget watching your video from 3 or 4 years ago and seeing the back of our heads as you were apparently sitting right behind us. 😂
Thanks for watching! Since we visited Knoebels last summer, we decided to pass on a visit this trip.
I feel so honored to live here now 😂
I still think an RMC Raptor would be a good fit at this park, they recently bought a bunch of land to build on so here's hoping for 2025.
I’ve thought this for years! Since my first visit in 2019, i’ve thought an RMC Raptor would be a terrific fit here.
the whacky shack smell is the greatest smell in the world
Despite living in Erie for a full year I havent been to this park in 6 years 😂😂😂.
I think Ravine Flyer 2 is better than most GCIs. The only real knock on it is that it is in fact, rough as hell.
I live in Erie and this is my favorite ride at the park
You guys are so cute! Love the dark ride responses.
Looks like a good coaster!
I still think holiday world splash and safari the voyage is the best Because it’s the tallest roller coaster ever
I love Waldameer. It's a great little park. Comet is really fun. Ravine Flyer 2 is awesome. Really like the log flume, music express, and chaos.
How are coaster credits counted? Per ride or per machine?
Per machine 👍🏻
@@CoasterDash awesome thank you 😁
Loved going to Waldameer my entire life
Best intro song 🎧
I WENT TO WATER WORLD YESTERDAY😱
The Comet was so much easier to ride as a child and teen. I am 6'1" so it is a tad painful on the knees if you don't sit sideways.
I would call Ravine Flyer II a mini version of The Voyage at Holiday World.
Ravine Flyer II looks amazing
It’s absolutely spectacular!
I try to always ride Steel Dragon facing backwards. That first hill facing back it so awesome. The worst part is the sudden braking at the end and painful if you don't brace yourself. Yeah it sucks getting old.
Wait a minute. RF3 usually goes through twice. This was built when the RF2 was delayed a year to two because of an environmental impact lawsuit.
I love going to Waldameer. It’s a fun place to go, and Ravine Flyer II is amazing. Been going there every summer since I was really little. I plan to keep going every summer

Your so lucky i want to go really bad
Comet is a ride you can park yourself on for a few hours on a slow day.
Did Ravine Flyer 2 must say its one of the better woody's in the world in my opnion. Not one of the really great ones but just behind that.

It is. I go there every year with my family
I grew up going to Waldameer bc my grandma would have her company picnic there. It’s an amazing park
I rode Ravine Flyer III on the same train as you guys , I was in the back and I was actually getting air 😄 I love the weird dark ride too.
I’m trying to figure out why you keep referring to Erie as so remote? We have two major interstates running through it.
I wouldn’t say most underrated coaster in Pennsylvania, that award goes to phantoms revenge in my opinion
Going here in 2 weeks
Let’s go new video
You need to experience the Ravine Flyer at night. Like Voyage.....it's off the hook! Nice video.
I’d love to try that at some point! Thanks for watching.

THAT FIRST COASTER IS A TINY PHOENIX!
I don't underrate it. It's the general public that underrates it's. RFII is awesome. I'm trying to figure out how to stack Waldemeer with another trip so I can ride it again.
The reaction to the giant rat is really funny.
Gotta checkout Six Flags Baltimore
as an Erie, PA native, i want the whacky shack smell in a candle.
are you aloud to record on these coasters ?
yes, with a chest mounted gopro :)
@@CoasterDash sweet thanks, do u need permission to record backwards facing videos
