    I’ve said it before, i’ll say it again: Apollo’s is a NIGHT RIDE, BACK ROW, TRIMS OFF coaster. It’s top tier when those three conditions are met. 😊

    • @CoasterDash
      @CoasterDash  Год назад +7

      It sounds like a fun time, but I doubt it’d go from a mediocre experience to top-tier

      While you are probably correct, if you apply those same conditions to every other B&M hype they would still probably be better.

    Pantheon was great, besides the launches rattling the train worse than Banshee. I’ve never had a LSM or LIM launch shake like that. But everything else was smooth and had more airtime than I expected.
    That said, my favorite coaster of the day was Verbolten. Such a fun, re rideable family coaster.

    i was here about 2 months ago and I can't agree with you more. It's a gorgeous park with a great coaster lineup and good food too. Also yeah, alpengeist is insane. the whip on the cobra roll has to be one of the most intense moments I've ever felt on any ride. And my god, pantheon was fantastic. A front row ride on that thing is definitely in my top 10.

    I actually met the guy in the video who was wearing the Great Bear shirt. He was at the park the same day that I was there at the end of March. I was asking him if he thought that Pantheon would ever open, and he told me that it wouldn't due to some technical issue. I talked to him for a short while before we split off and went opposite directions in the park. As I had mentioned to you very recently, Pantheon was closed all day when I was there -- so, I have yet to ride it. I think I'll try again this spring -- and hopefully I'll be lucky this time. Busch Gardens is only a six hour drive from where I live, so it's not too far away-- can easily be a long weekend trip. Verbolten is awesome. I love that coaster. I rode it many times throughout the day. Apollo's Chariot is also the weakest B&M hyper I've ever ridden. It's not a bad coaster -- it's just a little too tame and mild for me when it comes to hypers. I really enjoyed Griffon. It was only open for the last hour that I was at the park -- so, I crammed in 4 consecutive rides on it. It was my favorite coaster of the day (since Pantheon was closed). I like Alpengesit a lot. I rode it more than any other coaster in the park -- but it's not one of my favorite B&M inverts. I like the intensity of it, and I really appreciate the height and large inversions. Unfortunately, my two back row rides on it were two of the most painful rides I've had on a roller coaster. For some reason, I was beaten up all over on both of these rides. All my other rides in the front and towards the middle of the trains were completely smooth. Mid-course break-runs on many coasters don't bother me, and on others they do. The mid-course break-run on Alpengeist was one that did bother me a bit -- I didn't care for the way it interrupted the intensity. Still, Alpengeist is certainly a very good coaster. I know that you're not a fan of the Sky Rocket II models, and I can understand how this could be for anyone who doesn't enjoy them. Personally, I like them. They're not a model that I go wild over, but I think they're a lot of fun -- and I enjoyed Tempesto (as I did Tigris). Busch Gardens is such a beautiful park, with some of the more friendly employees I've encountered at a theme park.

    The Pantheon spike blew me away, Griffon was awesome, Verbolton & Dk surprised me how good they were, and Alpengeist was intense but a bit too rough for me. I should've ridden it towards the front though.

    So, I live between Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens. I have season passes to all parks every year. I’ve had some great rides on Pantheon but, was very disappointed with the theming. Especially since it was 2 years late opening due to covid. 305 is my favorite ever. I love the intensity. It really is the best ever.

    I finally got to ride Pantheon today for the first time since it was closed on my visit to BGW in 2023 -- and I loved it. I'm hooked. Two weeks ago, I finally got my first ride on I-305 and I said it was my new number one coaster. Right now, I'm not sure about that -- it may've be unseated by Pantheon. I'm going back to the park tomorrow to get several more rides on Pantheon -- and we'll see if I'll have my mind made up about which of the two coasters I prefer over the other. I do so much appreciate Project (Intimidator) 305 for it's height, insane speed, relentless intensity, and beyond-snappy transitions -- BUT I think I might appreciate Pantheon more for its diversity in its layout -- that insane backward launch that almost ejects you out of the train twice -- what a phenomenal launch (my new favorite launch). Soaring up the spike backwards and hanging there briefly -- especially in the back row -- phenomenal. The top hat -- the two great inversions -- the entire layout is perfect. There's not one second of the ride that I don't find phenomenal. And I could 100 % care less at all about the lack of theming (not that I care about theming on coasters in general anyway) -- Pantheon could be plopped down in the middle of a strip mall parking lot and it wouldn't even phase me given the perfection of the coaster... "How incomplete life would be without Intamin."

    Apollos was faster back in the early - mid 2000s. I'd say the best was 2005-2007. I lived near the park and rode it A LOT. it needs to be updated desperately. In current state of a night only kinda rode. The views make it much more appealing and less boring. Riding Alpengeist at the end of the nightriding continuously (if there's no line in your row) the experience of that after the 3rd trip is unreal!!

    I agree that this is the most underrated (at least of the high tier coasters. I personally have an over the top love of Cobra's Curse but I realize that is my own thing.) But everyone seems to think Pantheon is a disappointment and that it doesn't deliver like it should. I will agree that the presentation of Pantheon is disappointing but the ride itself is phenomenal. I personally prefer it over its BGT counterpart Iron Gwazi. I think it's the third best Intamin steel coaster in the USA after Skyrush and Velocicoaster.
