I had to rewind it because i heard the same thing. And this is the world we live in.
Fun fact: Thunderhawk at Dorney was originally going to be built at Michigan's Adventure; Cedar Fair purchased the park from the Jourden family that built it originally (as Deer Park; yeah, it was a park, with deer you could feed and stuff), then CF cancelled the new coaster, bought it from Morgan, built it at Dorney, and Michigan's Adventure hasn't had a brand new coaster since CF bought it. I'm desperately hoping the Six Flags merger gets somebody off their butts and gives us a new coaster soon. Or at all.

You must mean steel force because Thunderhawk was build in 1924 way before Cedar Fair.
@@Bushwackerinpa yes; sorry! I was watching the video while I was typing and they said Thunderhawk so I typed it! Yes, Steel Force. Another fun fact: Thunderhawk is also the name of the Vekoma SLC that started life as Serial Thriller at Geauga Lake, until Cedar Fair bought the park, closed it, and rebuilt the SLC at... wait for it... MICHIGAN'S ADVENTURE. I know. Weird.

But in all seriousness, that was my first ever time at Dorney Park and I absolutely loved it! I loved all the rides, the atmosphere was great, good operations (I had Fast Lane so lines weren’t an issue), and an overall amazing day. Our thoughts on the park and rides are pretty much the same. I will say, as a Cedar Point local, it was so cool to finally get on Demon Drop! That’s a KILLER drop tower (not a credit) and is probably my favorite drop tower not named Tower of Terror.

heyyy I was at Dorney a couple days before you were. I agree that it's a nice little gem. The skyline is so nice too!
Their rapids ride (Thunder Canyon) is terrific, too. Everyone gets wet. Don't sleep on their classic Enterprise either, which was made in West Germany (before the fall of the Berlin wall.)

Talon also has no midcourse brake-run, so that's a big reason why the second half hauls, as opposed to other inverts.

My favorite thing at Dorney might be their train, the Zephyr. I love the old school stuff like that or the Whip at Dorney.
Ahh dude, if I had to consider any park to be my home park, it'd absolutely have to be Dorney. It's been a while ever since the whole lockdown thing happened but I've been here so many times, it's awesome getting to see it again! Also happy to see some love for Demon Drop, it is absolutely one of the jankiest drop rides I've ever ridden and I wouldn't change it for the world lol

I have no choice, but to drag my friend group here now😃Quite a great coaster line up! I wonder if an Intamin launch coaster could be the missing coaster that would make Dorney stand out or definitely agree on another wooden one. Only 20 more days and then I’ll make sure to get some rides on Pantheon for ya🥳🎢🫰🏻

Thunderhawk got some re track work done a few years ago I rode it last week it was running great for a Century Old ride
Steel force WAS the big headliner when it opened in 1997, bigger than anything Hershey or even Great Adventure had at the time. I remember kids talking about it in my elementary school. Funny that Hershey has way surpassed it now as a coaster park.

We have a version of steel force at world's of fun in Kansas city called the mamba it's literally the same coaster they have alot of the same coasters there as world's of fun in Kansas city interesting and as for prowler I remember riding it the year it came out it's my favorite coaster and world's of fun alot of fun elements especially if you ride it in the dark omg it's amazing lol cause you can't see the track at all i LOVE IT

None of that wood on Thunderhawk looked 100 years old lol. Now to tell myself don’t drive 6 more hours to Dorney after Coastermania Friday. Yeah okay sure. Then as soon as I do that Knoebels is gonna be added to the list too!

I just went to Dorney for the first time last Tuesday! It was a busy day too. I liked Iron Menace, but it definitely did not feel like a new ride!

I kinda think a dive coaster could maybe replace rip ride rockit at universal. They could even theme it to jack the clown lol

I go to allentown to shoot a few times a year and i always got hit up Hershey park once a year spend about 1500 bucks. I love looking at dorney when i drive by but no way im stopping there. The only way i will is if they do a ground up a force one type ride. Something thats so stand out ill stop. With the lineup they have if they added a ride like that i would stop going to hersey

On the ‘Mini Dive’ height. If we’re going above ground then Oblivion is (I think) a 65ft Dive. ;)
If I'm not mistaken Oblivion has the "deepest" drop on any roller coaster, it goes 114ft underground

I went in 2021, I rode all the coasters once, but I did possessed twice. And spent the rest of my day doing the cool flat rides and marathoning demon drop over 15 times. Yes it’s a credit

I think you could! It’d be a shame to miss out on everything else the park has to offer, but if you only care to ride every coaster once, three hours could work. Hit Wild Mouse first 👀
I think demon drop is a credit because Superman is basically the same thing with different seats and a an elevator lift

Dorney Park looks like a nice park. I'll admit that it's a park that I've never put too much interest in. Perhaps, I should visit it next month during my trip to Hershey and Great Adventure. I'm especially interested in Possessed, since I have never experienced a coaster of this model -- and I appreciate the obvious intensity of it. Iron Menace looks like a fun coaster, as does Steel Force. I've heard that Steel Force is one of the better Morgan hypers. Not as good as Phantom's Revenge of course - or Steel Eel. But far better than Wild Thing and better than Mamba as well. I'm quite confident that I would love Talon, given my love for B&M inverts and the fact that the layout looks really good from your footage. Demon Drop is an interesting contraption. I can attest to the intensity of it, since I rode this model of ride back in the day -- Free Fall at Six Flags over Georgia. It definitely shocked me at how jolting the drop was. I certainly wasn't expecting the ride to be so intense. This style of ride really is more like a roller coaster than a flat ride unlike it's present day cousins -- drop towers.
Please do visit during your next trip! Help them get the return on investment they’re looking for with Iron Menace.
@@CoasterDash I think I will take the time to visit Dorney Park, given that it's so close to both Hershey and Great Adventure and more or less in between the two.
lol not gonna lie I hate behemoths colour scheme I which the supports were red or smt lol but it’s still super fun
My only problem with this park is that it is the only cedar fair park with out an elite coaster

How are you able to afford all these road trips?
Add revenue. Get a camera and MacBook and start going to your home park. Gain a following and then if you work hard enough and are lucky. You can travel as well. Either way keep riding and enjoying.
22:36 Demon Drop, by MY accounts, is NOT a roller coaster. It’s not even listed on RCDB.
Neither is Super Splash at Plopsaland. Look it up, it’s so obviously a roller coaster.

@@CoasterDash yea I got a back edge seat lol so literally the roughest spot possible, I was gonna try and go for a front row ride but couldn’t because it started thunderstorming
@@kingdragon3879 Me too, terrible. Left rear, my Griffon seat (well that would be even further out). The vibration felt so weird scared it was a heart attack. Didn't ride again, even with a short line, not sure if would have reconsidered if time permitted. Then loved Possessed.
