@Giggitee O'Yeah Well actually we do have an idea. We have 2 videos, one from Edd where he says nothing bad at all about Brewer and wishes him well, and one where Brewer does nothing but slag Edd off. Its not just about personalities its about what is said on those videos.
Edd is a jumped up mechanic that started to think he could tell the TV producers how to produce TV shows. Edd should have stayed in his box and just fix the cars - that's what he was hired to do It's a common theme in life, people get really good at a skill and then think they can walk on water and apply it to anything. Edd should not worry his head about production matters, after all I'm sure he wouldn't want a cameraman telling him how to skim a cylinder head?
and i agree with you, every time i do some mechanics in my VW Beetle, i ask to myself what the great Ed would do, and when i finish the job and test, i say "that is so fantastic" whit my best british accent possible, altough, my native language is spanish.

Met Edd at a motorsport show a few years ago ,what a genuinely nice guy he is. Interesting,knowledgeable,polite,and totally likeable.It was like chatting to a good friend,you’ve known all your life ,even though I’d never met him before. Edd was Wheeler Dealers,that’s why I watched it. I wish Edd all the best,he deserves it!

One thing is for sure Mike hardly ever restored anything himself and he laughable excuses Eddoes of show boating in front of the camera. You couldn't make that shit up !
Mike was the tea boy? LMAO! You really have no idea do you? It was basically Mike's show. No disrespect to Edd, I like him a lot. But he fixed the cars and that was basically it. Mike decided on the cars, sourced the cars, brought the cars, sourced the parts, wrote the script (direction of the show) produced the show. And the entire premise of the show came from Mike.
Even though I am a woman, I'm a bit of a petrol head and watched the show because of my interest in the mechanical repair section. I never liked Mike as much, the whole boasting car salesman thing got really on my nerves. And now this, after 13 years, and Edd being nothing but a gentleman about the whole affair.....what a shitty thing to say. Seems I judged Mike correctly.
kim jerreat Mike got more FaceTime and appeared to swing the deals. Also fancied himself a producer and vital part of the show. I'm sure he considered Edd his assistant.
It feels like a betrayal, after so many years together, now he speaks ill of the one who was his partner. That tells me a lot about the kind of person Mike is.

The thing that annoyed me most was that always when the car was done and Edd worked his miracles and worked his ass off, it was MIKE who did the testdriving while Edd was always the passenger.. This pisses me off greatly. First of all, Edd China has been a total gentlemen on public camera and never slagged Mike off once, no matter how dire the situation was between them. And Mike just completely shit talks the guy making him out to be some kind of spoilt egotistical arsehole that just wants fame. And the thing is, Mike, you may be RIGHT about Edd, we don't see that side that you see, but when someone goes "What happened with Edd", just be bigger and say "We went our separate ways, stuff happened, I wish him well". I think Edd is being truthfull and Mike isn't.
I would'be never watched the show without Edd fixing the cars. Couldn't care two fucks about Mike and his "ultimate skill of finding a car and buying it".
Irrespective of how Ed has or hasn't behaved, you can see which one is the professional and which one isn't. Ed was very supportive of the show after he left and if Mike got grief over this then he brought it on himself.

Until he moved the shop to cali and begun acting like a greedy fuck. He does know how to sell cars and was surprised he knew how to work on cars after they moved to cali but, edd was not himself and i noticed he was giving mike shit for bringing him stupid cars and ideas. I knew something was up when edd looked like he hated mike,the show, the greediness. But come on man. Edd is a mechanical Guinness and mike and velocity are retards for parting ways with him. He should be thanking edd China not slamming him. Fucking dick face. The new show is not the same. Ant has no personality and is Mike's shop bitch.
This just confirms the opinion I had formed of Mike while watching the show was correct. He come across as the sort of person you would come across on an iffy back street car lot. Always enjoyed watching Edd work his magic and have not watched it since he left.
The mechanic makes this show. Edd was a brilliant mechanic, and truly a very informative host. Ant does a great job too. He is different than Edd, but good and does a good job guiding the viewer along. Mike, is just the exhaust. He makes the noise, and is necessary in a way. Sadly, Mike doesn't understand that he should keep his personal opinions about Edd or anyone else to himself.

Yes he has. He CLEARLY blames Mike for what he saw as a reduction in his screen time, which never happened!! Edd probably left because of money. What, $200k per episode isn't enough? Edd lost it. Series 13 was CLEAR evidence that is exactly what was happening. The huge negative response to series 13 and Edd's departure because of the reduced amount of mechanical content must have made Velocity have a rethink. Did you see the LUV episode, or how little of work they showed on the '73 Camaro compared to how much work actually went into it!? Ant also said on Twitter that he was planning to make sure more mechanical work was show. So maybe Ant influenced it, or maybe even demanded it during contract negotiations.
I've watched every series and S13 was easily the worst. You can tell that the show had gotten a lot bigger than it was and things were changed too much to suit the US market. Too much talking and scripted conversations to create "drama" or "entertainment". Too much fake comedy and entire areas of a revamp missing (there are numerous episodes where the interior needed repairing but the process wasn't actually shown unlike in any series pre-S13 where everything they said needed doing, was shown). As mentioned, the Chevy Luv episode was terrible. Interestingly, the best episodes are the ones with the most repairs shown in the greatest detail because you can still see Edd's enthusiasm in these episodes. Can't say I will carry on watching the rest but hopefully they sort it out and good luck to Ant Antstead. At least they got in somebody decent to replace Edd and I liked watching his work in "For The Love of Cars" on Channel 4 here in the UK. Just dial back all the crowbarred-in comedy and scripted banter...use the time to show repairs and the educational stuff that made WD great in the first place.
its a shame about wheeler dealers ! i loved the programme! i actually enjoyed watching them both, but loved the mechanics with ed and learnt a lot and got the confidence to work on jobs i would have never attempted before !! i felt somtimes there was some animosity between them both, but everyone disagrees about something sometimes! its sad to hear mike brewer talking about edd china like that! sometimes even if we think it we should keep it to ourselves, i feel mike brewer has only harmed the way people view him now ! i wish them both well and thank you for a great programme when you were together! sad caped crusader.

Most don't know what actually happened but 99% take Edd's side because he's the special one who cannot do any wrong. I like the guy but mikes not the bad person everyones making out.
This show would be a lot better if Brewer was someone who could apply technical expertise alongside the person he dumps all the work on. As has been said, anyone can be a used car sales person. Expecting anyone, week after week, to fix/upgrade vehicles without help from the 'star of the show' would wear anyone down. To me, the real stars of the show are the ones who actually do all the work on the vehicles.

All I heard was TRUTH. FACT. Edd was burned out, whiny, and was not the same Edd that I enjoyed watching the first 8 seasons or so. He became extremely burned out. Give the job to a guy who wants it! And they did- Ant.
You missed the point totally. Even if you are spot on (which I doubt), you don't go bad mouthing your former partners to complete strangers at a car show with people filming. What always struck me about Ed was how well spoken he was and articulate when explaining the logic and reason for his actions when working on a car. Ed is a natural presenter and could probably present on any show about any subject, whereas Mike struggles with his grammar and pronunciation and has difficulty saying the word THREE. Mike has missed the point, WD was a tv show not a real garage set up, if they took into account Ed's labour costs and expertise, they would have made a loss on every car they touched. The point of the show was demonstrate Ed's abilities to diagnose, repair and bring back cars to their former glory. Perhaps Ed doesn't need the money any more but it would be a shame if he doesn't stay on our screens, he has a lot to offer.

Edd was great on Wheeler Dealers as he showed enthusiast types how to maintain and improve their own cars with cheap fixes and useful hints how to solve problems without spending ridiculous amounts of money on them.
I'm starting to come to the conclusion Edd was pushed out by Mike to make way for Ant. If you have ever seen wheeler dealers live at the NEC classic car show, ever wondered why Ant was always up on stage with Mike? Mike treated him as a co-presenter on that stage. This was well before Edd left. Such a shame. Seeing Edd being so gracious, and Mike peddling poison like this, I know who I am inclined to believe. Shame on you Mike Brewer.

I have to say i have never seen him do anything that is that special people are making him out to be some kind of genius lol when really he his a good mechanic and has built some daft motorized furniture and sheds nothing that amazing engineering wise. I always liked the show, but it was just what people do day in day out in the car world doing up cars and selling them and iirc they often had to fake the sales and the money they got out of it for the show as no one wanted to buy their creations.
Mike Brewer is just a bullshitter,Ed China was the one who did the hard work,thanks to Ed I have learned a lot about the intricacies of engine rebuilding,welding and prepping before painting.It was a treat watching Ed explaining every step of his work,now,after watching that new guy,I don't think I will be watching Wheeler Dealers anymore.
I met ed in person and he wasnt very nice I used to work in Screwfix and I politely asked if I could have an autograph and instead of politely declining he went off on one started calling me names and asked to see my manager and complained about me. My manager said he was just a male Karen and didn't pursue the complaint

Edd is a genius mechanic and a gentleman, period. I used to record WD program, fast forward the car deal part and watch only Edd's magic. Edd has 4 Guiness records to his credit. He did not 'become star of the show', 'he was the star of the show'. Every comment made in this section disagrees of what Mike said about Edd.
It's obvious that the feelings were still raw at the point this was taken. Whatever you think of Mike, he and Edd were the best of friends before the show moved on. They both put their heart and souls into it and when things change, it can be hard to keep everyone happy. If you look at Edds video asking people to remain respectful, please do so cos there's some people who have taken it too far. Move on and if you can't, watch the repeats :)
Shows how little you know. Mike did most of the work on the show, ran it all. It was HIS show. Ed was just the mechanic and u obviously just see him more in front of the camera. The main work of all shows is done behind the camera

You will be whining too if the producers wanted to cut the scenes out that made the show what it is....the detailed workshop scenes and the process of fixing a certain part was what made WD different from the typical car show.

The fact that Mike is constantly blinking, losing eye contact and keeps looking down is a VERY strong indication he is bullshitting. Edd's voice was genuine when he spoke about his reason for leaving, he's not full of himself, he's on point, he's focused - I think we all know who is telling the truth.
The angry comments obviously come from Edd-China-only fans. The thing you forget is that it wasn't Edd China Show. It was Wheeler Dealers. It's a two-man package deal. And I have to say I REALLY like Ant. I wanted to hate him after Edd left, but I just couldn't. He and Mike are doing a great job and they also did something Edd obviously didn't care about - made sure the show I love goes on. I wish Edd every bit of luck, and I really hope he finds new formats and new outlets. He was a valuable part of the show and I thank him for that. Now I'll just keep watching Wheeler Dealers with Mike and -Ant- Elvis.

I just started watching the show, I never knew about Velocity until 3 months ago. When I started watching WD Ant was making the shows. Then I saw a show with Edd and was like they changed the Mechanic? Lol Well it was the other way around lol. Anyways, still watching it.
I dont think a show went by when Mike was telling Ed how hard he Mike has been working when someone keeps telling you that you know they have been doing jack shit or very little.
Honestly, Mike is just a mouthpiece - and that’s not an insult, but he’s just a character. Ed was the ‘body’ of the program - and now he’s left, Ant is the ‘body’. Interesting, Mike was holding his tongue a bit here, we haven't heard the whole story. I did have the pleasure of calling Mike Brewer once when working as a researcher for a PR firm, unlike most of the celebs I would get in touch with he was very down to earth and happy to help and understood what we were doing and why and how it helped him. I remember he was doing the vacuuming when I called, his wife answered and put him on the phone. So if nothing else I know Mike is the sort of chap who does his bit with the chores at home with a smile on his face and a cheery attitude. Hope that provides a bit of context for everyone. I also love Edd's work, so I think there is a little element of Beatlemania here where all the outsiders just cant understand why the dream team isn't together anymore *shrugs*. It should also be noted that both Edd and Mike by this point are TV stars; neither is a mechanic or a used car dealer, they are both performers. Anyone who maintains that there is more than 50% reality in "reality" TV shows is deluding themselves. Its closer to 5%, if that.

Everybody I know that used to watch the show before Ed China's departure has stopped watching it, myself included as it is in no way better.
The thing that annoyed me most was that always when the car was done and Edd worked his miracles and worked his ass off, it was MIKE who did the testdriving while Edd was always the passenger.. The mechanic makes this show. Edd was a brilliant mechanic, and truly a very informative host. Ant does a great job too. He is different than Edd, but good and does a good job guiding the viewer along. Mike, is just the exhaust. He makes the noise, and is necessary in a way. Sadly, Mike doesn't understand that he should keep his personal opinions about Edd or anyone else to himself.

Series 13 was CLEAR evidence that is exactly what was happening. The huge negative response to series 13 and Edd's departure because of the reduced amount of mechanical content must have made Velocity have a rethink. Did you see the LUV episode, or how little of work they showed on the '73 Camaro compared to how much work actually went into it!?
Ant also said on Twitter that he was planning to make sure more mechanical work was show. So maybe Ant influenced it, or maybe even demanded it during contract negotiations.

I've watched every series and S13 was easily the worst. You can tell that the show had gotten a lot bigger than it was and things were changed too much to suit the US market. Too much talking and scripted conversations to create "drama" or "entertainment". Too much fake comedy and entire areas of a revamp missing (there are numerous episodes where the interior needed repairing but the process wasn't actually shown unlike in any series pre-S13 where everything they said needed doing, was shown).
As mentioned, the Chevy Luv episode was terrible. Interestingly, the best episodes are the ones with the most repairs shown in the greatest detail because you can still see Edd's enthusiasm in these episodes.
Can't say I will carry on watching the rest but hopefully they sort it out and good luck to Ant Antstead. At least they got in somebody decent to replace Edd and I liked watching his work in "For The Love of Cars" on Channel 4 here in the UK. Just dial back all the crowbarred-in comedy and scripted banter...use the time to show repairs and the educational stuff that made WD great in the first place.
its a shame about wheeler dealers ! i loved the programme! i actually enjoyed watching them both, but loved the mechanics with ed and learnt a lot and got the confidence to work on jobs i would have never attempted before !! i felt somtimes there was some animosity between them both, but everyone disagrees about something sometimes! its sad to hear mike brewer talking about edd china like that! sometimes even if we think it we should keep it to ourselves, i feel mike brewer has only harmed the way people view him now ! i wish them both well and thank you for a great programme when you were together! sad caped crusader.

You can't blame a man for getting arsey considering the amount of abuse he gets on a daily basis online and in his face, actual threats of violence from sad Edd devotees, just because someone left a show who was great but was getting a bit big headed. Most don't know what actually happened but 99% take Edd's side because he's the special one who cannot do any wrong. I like the guy but mikes not the bad person everyones making out.
This show would be a lot better if Brewer was someone who could apply technical expertise alongside the person he dumps all the work on. As has been said, anyone can be a used car sales person. Expecting anyone, week after week, to fix/upgrade vehicles without help from the 'star of the show' would wear anyone down. To me, the real stars of the show are the ones who actually do all the work on the vehicles.

You missed the point totally. Even if you are spot on (which I doubt), you don't go bad mouthing your former partners to complete strangers at a car show with people filming. What always struck me about Ed was how well spoken he was and articulate when explaining the logic and reason for his actions when working on a car. Ed is a natural presenter and could probably present on any show about any subject, whereas Mike struggles with his grammar and pronunciation and has difficulty saying the word THREE. Mike has missed the point, WD was a tv show not a real garage set up, if they took into account Ed's labour costs and expertise, they would have made a loss on every car they touched. The point of the show was demonstrate Ed's abilities to diagnose, repair and bring back cars to their former glory. Perhaps Ed doesn't need the money any more but it would be a shame if he doesn't stay on our screens, he has a lot to offer.

Edd was great on Wheeler Dealers as he showed enthusiast types how to maintain and improve their own cars with cheap fixes and useful hints how to solve problems without spending ridiculous amounts of money on them.

I'm starting to come to the conclusion Edd was pushed out by Mike to make way for Ant. If you have ever seen wheeler dealers live at the NEC classic car show, ever wondered why Ant was always up on stage with Mike? Mike treated him as a co-presenter on that stage. I always liked the show, but it was just what people do day in day out in the car world doing up cars and selling them and iirc they often had to fake the sales and the money they got out of it for the show as no one wanted to buy their creations.

I met ed in person and he wasnt very nice I used to work in Screwfix and I politely asked if I could have an autograph and instead of politely declining he went off on one started calling me names and asked to see my manager and complained about me. He did not 'become star of the show', 'he was the star of the show'. Every comment made in this section disagrees of what Mike said about Edd.
It's obvious that the feelings were still raw at the point this was taken. Whatever you think of Mike, he and Edd were the best of friends before the show moved on. They both put their heart and souls into it and when things change, it can be hard to keep everyone happy.
If you look at Edds video asking people to remain respectful, please do so cos there's some people who have taken it too far. Move on and if you can't, watch the repeats :)

nice to see someone still sticking up for the mate they worked together with for so many years, obviously it is not mike brewer if you see the clip of Edd telling people to lay off mike and his family and being gracious about the wheeler series it is no wonder viewers will be switching off in their droves and after watching every series I certainly will not be viewing this next run, looks like you will be back to your day job soon mike selling second hand motors and I will be deleting your you tube app as well,sometimes things don't work out but be gracious because you don't know who you will meet on the way down

You will be whining too if the producers wanted to cut the scenes out that made the show what it is....the detailed workshop scenes and the process of fixing a certain part was what made WD different from the typical car show.

The fact that Mike is constantly blinking, losing eye contact and keeps looking down is a VERY strong indication he is bullshitting. Edd's voice was genuine when he spoke about his reason for leaving, he's not full of himself, he's on point, he's focused - I think we all know who is telling the truth.
I used to see every show from wheeler dealers, but now Edd is gone, my interest is also gone...

The angry comments obviously come from Edd-China-only fans. The thing you forget is that it wasn't Edd China Show. It was Wheeler Dealers. It's a two-man package deal. And I have to say I REALLY like Ant. I wanted to hate him after Edd left, but I just couldn't. He and Mike are doing a great job and they also did something Edd obviously didn't care about - made sure the show I love goes on. I wish Edd every bit of luck, and I really hope he finds new formats and new outlets. He was a valuable part of the show and I thank him for that. Now I'll just keep watching Wheeler Dealers with Mike and -Ant- Elvis.

When Edd left, the show died. It didn’t matter who the new ‘mechanic’ was, it was never the same and certainly I never watched it again.

Ed when questioned about Mike he was very mutual and wasn’t bitter or negative about Mike. That’s the best attitude, a man who is much more careful with his words.
Boy-o-boy, Mike really showed his true colors in this clip. You may disagree with a friend you worked with, but you keep your opinions to yourself when you’re in public and especially if you may be recorded. Mike Brewer really threw himself under the bus with this one. While I think that Ant is talented, I wonder just how much work he actually preforms on the vehicles they refurbish. Looking forward to seeing Ed’s new show.

I just started watching the show, I never knew about Velocity until 3 months ago. When I started watching WD Ant was making the shows. Then I saw a show with Edd and was like they changed the Mechanic? Lol Well it was the other way around lol. Anyways, still watching it.

I dont think a show went by when Mike was telling Ed how hard he Mike has been working when someone keeps telling you that you know they have been doing jack shit or very little.
Honestly, Mike is just a mouthpiece - and that’s not an insult, but he’s just a character. Ed was the ‘body’ of the program - and now he’s left, Ant is the ‘body’.
So here’s my take on this - Wheeler Dealers with Ed & Ant would be fantastic! If Mike isn’t part of that, no big deal - just get another mouthpiece.

Interesting, Mike was holding his tongue a bit here, we haven't heard the whole story. I did have the pleasure of calling Mike Brewer once when working as a researcher for a PR firm, unlike most of the celebs I would get in touch with he was very down to earth and happy to help and understood what we were doing and why and how it helped him. I remember he was doing the vacuuming when I called, his wife answered and put him on the phone. So if nothing else I know Mike is the sort of chap who does his bit with the chores at home with a smile on his face and a cheery attitude. Hope that provides a bit of context for everyone.
I also love Edd's work, so I think there is a little element of Beatlemania here where all the outsiders just cant understand why the dream team isn't together anymore *shrugs*.
It should also be noted that both Edd and Mike by this point are TV stars; neither is a mechanic or a used car dealer, they are both performers. Anyone who maintains that there is more than 50% reality in "reality" TV shows is deluding themselves. Its closer to 5%, if that.
Sorry Mike Brewer was the worst part of the show, a cheap Arthur Daly.
