Wheeler Dealers is a British TV series centered around petrolhead mechanics as they travel the country searching for vintage cars. Most of the vehicles they find are usually at the end of their lifespan, and the crew works to restore them to what they once were before selling them for a profit.
At the inception of the TV series, Mike Brewer and Edd China were the presenters for 13 seasons. From 2003 to 2017, they both worked to make the TV series their most famous television work. However, after 13 years, Edd China announced his exit from Wheeler Dealers. Join us as we examine what really happened between Mike Brewer and Edd China. Why did this lengthy, beautiful partnership have to end?

Looking at various clips of them both talking about it, Mike's quite happy to talk crap about Edd, whereas Edd has never spoken badly of Mile. He even came to Mike's defence about the death threats he was getting. Edd's mature addressing of the situation on his RUclips channel seems good enough for me.

As a mechanic foe over 40 years some of the stuff Edd did was pretty cool!! Mike on the other hand was not he was a good talking head. Edd was the main part of the show because he was the fixer guy and Mike was the talker guy!
both Mike and Edd are good people here in Italy very appreciated for a very popular television program called "Affari a quattroruote"
If I were in the United Kingdom I would certainly entrust Edd with the maintenance work on my splendid and inseparable Ford Corsair V4 GT from 1968, a car which was jealously preserved by my father.

Yea, I'm a another of the no doubt many people that just couldn't watch this show after Edd left. Just wasn't the same show any more.
Also, Edd is a great guy, so you can't really help but love him. Also, to this day, holds a world speed record..for the fastest speed ever driven by a motorized bed.
i am one of them..as the show's name..wheeler dealer..wheeler comes first...ppl are more keen to watch ed to fix or upgrade those classic cars... that's the main theme for the show.. not mike selling the car in the end...not many ppl care how much mike sold the car

Never had a car, never even had a licence, still loved *every* minute of Edd's tips.
Even if, I am sorry to say, I have since forgotten them in the intervening years.

At the end, and for many people, Ed was right, he was the star of the show, and Mike couldnt face it... The arrogance of that chubby man by saying "he was just a mechanic", yes Mike, and you were what? a weasel....
Never understood what Mike(the chubby man) did. Found cars on the internet and picked them up. Anyone with a driver's license can do that.
Then bought a part for the car or had it processed like rims, which anyone can do that too.
What Ed was able to do and know, what he has accumulated over many years and experience and how to convey it well to the viewer, only the least can do that.
So much for the topic he was just the mechanic ^^

@@Fuchsfeuerhe didnt even do that, the researchers and production team did it, Mike is just there for the filming... the sale at the end was staged too, its a t.v show.

@@chrisjones2224 so you dont think these shows ever use stooges when needed?...its a brilliant t.v show, but do you think mike hunted a car down on his own each week, sent an ad off to a magazine or a web site after the car was done up?
Some of the buyers were clearly plants, IMO...delve a bit deeper into it on the net.
Do you think shows like Pawn Stars and storage wars are legit too??
Edd China is acts like your daily mechanic and friend but behind it he is a genius and talented top master, none of any technican makes me revence and suprising like him
Edd China was the better of the two by far. I quit watching when Edd left.

My 75 year old home bound oved daddy loved this show, clearly Edd was the star, humble trustworthy mechanic, mike was just a typical salesman and politician. The powers that be forgot why people watched

I find Brewer a little shyyt, arrogance comes out of his mouth at it's highest level.
To me it seemed that the show lost its way when it went to the States. I couldn't work out who the show was for. Not me.
I agree .. though some of the conversins when they went home were cool
Only watched it because of Ed's cool problem solving...a motoring legend!
I liked Ed the best. Love his RUclips channel. The show made them both household names. I think Ed handled the situation the best of the 2 of them.
Don't like watching it without ed mike portrays as a con man with the patter and silly smile its not the same without ed explaining in detail what he was doing
Mike kept stealing and eating all Edds packed lunch from the fridge … the final straw came when on Edds birthday cheeky Mike ate his whole birthday cake not leaving a single crumb!! . Edd then quit , true story , facts

Edd got p*ssed off with Brewers sarky remarks , fair play.
The new wheeler dealer they are 100 percent not as detailed as they use to be that is face because I catch it from time to time and things just happened without really being explained and most of the stuff they do kno especially in the Ant era most home mechanic don’t have these crazy special tools Edd had a more down to earth approach

same storyline as the other one about Elvis Priestley does it actually get around to explaining what happened or is it just like the other one a C.V. its clickbait - what a waste of time .

I know only that there was once a brilliant program that created a kind if clown v genius formula in a way perhaps little different to those couplings in comedy and echoed in shows like the later Car SOS.
Edd left and I absutely believe he had good reason.
I watched a few of the subsequent episodes with other mechanics but sorry - it never worked thereafter. In the split, Edd was always professional and very polite about Mike. Mike has never been either. Even in a recent interview he was deeply unprofessional and unpleasant with a superficially positive remark being followed instantly with a nasty qualification.
It is very sad.
Edd is a superb mechanic and a charming individual.
I am sure Mike is good at what he does.
Seems like Edd did what he had to do because he wasn’t happy and mike was the butt hurt one and traitor for talking on the internet and not to his face Edd has personality unlike these new guys Ant was just to happy all the time like he’s fake reality tv show guy from mtv and this new guy Elvis just exist
The short story is that we didn't watch the show for him going around flogging used cars. It literally takes 0 skills to be a used car salesman. 0. We watched it in hope for Edd showing us something that we could fix ourselves and learn something new.
Mike has always come across ( to me ) as an arrogant s.o.b. and frankly I'm surprised that ANY of the 'main' mechanic guys stayed beyond one show each.
I've watched this show long enough to come to the conclusion Mein Fuher brewer is a meglamanic.and if you don't agree unconditionally you are out.brewer likes to come across as an easy going nice guy when in fact he'd probably Knock you over if you stood in his way.I still watch the program simply for the car's I liked Ant and now Marc (Elvis) .I wish Elvis well i think he'll have his work cut out meeting the demand's from brewer.
From Edd’s explanation it was the suits that took over from attaboy that decided that the detailed workshop parts were too hard to shoot and they asked him to cut corners to save them money. There’s not a lot Mike could have done in that situation
I see no one mentioned the pic of Mike brewer, lol ridiculous, it just doesn't look like him at all. Why fake the pictures

one thing i will say is mike did not deserve the amount of crap he had i loved edd but also love mike as well and the new Elvis is just great also just people need to get over it and stop with the remarks of mike i love wheeler dealers and still watch it but when Ant came along i stopped watching couldn't stand him
Enjoyed when Edd China was on . But when Ant came on stopped watching it . But along came Elvis back to watching again

It’s personal. We are just consumers. It’s nothing to do with us. It was a great show, with great presenters. It still is a great show and I wish them both all the best If they had words it’s nothing to do with us

Mike was a pain in the arse worst part of the show was when Mike was on screen.
All the knownowts slagging Brewer off without knowing the facts, if China was such a master mechanic, how come no other show snapped him up, how come he is reduced to his youtube channel?
His choice bud. Why would he waste his time on another show when he has a platform to do what he wants with?

@@chrisjones2224 primarily from ed chinas own mouth mate. He’s never mentioned even being remotely interested in going back into TV work at any point since he left. But you tell yourself whatever you need to to delude yourself.
Sorry but I don’t see Edd innocent in all this. If he wanted to leave coz he wasn’t happy he should have just done so but he decided to lay blame at Mike’s and the production company’s door and bring animosity towards them.
If he hadn’t done that and just left peacefully he might well have his own show on another network but the fact is years later no network will touch him and he is relegated to posting videos on RUclips whilst WD still goes on.
People are wrong when they say WD is nothing without EDD, Ant and Elvis that came after him are just as good and just as well knowledgable and the show works due to the combination of the mechanical side as well as the buying selling etc, one wouldn’t work without the other. Testament to this is the fact that the show still goes on. I think Edd thought he was bigger / more important than he actually is (no pun intended).
