this is when frank came out of retirement. he thought he was done due to problems with vocal cords. then he walked onto stage at madison sq. gdn and pulled this off. every critic could barely believe the change in the voice. he hit everything on a perfect interpretation. i thought it was a miracle and wasn't alone. he packed the place with the greats and they all loved it and him. see the whole thing !
I was So Blessed To Attend This Concert Frank Sinatra Comeback from Retirement I was in the 5th Row Damn Near Impossible Every Celebrity Dignitary was there to witness This Great Artist Return and NO ONE was DISAPPOINTED HE Was FANTABULOUS
Yesterday we lost Jerry Weintraub. Sinatra called him asking him to do for him what he did with Elvis. Jerry is the guy walking with Sin in the tux side by side. He put the whole thing together and Sinatra kind of just showed up no rehearsal. Mr. Weintraub was a hero to many and Hollywood got a lot less interesting yesterday....Rest in peace Mr. Weintraub.
and then there's this. his fans were hoping he could pull it off so he starts with lady a little soft and the crowd loves it but then his voice gains strength and it becomes an unbelievable performance.

Audio of LADY/TRAMP 6 days earlier 10-7-74 (Phila/Spectrum) by that same Woody Band w/Frank. The quality of this recording is better and clearer than the one of The Main Event 10-13-74 MSQ/NYC: ruclips.net/video/BpyBzM0e9T8/видео.html
This special was produced by TV Sports Inc., which (in addition to the MSG setting) gives this production the appearance of a vintage televised prize fight.
That opening "Lady is a Tramp" is a classic. There's a fella in Germany who does a Sinatra tribute show. Instead of doing a generic "Lady," he and his live band do this version - the one with free, fine, wild, knock-out, koo-koo, groovy wind. Heads up: the Sinatra Centennial Year is 2015!
Esta canción es la que más veces suena en la peli de Woody "Cafe Society". Esta es la versión definitiva en vivo. En la peli es con un precioso piano muy elegante.
3:29 The person who directed the "Sinatra: The Main Event" concert was Bill Carruthers. In the 1980's, he created, executive produced, & Directed a show called "Press Your Luck."
Well actually, you do. They're called professionals. It's even more difficult recording take after take in a sterile studio and having to recreated every note with the enthusiasm that it's your first run through.
The only performer who ever lived who could control the audience with a wave of his hand.
Dean Martin?
Sammy Davis Jr?
Elvis Presley...
I don't know of any artist who could pull this off today.
A Master Class in “owning” your audience.

The live atmosphere in this special, and on the album can only be described as electric

The absolute greatest of all time. Nobody touches Sinatra.

I am so glad this video is unblocked, watching him perform like this and the crowd brings a tear to my eye.
I always get the chills from this video!

Doesn't have the spirit of this version.
For some criticals here: It is never only the voice,it's the interpretation and the personality!
Absolutely genius technique!
