Usually I never use RUclips to make comments etc., but I just wanted to say that after like three years of following you you still are the best RUclipsr out there! You are so smart, so educated, so sweet, so humble and polite that it’s basically a privilege to follow you. Thanks for opening my eyes on many serious subjects I wouldn’t have thought about if it wasn’t for you, and thanks for keeping me company in all these years since I often rewatch your videos when I’m feeling down or alone! You are the perfect example that not all youtubers necessarily need to ONLY be talking about superficial things and that if taken seriously this can be a serious job and a good way to make people reflect about important matters. Sorry for the long comment and bad English but after years of appreciating your work that kept getting better and better and your lovely personality I just wanted to say something. Have a good day Lucy and thanks again. 🌿🌾

hi! i'm under 18 but act 5 so this might seem somewhat childish to any older viewers but my psychologist had me put together a sensory box that had all 5 senses to focus on during a panic attack or any emotional dysregulation so for example i have a little music box for sound one of those kids scented things for smell a little ball of slime for touch (i also have a small fluffy stuffed animal for touch and once again because i'm basically 5) i'm not sure weather this will help anyone else but it's really helped me so thought i'd share! xx 😊❤️

Sweetpea, I'm nearly 27 and I still sleep with a stuffed teddy; I have a tin filled with stim toys. If that means i'm childish, then i'm happy to be seen to be childish.

Thank you for sharing these tips! It is quite helpful :) you are NEVER too old to use grounding techniques. I am 27 and still sleep with a blanket my grandma gave me the year she passed away. Can't sleep properly without it. It's the only thing that grounds me when my stress level goes over what I can handle and makes me feel an instant comfort. It calms me down when I'm mad and consoles me when I am sad. It doesn't even really look like a blanket anymore, it's more like a rag but I cant part away from it. I even have to bring it on plane rides with me and any time I sleep away from home for more than 2 days. People used to tell me, especially after I graduated high school that I should really stop using it and were making me feel like it wasn't normal and childish to still be so attached to a blanket. Now I realize that it is a blessing to have something so precious that helps me get through rough times and helps me sleep better. If you are lucky enough to find something wholesome on this earth that helps you deal with any emotional distress then you have hit the jackpot!

love this idea! i also found a tik tok the other where a woman was having a panic attack and used a fluffy blanket to wrap tightly around herself so it felt like a hug, and it stops your body from panicking. just a tip for some people to try out maybe! X

Having a cuppa and listening to your thoughts on a Sunday is honestly one of my fave ways to spend time 👌
Also a thought that occurred to me this week: 2020 has been the year of self care and actually looking after your mental health. I'm just hoping that when it all goes back to normal I'll still carve out the time to actually take care of myself haha

Hi! Great idea for a video, been going back to it a few times for inspiration cause i also deal with anxiety so it seems smart to have a few tools to apply on bad mental health days. Also, this is a random comment but just wanted to say that i liked how you started your video by saying that the video was sponsored and that you would go back to it later on. That way us viewers know what to expect but at the same time aren’t ”forced” to immediately hear about the sponsorship when we wanna get to the actual video! Not hating on the fact that RUclipsrs have sponsors in their videos, i get why. I just thought your way of structuring the video was good! :)

It’s so important to work out your own ‘self care toolbox’. I’ve been having a bit of a down week and after chatting with friends I realised I’d been doing my positive habits less (e.g morning yoga, reading, collaging) and doing my negative habits more (social media, reading the news a lot etc). And once I’d become conscious of this I could then adjust and in the last couple of days I’ve started to feel better

Totally agree with you about reading! I've been reading loads in lockdown and mostly on my kindle (because I didn't have access to a library anymore) - it sounds so silly but it's so nice to have something very portable that I can read with one hand lying down

As another ENFP I really feel all of this. Been feeling resistant to journalling (haven't done it in over 5 years) because I feel like I have to write down EVERYTHING that happened since the last time I journalled which is ??????? Also I really feel like your narrating style has changed and has become more mature, it's so nice to listen to you telling stories and anecdotes, I feel like you're 'better' at this than a couple of years ago.

This video was so nice and calming thank you. Also I love journaling it took me a while to really get into it but last August I made a real effort to journal every day for 30 days and now it has really stuck. Sometimes I miss a few days but I always go back and my journal really feels like a safe space that I can turn to anywhere and anytime when I need to calm my thoughts, make a decision or process something.
Filling up a while notebook is also really satisfying.

Thanks for the lovely video! I just thought I’d share that Spotify released an episodic audiobook version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s (/Philosopher’s for the UK people 😉) a few months ago. Its read by a whole variety of famous people. I listen to it before going to sleep or when I’m feeling particularly anxious. It’s so calming and comforting. One thing that can help with anxiety is remembering that while it is happening in your body, that is just a reaction to what your brain does. This means that your brain also has the power to stop it. Which means YOU have the power to stop it.

    Hey Lucy !
Loved the video, it was so calming and soothing... The part about journaling really reminded me that I should do it more often, because it also helps take away the pressure of remembering important events and memories, which can take a significant toll on your well being !
I may have a slight issue with your video, with the Harry Potter charm you mentioned. Somehow with all that's been going on with rowling it feels difficult to even mention the series just for its merits (as you say, it helped a lot of people). That part of the video made me a bit uncomfortable, even though I understand why you would want to solely talk about the books and not the whole discussion on rowling herself in the video.
I would also understand if you'd want to moderate your comment section and erase this comment, I fully understand that this is a complicated topic where you can get a lot of harrassment and hatred thrown your way.
Does any of my comment make sense ? I don't know, but it's a minor part of an overall great video, as always !
    Take care of yourselves guys.

    • @lucymoon
      @lucymoon  3 года назад +5

Totally hear you on this - as I was filming and editing I did wonder if I should even mention HP as I’m so disappointed by all the new information we now have about JK’s beliefs around basic human rights. I didn’t think I could address it well during a brief mention of Harry Potter so I decided to leave it - not sure it was the right call tbh. If you are reading this now, please know that protecting trans rights and lives is vital and there is no room for discussion or devils advocates on that topic. ❤️

@@lucymoon thank you so much for answering ! The question of mentionning hp or not is part of a very complex discussion, it can't be easy for you to know how to behave as an influencer, so i'm grateful that you clarified your stance ! All identities are valid ❤

Lucy, I really don't mean to be rude and I really love your videos, but lately the spon content feels a bit "forced". I don't really know how to put it, but it felt a bit like it was jammed in there, kinda divided the vid in half. I'm not a youtuber so I don't know what would be the best way to solve this, and I'm sorry if this isn't constructive. In the past you've incorporated the ads into the video much better, maybe you had specific conditions to meet for these pandora ads and that's why it feels a bit awkward. Otherwise I loved the video, it felt very cozy, like I was just getting advice from a friend :)

Hi Lucy! I love your videos. I'm curious as to why you (and Pandora, honestly) are promoting a Harry Potter themed charm when that would presumably put money into the pockets of a woman who has demonstrated herself to be so transphobic? I understand that you have to talk about the charms, but why choose that one in particular to highlight?
