Whaaaaaaat!? Seeing you struggle with the tape is half the fun! 😉😆😂
Had a couple of 1/48 Hasegawa F4U-5, 5-NL from Japan a couple of weeks ago, which had me struggling, even more so when I got inside the boxes, it was that nicely packaged I felt bad cutting it open! 😆😂
Cracking unboxing young Padawan....may the Force be with you! 🖖🏻
    Edit: You'll love the Bulldog!

I’d be really surprised if there’s only one more new tool release from Airfix for the rest of the year. We’re at the middle of June and basically all the new tool announcements from January are released or imminent (the Me 109F starter kit was released this past Friday, and the Shannon class lifeboat is due any day). The only other new tool that was announced is the starter set Typhoon FGR.4, which Airfix said would not be available until the end of 2024, early 2025. I find it hard to believe there will only be one new tool kit released in the second half of the year, although there are still some reboxes with new marking options to come.

If you’re not doing the B-24 in any of the kit schemes, note that all the Liberators with Phil Brinkman’s Zodiac nose art were Hs of the 486th Bomb Group. Apparently, there was artwork for every Zodiac sign, but Taurus was lost on a mission before the nose art was completed.

If the Arma P-51D is as good as their B/C then it’ll be a gem.
    Tempted by the Chinook😍

Looking forward to you tackling that little-lot at some point Jamie. I hear the Chinook is very nice? Hopefully no silly-sized panel-lines?! Now, you ever done a ship -or more specifically a carrier? I ask because I got tempted into buying a 1/700 Flyhawk Illustrious with extra PE, and man, what a beautiful thing! At 700th scale we have binoculars on stands, beautiful searchlights, fab panel lining on ship, the Stringbags and Fulmars have seperate wheels, gear struts and porpellers! And 'panel-lines' of sorts. The detail really is super-fine. Can't stop looking at it!

I mate. The Chinook does look super, the panel lines are lovely, on all the main stream kits, the panels on the starter P-51 are a little over scale but I suspect its modified from their older 72nd kit.
I have done HMS Illustrious (Airfix) for a mate of mine who served in her. I do have a 1:700 and 1:350 Type 23 in the stash which was the most common type of FF/DD I served in.

Great Haul . I took part in a starter set buddy build within Flory Forum. We had to use those dreaded little pots of paint as we could only build the kit using what comes in the box . When it came to using the paint , I was really surprised to find that they thin beautifully with Tamiya X20A and were quite nice to paint with or at least the red arrows red did . Have a go you maybe surprised. Great Unboxing ,enjoy your builds

I think I'll stick to spraying mate as I want to see how good it looks compared to the Eduard and Arma kits.

@@thescalemodellingcafe I don't blame you , normally I throw them straight in the bin , but the red arrow red sprayed beautifully I was pleasantly surprised, but it's not worth ruining a kit , but before you bin them have a little play with some x20A . It might just change your mind about them . ( Just don't tell anyone 😁)

If you’re going to build the mustang out of the box to compare a cheaper kit with a more expensive one you ought to use the supplied paint.

Have you looked into the difference between the Bulldog 2 and 2a as 19 sqn only operated the latter, this would be my preferred marking as worked with 19 sqn during op granby when we had the mighty F4.
