    Thank you, my son bought us a litter robot. Absolutely love and appreciate his gift. Im surprised he hasnt done something similar to his robot. I just had to share this video. He flew home for a surprise visit last week.😊 We breifly talked about the robot. My husband and our sons love to build tinker and create amazing things. Thank you for the tips with your experiences. ❤ 🙏 's for all who naturally achieve greatness and share their successful projects. 🤯🎉 🥰

    I just couldn't cut into that thing after just paying that much. Maybe after about 5 years. Lol. Very smart tho!!!

      Do the cutting and you’ll end up with a machine that’s worth a lot more money for yourself.

    Thanks so much for sharing. I was thinking of such a mod, but reluctant to cut a big hole in my expensive litter box. You're vid gave me confidence that this could work. I'm 2 week out from my build and couldn't be happier. I was able to go a whole week without emptying the new catch bin (could've been longer). To others that might do this be aware that the app will perpetually say the drawer is 95% full. I think the app estimates how full the drawer is by # of cycles, but it doesn't give a full notification until something physically interrupts the sensors path.

    Nice idea. We have the LR3 as well. As yours/our cats age... building a ramp onto your project so they don't have to jump would be 1-board easy. Great video. Great hack. 👍

    I love the rice dispenser/litter dispenser as well, I've been wondering how to rig up something like that so this is perfect to see someone did it and it works great.

    This is the best hack ever! I have litterally (sorry about the pun, I had to) said the only thing I don’t like about my LR is the way the pan is designed. Waste stays on one side and blocks sensors and I was emptying it everyday.

    That’s an amazing setup. Was looking for a less litter tracking idea and your video came up and it’s perfect. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work. Would like to know the dimensions and items list if not too much trouble

    Could you possibly make a video breaking down where exactly to screw in the pieces of wood together? I like the latch set up.

    Thanks! Love your hack! I have the noWiFi unit. I cut the bottom and the tray like your unit.
    I have been using an old LitterWorks wood box made for older Litter Maid automatic litter boxes. The wood box made by Litterworks measures 32 x 19 x 18 inches.

    Hi! I built my own version over the weekend in anticipation for the holidays.
    I’m running into an issue where I constantly get the blue light flashing indicator. Have you ran into this issue?
    I have the LR3. Thanks!!

    I was wondering if I could do this with my LR3 without messing up any sensors - thank you! I will use that rice dispenser trick too! We are going to put something like this in the garage with everything enclosed, and a cat flap door going into the house

    I am curious why you cut more than just a single hole in the bottom tray? Would a single hole in that tray not be sufficient? Thanks!

    • @Twilight__Princess
      @Twilight__Princess Год назад

      Sorry for not being the original poster as well as offering a reply so late... But here's why two holes.
      The hole in the bottom of the drawer allows the litter robot to "read" that the drawer is still present, and allow it to continue normal operation. If you were to remove the drawer and simple cut the hole in the bottom of the base, the robot would not cycle, as it doesn't "think" there's anything present to catch the litter.
      The second hole in the base of the main robot itself allows the litter to drop through the drawer with the hole in it, then FURTHER through the base of the main robot and ultimately into a MUCH larger trash container.
      Hoping I explained that well enough!

    If I wanted to do something like this but keep it in my living room or master bedroom...would the smell be an issue?

    • @GrorangeGarage
      @GrorangeGarage  2 года назад

      I would say the smell depends on how often you wash out the globe. I don’t seem to get any aroma from the bin underneath, more from the urine in the globe if I go too long without washing the globe.

    • @felinefinetessaslegacy
      @felinefinetessaslegacy Год назад

      @@GrorangeGarage Almost 2 years and no globe washed, no smell. Girls are on a healthy raw diet with probiotics and purified water to drink. One could also add inexpensive Arm & Hammer baking soda into the bag before use and halfway through changes.

    Which litter robot model is this?

  • @jesusmalverde612
    @jesusmalverde612 10 месяцев назад

    I did this and now it won't automatically cycle because the weight detector at the bottom isn't triggered

    • @GrorangeGarage
      @GrorangeGarage  10 месяцев назад

      A couple things to check - bin needs to be in place to cycle. I’ve also had trouble with the “bonnet” connection. Try removing and reinstalling the bonnet.

    • @jesusmalverde612
      @jesusmalverde612 10 месяцев назад

      @@GrorangeGarage I figured out what it was. The sensor in the back would lift with the litter robot so it wouldn't sense when the cats would to in. I ended up screwing down the robot to the platform it sits on and it works again
