I had the same issue when I looked closely i noticed wire dry rotted and slightly cracked. i would see a slight arch from time to. I replaced the pig tail and no miss fire. 6 month later my coil began to misfire. It's the coil that was originally connected to the bad pigtail
Bingo. This is a TSB Bulletin sent out by Nissan and that was our problem. The Ground wire on the battery was broken. No one addresses this in their videos
Is it possible to replace the ecu without reprogramming anything? I'm asking cause my Altima is doing the same thing here. It's getting 12 volts to the coil but low signal power. Coil cyl #2 keeps going bad afrer 2-5 drive cycles. Would you suggest new ecu?
Sir I really could use your expertise. I think I messed up my ECM in my Altima like you did. One of the coil wire harness broke and when I installed the new coil harness I touched some wires together and a fuse blew, fan can't on just like with your video but now the car runs horrible. Thinking I messed up ECM signal to coil number 1. Can I do programming of a new ECM myself if I borrow a scan tool from a mechanic?
I have a 2004 Nissan 1.8 l that keeps burning up ingniton coils the mechanic tells me that the coils are getting too much voltage and he's telling me that it could be a spike in voltage caused by ether three things the cam the altinator or the crank shaft potion sensor I think maybe it could be the com got shorted out some how if you could help me with this problem I would really appreciate it there's a misfire on cylinder number 3 the compression in all 4 cylinder is good I can't see how it could have melted all the coils
@@Micscience Most coil problems I have solved by checking ground wires and replacing coils with Original Equipment rather than aftermarket. Of course do all the checks shown in the video, inspect spark plugs, battery, connections, alternator etc. Stay gold.
@@dnlmachine4287 The problem with the Sentra is the coils and plugs are hidden so you have to remove the plastic intake to get to them so running the car to replicate the intermittent problem is kind of out of the question which makes it a PITA. I know for sure cylinder number 3 is arcing and it very well could be a ground issue.
@@Micscience Check the wiring diagram for connections or places where the wiring could be accessed with test tools. The ECM may be a place to do testing as well. Sounds like you may need a lab scope if its intermittent. Stay gold.
