The uber medic bug can be seen a LOT within mvm with the canteen. Many of my friends and I have encountered it, a good 2 years. Glad to see an explanation

There are times where a crossbow medic will be right beside me and attempts to heal me with a crossbow yet not a single shot lands. You can almost feel the medic’s anxiety of trying to heal a soldier with the crossbow as the soldier stares back at the medic waiting

I would like that spy was the next, ya' know, the disguise thing got a loooot of bugs. As an example: sometimes when you disguise as a engie you still gotting the revolver, sometimes when you disguise as a demo or pyro you appear without legs or even the head. That's why i would like spy as next

Medical Intervention achievent can be earned when you are the medic and falling to your death, then activating über on the quick-fix.
I go the achievement that way.
So "save a falling teammate" includes yourself as a valid teammate it seems.

One bug you could've covered was the fact that teammates lose crit heals when jumping with either the sticky jumper or rocket jumper.
For Soldier, this also resets the conch's self healing

I feel like that's probably intentional, or not important enough to care about, since if you're getting healed by a Medic, you might as well wait till full overheal before jumping anyway.
There's no point in fixing it since no one does the one thing that counters it.

They also get lit on fire if they're under the effect of a Pyro's Gas Passer.
think its because it only checks if you've taken any damage whether or not its from an enemy or not. although idk if its the same for fall damage.
The bug with the no uber is very well known, when your uber, the charge drains and when it hits 0% it switches your uber state from on to off, if you get ubered while you already have uber, uber gets switched on while it was already on, then when your uber runs out, it gets switched off, leaving you vulnerable

This is due to the addcond/removecond system that handles uber conditions!
9:15 that's actually an intended feature. Back in the day medics would pop shields on themselves to combat medic and it was kinda OP.

i've seen the arm clipping bug happen when the round ends while you're healing someone, that's how it always happens for me.
The listed bug only claimed that the secondary weapon needed to be active so I didn't think to test it while healing. But I'll try it out and mention it at the end of the next video in the series!

I remember a video of Soundsmith in MvM where he was using the Uber Canteen and then he used the phlog taunt but the invincibility wore off mid taunt because the Canteen ran out first.
The Resistance icon bug for the Vaccinator happens when your healing target switches teams/gets autobalanced.
Pretty annoying when you get autobalanced as a spy.

8:55 This was intentional, and was updated around October after Gun Mettle. This was because a medic could pop a resistance on himself, and charge the enemy with his ubersaw for a kill while he took 75% less damage from the enemy's weapon. This was a powerful battle-medic tactic, but more or less rendered an enemy in a one vs one scenario all but helpless. It was probably fixed for that reason.

@@sweglord227 lol, that's overkill, imo. The current "nerf" is enough, so that the enemy team has enough time to kill at least 1 of the medics.
I'd say it's still bugged, because if you vacc uber, the switch away and back in under 2.5 secs, the uber doesn't return
6:08 Interesting enough, a Similar bug can be found in Mann vs Machine. If you use an Ubercharge Canteen while using the Phlogistinator, and you MMPH Taunt right as you Uber Canteen is about to run out, the Uber Canteen running out will cause your MMPH taunts Uber charge to cancel out, leaving you vulnerable while MMPH taunting.

I really want to know what causes that one “I AM A GOD” bug on Juudolf’s video, if it’s still a thing.
Basically, Juudolf is a BLU scout on Dustbowl. He encounters a lone RED Medic with the syringe gun, but he is textured as if ubercharged from a Medigun. The RED Medic is killed and gibbed with 4 damage from the BLU Scout’s scattergun despite the Uber texture, and the gibs from the RED Medic are that of a BLU Medic.
That was probably a client side error, not a medic bug

That unseen medic bug you ran into I actually got a lot a year ago and I had no idea why it kept happening. Glad to know what was causing it to happen way back then.
This was a really interesting video. I think you should do one on Achievement bugs. There are a few achievements I swear I followed the criteria for but just can't get. There's one where you have to kill 3 jarated enemies with your melee. I killed 3 enemies with 1 jarate many times and yet I couldn't get the achievement. I decided to give up after I hypothesized that I needed to use the stock Kukri (that sounded too hard for me) Then a few months ago (keep in mind I've been playing since 2011) I got it anyways after I killed a jarated medic with the Bushwacka. I think that you have to jarate an enemy 3 times in 1 life and only kill 1 enemy at a time.
Oh that achievement is super messed up. I was trying to get it semi-recently too and after like 2 hours of trying and doing it multiple with the Bushwacka I randomly got it after 1 Jarate kill with the Kukri. Super weird.
i killed a heavy with machine headshot and at very same second a sniper killed me headshot but that give me an achicement basicly says kill someone with huntsman when you are dead... weird
I'm VERY late but, there's an achievement where you have market garden someone with the equalizer. I somehow got the achievement by doing the kamikaze taunt using it.
@@DeskFan Yesterday I got that achievement by trying to use the Kamikaze taunt on a Scout. I missed and it gave me that achievement. I'm pretty sure that a lot of Equalizer related achievements are bugged.
The Vaccinator bug reminded me how some players get icons permanently stick above their heads. I think it happens when they get autobalanced while an icon is active (like the vacc or marked for death)
Yesh, once I and the opposing Medic were both using the Vaccinator, and both teams were constantly quitting for it, and we ended up with a Heavy with all six shield icons stuck due to the how often he was getting auto'd.

I know I'm late but, for the bug at 1:25, this may be talking about in relation to the viewmodel. For a large amount of projectile weapons, the projectile will have a weird spawn point in first person when you are crouched (but still function perfectly fine otherwise).
Man i love learning specific and usually minor inconveniences, and this series scratches that itch. Keep up the good work and don't falter.

yeah it seems totally intentional because I'm pretty sure you also can't block capture with regular uber which makes sense. blocking with any uber would be broken

A little help for any bug testing regarding movement speeds is to use the command "cl_showpos 1" as it shows you your location in x,y and z coordinates, and it also shows your velocity in hammer units.
Spy should be next, he likely has some of the more interesting bugs with disguises,cloak, etc
You've never noticed the crossbow shooting through teammates bug? Ho freaking lucky, can't tell how many times I've looked like a complete mooron by 'missing' bolts from a meter away.

There is a weird medic bug that almost nobody seems to know... If you heal enemy spies that kill your teammates will grant you assists. This makes it possible to dominate players on your own team. (Not sure if fixed)

Hey btw the bug with medics arm getting twisted when going into the humiliation pose happens when you are HEALING a target when you lose. I think I saw an explanation of why it happens on some other video, but it still (sometimes) happens.

Adding on to the medi gun bug; If you somehow managed to get full uber after finishing a charge, ubering your heal target again while the animation of the uber charage texture flashing is playing will cause you to be vulnerable

10:40 it actually makes sence considering how mantreads damage works, and apparently the "3x falling damage" is literally considered falling damage dealt to the enemy soldier stomped on

The ubersaw's 1000000000% critical rate
4:29 I've seen this one when you roll the dice on those custom servers, like 20 sec infinite uber. It happened only to the medic who activated the uber and if it was active for 8 seconds, you could be ubered again by switching weapons.
And just when I was planning to watch "TF2: a complete history of the Medic" and saw this- I mean..I guess I can watch that other video later..?

1:52 is actually intentional, for example, if a BLU medic fired a crossbow bolt at a RED pyro, the pyro reflected it and it hit a BLU demoman, the demoman actually gets healed and doesn't take any damage.
Edit: now that I think about it, I think it was patched and it does damage to enemies, because the person who demonstrated it published the video wayy before this video came out

the mantreads bit is probably because the stats say something like " fall damage is given 3x to the stompee when you stomp someone" & they likely just made the damage type fall damage
7:11 While this is indeed a bug, I don’t think it’s harmful. In fact, I think it’s beneficial because that way it reveals this person is a Spy. Which basically means that a Spy can’t “steal” and Über.
It's harmful to Spies.
It's harmful to spies and it's making spy one bit more useless, should be patched or at least minimized, however like the cloak smoke bug I believe this is just an issue of particle lingering, should be fixed none the less.
As a spy main, That's completely unfair since the spy doesn't know that, Basically another thing that fricks with spies that they can't control, Just like invisible demo legs, Invisible pyro heads, And engineer holding a flamethrower.
The Uber starts blinking (ending) for the first medic, and until he is done being ubered, he cannot be ubered again. This is because the uber was ending on the other end. This might be able to be fixed if you switch from the medigun and then back to it.

The medic's Ubercharge bug happened between me and a heavy yesterday. I was using the quick fix and ubersaw.

I don't think quick fix giving spies an aura of their team colour is a bug, since every other Medi-gun does the same. Stock medi gun ubering a Spy will be his team colour rather than the Medic's and a Kritzed Spy's weapon will glow with his team colour's kritz effect.

Awesome video SquimJim, thanks so much for the upload during these trying times! Hope you are well. As for this particular bug while uberchaining, trust me, it has happened A LOT more commonly than you would think. It’s gotten me and my friends killed far more than you would believe, and has been in the game for years. The best workaround for this bug is to simply save the last two seconds of uber for staying on your mediguns for both Medics and ubering each other before Medic #2 begins his part of the chaining. It’s a little monotonous but it guarantees you will maintain your uber. That or you can just both switch off and wait a second before using the next uber. Either solution stopped us from being caught with our practitioner pants down.
10:58 Seems more like an oversight on the Infernal Medicine achievement. Pyro may have afterburn immunity but it doesn't mean it can't have the afterburn status. Maybe "immunity" is the wrong term being used here.
Directly from the Wiki:
"Note that enemy Pyros cannot be set on fire (as Pyros are normally immune to afterburn), except by the Dragon's Fury and the Gas Passer. While Pyros still take contact damage from direct flame attacks, they will not take further damage over time. The Pyro does, however, count as on fire for a brief second while he appears with the charred graphical effect after taking damage from a fire-inducing weapon, and while the Pyro takes no additional damage, the Pyro can still suffer critical hits from the Sun-on-a-Stick and Flare Gun"
About that Medic über thing:
Maybe the problem is that the second über gets activated before the first über runs out. So the first über ends and cancels the second über effect on the healer, because it's more of a passive buff. But the healing target is actively übered, so it doesn't get canceled by the first über running out.
I don't know if that makes sense, but that's my theory.
Regarding the achievements:
- The Mantreads actually deal damage that's typed as fall damage, I'm pretty sure; it just takes the fall damage the Mantreads player was slated for, triples it, and slaps it straight on the victim. Obviously that SHOULDN'T grant the achievement, but I think that's why it is.
- Pyros aren't actually immune to afterburn. I THINK the way it works is that when it tries to tick damage on a Pyro it fails and removes the afterburn effect, meaning they never take damage and it always wears off almost instantly, but there's trickshot videos all over the place of Pyros scoring Axtinguisher (pre-nerf) kills on other Pyros by connecting the weapon in the tiny window between the enemy Pyro being ignited and the damage immunity kicking in.
The Medic Über cancelling bug happens quite a lot in MvM, both on the players with canteens and on the robots themselves. If a Medic-bot activates his charge and then gets pushed back into the robot safe-space that applies the "Invisible Über", (i.e. on Bigrock), then when it leaves the spawn area again it will be vulnerable, even though the patient is protected. It can sometimes make the Über Medics easier to deal with than they should be.
That bug with the crusaders crossbow bolts going through teammates is really noticeable. I've yet to meet a medic main who hasn't struggled with it. It means you can't crossbow people at point blank range. You have to back up a few paces. I see newer medics not know this, and it's painful to watch. But it's also incredibly annoying when you forget, crossbow somebody, and their health doesn't go up.
5:50 this happened to soundsmith on mvm, he used an Uber canteen, did the mphh charge with the phlog, and the canteen ran out while taunting, and he got backstabed.
That medic Über bug is pretty old, as far as I can remember. I remember seeing it at least a year or two ago.
The uber bug at ~ 4:10 can also happen if you type in the console *addcond 5* which will make you ubercharged and then if a medic heals you it will completely cancel out the uber
i learned in a shounic video that medic's arm being broken during humiliation was a result of inverse kinematics not being disabled. his arm is basically super glued to the gun to make sure it doesnt clip, and when you're put into the humiliation animation medic's arm tries its best to make sense of what his other two arm joints are doing based on where his hand is.
11:27 This bug only happens if you are healing someone when the round ends (or get scared by a ghost). When healing, Medic's arm is moved forward on the medigun switch, which is why i clips through his head when surrendering. (ONLY WHEN HEALING)
With the crusader's crossbow healing a the medic that fired it, it's possible if you have an enemy pyro reflect it at a friendly pyro who reflects it back at you if that makes any sense
That would be working as intended though because it would become a friendly projectile again.
I have a suggestion for a bug to test: It's possible to get the Master of Disguise achievement if you're being healed when getting forcibly autobalanced onto the enemy team, no matter what class you are. I had this happen to me, when I had 0 hrs on Spy. This probably happens because the game only checks if you've been recently healed by a player on the enemy team, assuming that this condition can only happen with a disguised Spy.
5:49 Bug also applies to Ghost fort if you activate uber, while uber-charged when being sent to skull island.

I believe it’s a common bug with Uber in that if you have the Uber is effect, then get another source of Uber, it runs out. The most common one is in MVM with the Phlog’s Taunt and the Uber Canteen.
5:44 this also happens with phlog pyro in MVM. What you want to do is that get the ubercharge power-up and activate it, and before the ubercharge power-up ends, use the phlogistinator taunt, and after a short period, when the power-up ubercharge runs out, your phlogistinator's ubercharge will cancel out as well, leading to some very bad situations where phlog pyro is needed the most.
It's only 2 years late, but I added the Uberchaining bug to the Tf2 wiki :)
4:30 This bug with Ubers is present on custom robot medics in MvM too, the charge fades from the medic but not the heal target. It's a bug to do with Ubercharge duration. For some reason, the charge on the Medic will fade after a certain amount of time.
oh, and about that close-range arrow collision glitch, I think it goes un-noticed because people go for those SICK-LONG RANGE CROSSBOW HEALS oh and also if you're that close you're better off using a medigun.
11:35 is actually true, I've had it happen to me multiple times and I'm pretty sure that you either have to switch your weapon from the medigun when you lose, or ubering after the round finishes and you lose
Since you are in Nuclues here is one for scout: you can't shoot your sandman ball or the wrap assassin ball into the middle capture point at Nucleus.
The medic bug you guys found also happened to soundsmith once while playing pyro, where his Uber canteen ending cancelled his phlog taunt Uber.
About the vaccinator "glitch," the resistance bubble used to persist even after the medi gun was put away, but valve silently patched that out several years ago because people would "one-man uberchain" with it by popping all three resistance bubbles at once and rushing with their ubersaw.

This bug can also happen with Uber canteens and the flog. This happened in one of sound Smith's MVM Shenanigans videos. Basically if you activate something that gives you Uber right as something that was ubering you just ended it will cancel out the Uber that you were supposed to get.

I think the Spy disguise bug are more or less an indicator that they were a Spy instead of an actual bug, it'll let you know which one is friendly or an enemy. Which is a neat little detail on spotting spies. It also worked on disguising as a class the enemy doesn't have.
From using the Amputator, I have noticed a couple of weird interactions/bugs. The first one is that certain slopes and differences in elevation can block the effect, the second is that the range seems dependent on where are you looking in third person, teammates outside of your camera won't be affected.
There is also the Quick-Fix bug of not being able to replicate Engineer explosive jumps, due to the Sentry Gun being considered it's own entity, separate from it's builder.
The Blutsauger and Vita-Saw can affect disguised Spies. Normally "on hit" weapons don't trigger their effects on disguised Spies (ex Ubersaw) due to him being considered by the code as a teammate while disguised (this is also why the Disciplinary Action speeds up enemy Spies on hit).
Sometimes Mediguns overheal past their coded limit by 1 or 2 HP, this usually only happens when healing someone with maximum critheals.
The Crossbow's bolts are unaffected by the Back Scratcher's and Fists of Steel's respective healing penalties, despite being intentionally affected by the Equalizer's and Escape Plan's penalty.
The Spy Vacc bubble: From what I've seen, it lingers if you bubble a Spy, and the round ends while that bubble is active (can happen in mid-game, but no idea how. End-game bubbles are consistent)
Another Vacc bug I've reported, but not added, is when jarated/milked and you Bubble yourself the visuals of them vanish from your screen, but the effects stay
I'm looking forward to future episodes of this series, because it's really cool! I always thought we need to highlight the bugs in this game to show that we need more quality of life updates and bugfixes instead of new content. I mean just look at these bugs! Pretty much all of them were gameplay affecting. Stuff like this wouldn't fly in cs:go or dota 2, so we shouldn't be contempt with playing a bug riddled game.
I think the crossbow projectiles going through teammates was because of some feature of all projectiles which prevented teammates from suddenly blocking projectiles from point blank, but some networking problem in TF2 caused the incredibly hacky workaround that was implemented instead of just disabling the functionality on the crossbow to not work. I think it was also fixed in a recent update.
I'll be happy with any class you pick for the next episode of bug Busters.
Or even an episode about maps, engineer buildings, or other things.
The Vaccinator article's "Bugs" section was updated _the day before_ this video was released; the Cow Mangler bug was replaced with the Spy disguise's backpack one.
The vaccinator uber vanishing after switching to an another weapon was pretty intentional, because before that the bubble would stay on you for 2 seconds even after you switched to a different weapon. This lead to instances where medic could become partially invincible towards the damage he set for an infinite amount of time when combining that with the ubersaw.
My best explination for the uber is that the game never expects two ubers at the same time, so a shortcut while making it removes all uber effects and not just the one that ran out
A vacinator bug I've seen is when ubered at the end of the round, and then switch teams after a win, the medic and the target keep the uber sign above there head with the old team color. It even reacted with normal color signs, showing both of them. It was purely visual though.
for the bug you found i believe it happens the same way when mmph taunting with an uber canteen activated you lose the uber when the canteen runs out: it takes the uber from “giver 1” and checks if “giver 2” already has it activated and will override “giver 2”’s uber (if any currently active) making it so if “giver 1”’s uber ends so does “giver 2”’s

The medic bug happens because the first Uber timer ends and stops the Uber state of the other player overriding the second medic’s Uber invulnerability
This also works in MvM when you are under an Uber cantine effect and start a phlog taunt right before your cantine ends you will become vulnerable
The bug with the uber-lapping (I’m calling it that) can also be seen with the phlog pyro. When the phlog pyro Uber is popped when the medi beam supplying the Uber is disconnected, the phlog Uber is also overlapped and does not have a Uber while the pyro is taunting for crits
Spy would be a good choice, I can bet that there are/were tons of bugs with him, and I remember a bug that, when tf2 launched, in a match, the spy's backstab and swing were lagged behind, meaning you can attack with the knife, go invisible, then go behind someone and then you backstab them. It's an old one that is fixed, but it can mean that some spy glitches do exist
