When I first started with bfs, I would set the hook like traditional or conventional fishing setups, and I kept missing hook sets. I then took my fly fishing mindset of not setting the hook hard and applied it to the bfs fishing style and my hook sets improved 10 full. Good luck on your bfs adventures, it will get easier!
Oh man. I feel your pain on that backlash! I literally yelled doh! Lol Bfs. Backlash finesse system. I love that trilene sensation. I spooled 2 of my bfs reels with straight 6 lb trilene sensation and went an entire day without 1 backlash throwing 1/16 jigs. I love braid on spinning gear but I think I'm using sensation from here on out with bfs.
I prefer spinning ultralight over bfs baitcasting. I even rather use my ZEBCO 33MICROs.just a lot more ezey, enjoyable. Don't like having to adjust reel all the time .also I only fill the spool less then half.
@@flaviodesignaquariums1690 I was curious and wanted to give it a shot. So far after this it’s been a positive experience. I have more BFS videos coming soon

Yeah I gotta fine tune it! It was a fun first go!

Yeah I might do the same in the future, but for now I’m running it as is.

just a tip. fish it no different than you would with a regular baitcasting set up. with drag set correctly you shouldnt break anything.
Yeah I think it just takes some time getting used to it.
10:00 you have to take the side off and remove the spool at this point. Brutal, hate those.
Yeah, I ended up having to cut it all out. Backlashed all the way down to the spool!
You have to grab the loop at the spool bro, not just keep tugging on the line.
Yeap, did that for 15 minutes, didn’t think it was interesting for the video so I cut it.
its only a scam if you buy jdm gear.
How so?
@@RamonOutdoors cdm bfs gear is arguably better and 5 times cheaper.
