- When I got the opportunity to have a flight in a Super Cub plane over the Okavango Delta, I didn't think twice. Watching from above how life goes by at the delta was an experience of a lifetime. I seriously felt like Meryl Streep in 'Out of Africa' movie.
Okavango Delta in Botswana is well known for having some of the best wilderness and wildlife areas on the African continent. This unique delta is considered as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa and has been listed on UNESCO world heritage sites.

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. Your hair is wild, you "wild child"...I have, in the past, studied that delta region on Google Earth/Maps looking for groups of animals with no luck, although in other areas of Africa I have found many where the resolution was high enough. This was a real "bucket list" treat, that's the best way to fly, slow and low like a bird...thank you Heiko and Kinga.

Wow - lucky you! That looks like one beautifully maintained and well flown craft. The Super Cub is a real favourite of mine. In 2008 my wife and I flew over the Delta in a Cessna 206 Stationair (as I recal). Wonderful stuff and we even saw a large herd of elephants. Not something we see every day in Sydney (other than at Bondi Beach sometimes... hehe). Cheers, Dave

Pretty big grin on your face up in that plane! The set up was similar to a STOL bush plane used in Northern Canada. When you eventually get to our neck of the woods, I hope you get to take a hop on a Yukon bush plane. Kind regards from Canada🇨🇦

Unfortunately I won't be going to Nigeria anytime soon. Land borders from Morocco to Angola are closed for tourism for 2 years.
@@onherbike actually not all of them are, Morocco border remains a problem, as well as Mali and Togo, in most of the others cases you can find your way.

Outstanding, absolutely enjoyed the flight with music.
Great to see the elephants enjoying their evening drink, they seemed unafraid of the plane, lots of water to support the wild life great. Great episode, I am scared of flying and admire your obvious enthusiasm to experience, i was curious just how slow the plane actually flew. I think there is a hot air balloon trip over the falls can try or maybe I am thinking of another place.
