- Hey neighbors I found this video I did a few weeks ago and since we are going to see Neighbor Andy tomorrow who traded this saw in and he is going to give us the story on it and his HUSQVARNA 288XP I figured I would upload it and give you a chance to see it. This saw is sold to a local neighbor, and he had sent photos of him taking down a MASSIVE tree the day he took it home. We will try to get you those photos very soon. The other 271 with the leak is also with a local neighbor who initially bought the 280 and we went cut wood and he kept the 271 and the patch n the transfer cover is holding strong. Thanks so much for sharing this information. I had forgotten to put the fan shroud back on after replacing the coil. Then I had issues with the choke lever that had come out of the holder. Your video saved the day. God bless you!

This is exactly the video I need. A poorly modded muffler (not my doing) melted the crankcase on my 271 a few years ago. I picked up a used case and transferred the crank & P/C but then set it aside and kinda forgot some of the details of how it goes back together. I have a digital workshop manual but with my ADD it's super hard for me to reference digital books.
I do the same thing with flywheel. I spent 5 years rebuilding Porsche air cooled engines for a motorsports shop and there are just some things you don't do....like sticking hard objects, or rope for that matter, into your intake manifold!

ty for the video. i just wish you had shown how to change the fuel line. changed it on a bunch of equipment but this one scares me.

What Trans? What seal? The baske gasket is gasket maker on that saw the crankshaft oil seals you have to pull the cylinder to change them, I have videos somewhere showing this.

Didn't show how to install it.
Sorry most ppl know that, all you do is put your bar on and your chain around the sprocket, put your clutch cover on, snug the bolts the lift the end of the bar as you tighten your tensioner, spin your chain pull it on the bottom and it sould come down and gently "snap back" then you repeat that process. I will do a video in the next few days specifically on this for ya!
