If you don't have the "Microphone" option in screen recording, you have to uninstall the Blackhole 16ch and install the Blackhole 2ch, this fixed it for me.
Perfect, thank you. I was trying to figure out how to handle internal audio recording and still kinda shocked that this isn't already a function of Quicktime without having to add an external app - so much so that I'm just going to keep opening bugs for it in every developer release of MacOS.
I use a different screen recording program (that automatically uploads the files) to record feedback for student video projects. Getting the audio on their projects from RUclips and the audio from my lav to both sound good has been nearly impossible. I adapted your tutorial, adding an aggregate that has Blackhole & my lav, and the system recognizes it. Now I get CLEAN audio from both sources. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks! I had something like this set up before, but I dont think I fully understood it and also have a lot more audio devices to juggle so it gets confusing. PRO TIP: If you want stereo audio, use the Blackhole 2ch instead. For whatever reason, 16 channel only gives me mono audio.

Is there a reason you use the 16 channel? This ended up cramming a stereo track into mono and putting it on channel 5 of the 16 channels, really hard to use for anything serious this way. It did work though.

It works! But now whenever I have it on, the audio of my computer is forced on maximum volume. Nearly destroyed my ears. I can't lower the volume, at all. It's locked. Any ideas?
I followed this to the T and still isn't working. It records audio now but it is always so low, even if I crank up the volume before switching to the multi output device.
Do you have a video for how to undo this instead of watching this in reverse? I only need to screen record on occasion and want to be able to put my settings back to normal after I'm done. Thank you!
