I am so glad to see you restoring this old Chevy. My dad's last car was a 52 styleline Deluxe 2 door sedan. Like The Grandfather's Clock Daddy's car died the same day he did, the day before Thanksgiving 1958. The engine froze and the block cracked.

If you're liking this, go and check out Santa's Workshop (Randy's Neighbor) he's got a 52 coupe in EXCELLENT shape he just posted a video on. ruclips.net/video/2b1IT96LzG4/видео.html

The tube in the vent window channels water to the interior of the door. This directs it away from the cloth interior fabric. Any water that gets inside the door would weep out of holes in the bottom of the door shell. I can see that the "dumbo" is still over the nut that holes the lower end of the channel to the door. The "dumbo" would need to be removed and in turn the nut under that.

Thanks Josh - I did get that figured out with the putty. It came to me after the fact because i'd taken the doors apart a few years back to replace the weather stripping in the vent window. / that/ is a pain!

Hey guy' s there are hundreds of very good RUclips channels that show and explain metal movement for body work. I am not being critical here but learning metal will help you so much. He has the guts to show you what he knows and that is commendable. I am not an expert but for over thirty years I have been learning every way I could find and can do a good job, it does take me a lot longer a professional. Eastwood has some good help. If you can Weld then fab shop is excellent. Good luck all.

Thanks for the input Ken - I've never claimed to be an expert in bodywork, this is made note of multiple times in my content. I'm just your average guy spending time in his garage. I've a graduate of RUclips U. and also watch many other folks that do work in similar manner. There's always more ways than one to get something done.

@@DachsAutos I understand. Just suggesting checking some of the metal fab channels. Helped me a lot. From what I see you are fully capable of doing a professional job. My parents owned on of these andI love to see them brought back to their former glory. I thank you for the video and hope everything works out good for you.👍😁😤🤔👍

Thx! I follow close to 100 channels for auto stuff, either restoration, body and metal, structural stuff, and flips. I don't even watch 'normal' tv these days HAH! I've got a family history for old car restorations, so there's knowledge to draw off there too. I lack the heated shop now, so coming soon it's a bunch of back and forth to the garage which hampers progress.. Learning process, and it's sure fun!

When I did my windows i rolled the side window down about half way. The vent window frame came right out. Rolled the window back up half and took out the window.

Thanks. If I recall, one set of doors (front or rear) was easier to remove the windows than the other. Hopefully this winter I'll be able to wrap up the body work and primer so we can see some color on her next season when it's warm again.
