My trouble with using a lure to teach my dog is that I am very tall (with a bad back) and she is a very short terrier. She picks up tricks rather easily as we think she has some poodle in her (she was a rescue). For basic obedience training we adapted her to reach up to receive a reward, which we then phased out. For tricks like this which requires more continual rewards before achieving mastery, is there a method that is suggested (or a treat stick would be perfect if one existed) for human/dog pairs with such height differentials? We had a terrier previously who ruled the house and when we got this one, we knew basic obedience was a necessity. She enjoyed tricks so much that we truly bonded during those classes while awaiting an intermediate class to open up.
My golden retriever picked this up very quickly. Thanks for the fun idea.
My chihuahua is a brat so he just ignored me and he stud up on two legs and I tried to get her on the floor but no luck
My jack Russell picked this up very quickly
I have a 3 month old jack russel and im 6 feet tall is it ok to get on my knees
How can I train it so that my dog continues to circle me while I walk?
