Just rescued a two year old Golden retriever. He spent all of his time on a short chain 24/7 365 No training, beaten when barking. We had him neutered first thing. He lives with our black lab cross female in my workshop. Every day he gets a run beside me while I pedal my bike. Huge improvement in his behaviour over all. We’ve begun recall training with minimal success so far. Definitely will use Andy’s technique! Thanks man ❤❤
Just came in from trying this out with each of my labs (in different sessions). Now I'm tired but that was soooo much fun and a big moral booster for myself. The hardest part was digging out the retractable leash (and emotions) I had for my lab who we lost to old age about 6 years ago (love and miss you Belle).
I looked up other vids and was having a issue of that most of the trainers weren’t really explaining what to do. They jst called a trained dog and called that a vid. Ur vid in straight to the point . Thank you
My golden puppy is so stubborn about coming here, he’s around 7 months. My husband thinks we should neuter him but I know that won’t really make him any more obedient.. I told my hubs to just let me work with him for a little bit first before we make such a permanent choice. So I’m really really glad I came across your videos. Thank you!! Couldn’t be more simple than this
I taught my German shepherd recall by training her to wait and then to come to me when called in the house! we tried it at the park, she has a 1 and half meter leash and we just let it go since there was only around 2 people pretty far away and if she ran off we would only need to be 2 meters behind her to catch her. LUCKILY SHE WAS PERFECT! she did get distracted a few times By other dogs or birds, but on a quick second call shell be to you immediately. running towards you and sitting at your feet! took less than a few hours to train. but this is a great method we can also try! shes very food motivated and i want a perfect recall for her that can work every time!
@@AndyKrueger you also been saving me money. By saying use kibble and make the dog work for his food. Using treats all the time is also cost, now I just purchase treats like every second month all thanks to you. In future videos it would be nice to see mental sitimulation videos on a job to give your dog like for couple of hours in when you not around. Like I been giving my dog a kong toy stuffing it with treats like once a day or twice. I am also thinking of hidding treats in a bottle in the yard or in a kong toy and he must look for it, just to keep my dogs mind mentally sharp. Hi Andy, so many videos on RUclips to see about dog training and watched quite a few. But this video I have stumbled upon I absolutely love it and tried it as soon as I got in from work. Our lab did it a few times but soon gets distracted but will keep trying with him.
I spent about six weeks at Michael Ellis school, but it was over ten years ago. My wife has a new dog (working line GSD), and I am attempting to coach her training. So I am reviewing a lot of other trainers to expand my knowledge. Ellis suggests restrained recalls for introducing the recall. But our problem is that I am just too much of a distraction to be an effective helper. This food technique is brilliant. I did suggest a minor refinement to the wife. Kibble in the bowl and meat roll in her bait bag. Might be too valuable and interfere with the attraction of the bowl, but it is worth an experiment.
I thought the same. If the dog is coming back slowly then up the reward value. Also important to have the dog really hungry. Rinse and repeat is the key here. 100s of reps over a month. Loyal patreon crew here.
Awesome! I have a stubborn Blue Heeler that is a work in process. I assume we will be reducing the payout after the 1000 reps? I know... probably getting ahead..lol. Love your energy!

My female Jack Russell was rescued from the streets of Sydney's Kings Cross we connected right from the start. She's so loyal and obedient and she's just woken up so I better take her out for her midnight walkies.
Ok ready for 1,000! Love it!! Question: would you ever use his kibble for the bowl, then use a higher value food (like chicken) for the recall? If so, would you ever recall before he is finished the kibble in the bowl? Thanks Andy!! You’re the best!!🙌🏼

😊
This is great advice. But.... I would love to see one of these trainers teach this to a beagle puppy in a single RUclips video.
Hey Andy,
Im new to your channel I just now subscribed. I like how you train your dogs. I just picked up a Belgian myself yesterday.
The puppy is 10 weeks old. At what age you recommend I start doing this?
Immediately
I liked your video showing how to teach pup sit with no treat. Just wondering why you are using treats here. Doesn’t the dog for the cookie and not for you?
where can I buy kibble bag like yours?
Gappay
@@AndyKrueger so it’s custom made yes?
