I am 250# and rock this exact kayak for fishing. Seal the scuppers right under the seat. Just seal them up entirely. I ditched the scuppers that it came with and used Callaway practice golf balls. Works perfectly! You can apply them from top down or from under. On the rear scuppers, shove the golf balls up from the bottom and seal it off with Gorrilla Tape. Solves the wet butt scenario. Adjusting the seat incline helps with the numb ass. Its a learning process for sure! Especially for bigger dudes like us!
I have 2 of them. They are a good value yak for calm waters, but definitely NOT a stand up fishing rig. Leave the plugs in and carry a sponge. My next yak will be a longer and wider fishing setup. Get a Scotty rod holder and put it in the rail in the middle in front of you. Also, add another rail on one side and get 2 paddle holders to hold the paddle instead of your lap.
Nice video! I’m a new t10 owner. Any problems with it being unstable? Im a bigger guy 230lbs and it’s fairly stable while paddling around, tipsy. Any tips?? Seat placement, scupper plugs in/out or half in. Trying to avoid out riggers. Thanks
Not really, it's a small canoe not a sit on , stand up kayake, it's absolutely opposite!!! You sit inside, sit in kayaks. Don't buy this style of kayake if u wanna stand
Hello great video man. Have you tried some different Scupper plugs see if that helps. Got to be a way to stop the water from coming through. Question? Do you know what kind of sandals are you are wearing. I'm looking for a pair to wear while kayaking. I have to kayak Barefooted 👣 because I have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE with very fat wide toe and they don't make a shoe or water shoes that wide enough for my foot. It really sucks walking through shallow water barefooted 👣 while pulling a kayak. Thank you for sharing your video.
Hey bud, that is me in the video... the other brother in Simply Midwest. Anyway, I didn’t actually try any other scupper plugs but that dang that’s a great idea! For the shoes, those are TEVAS. I bet if you found a size 15 you could wear them.... I have wide feet too, size 13. Thanks for watching the video!
@@mdellaposta I will go try difference Scupper plugs. The sandals are Teva okay. Thank you I really appreciate that information. Ok you have wide feet too. I'd rather have your side then mine. I hope you don't have fat wide toe to go with the wideness like I do. Cuz it is very hard to find shoes that's 6 EEEEEE wide. Again thank you I really appreciate that information. Great Channel you have. keep up the good work.
@@mackjenkins7721 thanks Mack! Wide feet are tough my man, have you ever shopped at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack? I use to work there are we stocked wide sizes.
@@mdellaposta hey man how's it going I'm pologize for getting back so late I just saw your reply. I went there light the end of spring and they did not have a good selection. I went on teva's website and order a pair that is made for wide feet. I appreciate your help Matthew you're a good man.
I just bought one used, so no luck in returning it. That said, I have found several ideas for building stabilizer bars. I enjoy the size, and once I figure out how not to flip, I will enjoy it.
I just bought same one last week. I’m 5’7 250lbs and it it’s not stable at all to me. I had all the scupper plugs out and it would track hard to the left or right and would continue to lean to one side or the other? I’ve had many sit ins and sit on tops that aren’t fishing style and never had this problem
@kevin baker ya idk man, i left mine in and had problems with it taking on too much water. I have had to get out of the water to take the plugs out so it could drain. Thanks for watching!

Haha.
Thank You so much for the water review. Everyone does dry land reviews.

I’m 5’6” and weight 175 and I can’t even stand on mine. I’m upgrading to a big fish 103 peddle drive. The ascend will be my river beater lol
That’s the kayak I’m saving up for Once I get a kayak I will soon be fishing the kbf state challenge

Enjoyed the video. I just bought one a while back. I am only 5'6 and under 150pds. So guess it it made for us smaller guys

@jamie..508 I stand up in mine fine. Sorry it doesn't work for you. But I love mine. Hope you find one that works for you. Happy fishing
The scuppers plugs in the middle are the ones I pull out while I am on the out floating to drain all the water
AWESOME Video

I must be heavy then cuz I’ve never flipped mine, and I’ve taken it on the bay
Whoever bought this thinking they can stand up comfortably all day are kinda stupid.... lol.. this is ment for sitting, it's a sit in
I think you should get the 12 t it is a little wider and is 2 feet longer
If I were you I would have bought the 12ft version
Just pull the scupper plugs by the set and it will drain all the water out while you’re on the water
ah thank you! finally an answer that works. I was afraid to pull those out while riding because i thought it would let more water in!
Good call thanks for the tip
I spray painted my scupper plug florescent orange after losing a few on my way in/out of the water. Makes it easier to find on grass/dirt
Anyone else have one of these kayaks ? What's your thoughts ?
I had the 10 T and returned it. I ended up buying the 12T, night and day difference in stability
@@kevinmedeiros9281 I believe it! I am selling mine too....its not stable enough in my opinion.
