    Price inflation has it at 679.99$ here in Missouri at bass pro. Just looked yesterday at them.

      Grab it now, They just jumped up to $769.99
      I was in the store and noticed one color of the same model for the price you listed.
      They forgot to change that tag out so they sold me the color I wanted for $679

    I hear you should not get the ascend 10t. I hear they take on water. I hear you should get the Ascend H10

    • @greatamericansurvival
      @greatamericansurvival  2 года назад

      Never had an issue with my Ascends. But since the price has gone up not sure if it would be my first choice. Is this your first kayak? Reason I ask is the H10 is a nice boat, easy to paddle and very stable. But just like with any sit in kayak if you flip it turns into a bathtub.

    I bought one yesterday. The scuber plugs leaked. The cord they ran threw the plugs became saturated and was alowing water to get in. I'm 250 so it will take on water but wont sink. I pulled the cords out and put gorilla tape on the bottom of the plugs and they worked just fine. The seat was awesome all day.

      It's the first one I've bought. Other than the pugs which was a easy fix it's great for getting around in the swamps.

    I have found the water tight cubbie is too small to fit a cell phone. Do you have any videos on how to replace the stock cubbie with a larger one?

  • @briansisco6642
    @briansisco6642 3 года назад

    Is the chair aluminum? I've had to replace my chair in the FS10T twice already in 3 years and all the d-rings rusted out also. I love the open concept, the front well holds a milk crate perfectly.

    Do you prefer the sit on top to the sit in version? What would the advantages of each be?

    • @greatamericansurvival
      @greatamericansurvival  4 года назад +1

      I have several of both. All kayaks are fun to be on the water, but honestly if your new to kayaking and just wanna get out on the water with your family I prefer to start adults or youth with sit on kayaks. They are a lot easy to handle, if you flip you can easily flip it back over and get back on it. If your in a sit in and flip unless it’s a white water kayak with a skirt you can’t just flip back over. It fills with water you have to either have another kayak to do a T-boat method to get the water out or swim to a dock or to shore while dragging your kayak. Which is one reason we say anyways have on a PFD. I’m generally using a sit on 90% of the time. Hope this helps. Do you have a kayak now? Or are you looking to get one?

      That’s awesome. The H series are great kayaks never had one of my own but I’ve paddled a few. What are you planning to use it for? The Sit on top are a lot easier to get back into and not as scare when you flip. Have you had a kayak before?

    Awesome video, I was trying to decide on a new kayak for fishing, I was looking at the 128T, but storage would be an issue for me, but I could manage. But a 10 footer would be great. I think your videos will help me greatly in my decision making.

    I’m 6’4” about 220. I’m looking for a kayak that I can stably stand and fish the flats in. Debating between the 10t and 12t. Is the 12t really worth the extra money?

      Yes. For your size spend the extra money you won’t regret it. The 10T would work for you but I think you’ll be even happier with the 12T. What state are you in ??

      If you weigh more than 200 forget it. Scuppers are too low with them pulled water rushes in defeats entire purpose of SOT. I’m 225lbs it’s like sitting in a bathtub. I actual filled the yak up with water while out in the lake when I hit some slight chop.

    Warning to anyone over like 220 pounds or so...this boat will be pretty much unusable for you. Without the scupper plugs it literally fills with water. With the plugs in, it sits so low in the water that the slightest motion brings in water over the sides. This is a TERRIBLE boat for anyone who isn't super skinny!

    • @greatamericansurvival
      @greatamericansurvival  3 года назад

      The 10T wasn’t a great boat for me, I’d say anyone over 200 should get a 12T.

      @greatamericansurvival  4 года назад +2

      Thanks for taking time to comment on the video. I like 12t it’s a nice kayak especially for bigger people. But the design of the 10T makes it really easy to get back in if you fall out or even jump in. Just make sure you secure the seats before water play, they sink very quickly. Make sure you let us know how you like the 10 after you guys use them for a while.
