  • I took some time to show you guys my kayak and the pros and cons of it . This is gonna be the boat 80% of my river fishing videos are filmed in so I figured I'd give you guys a look at what I'm fishing off of . I think this kayak would make a great beginners fishing boat as its packed with lots of accessories , but it doesn't break the bank at 550$ . Click down below to see a video of me fishing off the new boat and to get an idea of how she performs!!! #kayakfishing #kayaking #fishing

*Very well-made, stable, comfortable **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love that everything fits in bag. Easy to paddle for single person as well, however might be too heavy to carry by one.*

I have 2 of these, as others have stated, the yak rides low in the rear. I’m 6’ and 210# and I mitigate this by putting the seat in the very front position and stow the majority of carry on items( small tackle box and cooler ) in the front of the kayak. Just a lightweight milk crate and 2 rods behind me. Also, make sure you unscrew the “D”rings and put silicone in them, I had one leaking bad into the hull. That being said, I can’t even think about standing up in it so I will be upgrading in the future.

I'm thinking about upgrading from my 1st fishing kayak (lifetime tamarak) next year and this boat is a serious contender. Thanks for all the great info!

I have the same kayak and I took every screw out and put marine grade silicone over them and it actually has helped from the backing out

Water gets in through the bunjicord d ring screws. U have to back the screws out and put silicone , on the screws.

I'm at 250 lbs and have used the 10T for near coastal fishing and never had an issue with water or scuppers :) Take one scupper plug out near seat and paddle it will pull it right out. The 10T is rated for 325 lbs so it is just fine for 200 plus guys.

      Hi!
I'm 220 lbs and am looking for a kayak that would fit me and my 60 lbs golden retriever. Do you think this kayak would do the job?

I just picked up an old town predator MK, and my buddy just got an Acsend 133x. The ascends are nice. Ascend always puts a lot of nice small storage /open storage spots for lures and things you need while fishing. Time to start gettin some mods for it!

Good review bro! thanks for showing the bare kayak with no seat. Nobody that I have seen included that in their review. Well Done!

This my first kayak but I don’t why I feel so unstable in the water.. I’m thinking to add some kayaks stabilizer.. I think will look dumb but I don’t want to flip over since I got a kind of expensive fish finder.. thanks for your review.

Condensation can build up inside the kayak. That's what the rear plug is for 😊

one major issue is with ascend is they worp and water gets in from the mold from scupper holes and also from the holes from handle ., over all its a good kayak hard to beat for the price

    • @suburbanangling
      @suburbanangling  3 года назад

if you leave the scupper holes unplugged it helps the water drain a bit . handles are ehh too but for the price it gets her done and then some . I might make another review when I'm 6 months into use

Very informative video. I’d be happy to see any other gear reviews you care to do. You pointed out the 3 rail systems without mentioning what they’re used for. What do people typically mount on the rails? Thanks.

Loctite blue thread locker #242. Don't get the red loctite, you want to be able to get those screws loose again if you need to replace the handle.

Not too bad if I plug the back scupper holes but if I don't plug those back holes itll get a 1/4 inch deep puddle in the back . Nothing crazy just gotta remember to plug them back scupper holes . The front holes do their job well

I have this kayak , I’m 235 and it rides low in the back . Plugs work well but waves/wake eventually fill up the back and wet my butt and becomes unstable . Need a bilge pump
