Wowwwwwwwwwww......I knew the injury was bad, but I didn't know to what extent! "We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." (Proverbs 16:9) Isn't God amazing?
This is inspirational and makes me feel reassurance in my journey. I played D1 volleyball and beach volleyball at Santa Clara and during one practice I dislocated and broke my ankle and was put on a gurney and rushed to the ER in a ambulance too. It was so scary at the time but after a lot of hard work I returned to the volleyball court a year later. I am currently applying to med school in hopes of starting in 2023!

Thanks for sharing your story. As a Mexican- American pre-med student in Los Angeles, I am not surrounded by other students that represent underserved communities. I’m not sure what your experience is as far as ethnicity is concerned, but it’s been a long hard road for me. I feel that it is important to show the underrepresented population that it is possible to pursue medicine. Your videos are a great tool to inspire people like me to persevere.
