I got an Atari 2600 for Christmas back in the day and none of the games I owned is in the Flashback Collection! No Pac-Man, no Pitfall, no Vanguard, no Phoenix ... Too bad .... if those would be included, I'd buy the Flashback Collection. Must be licensing rights money something problems (as usual).

Except it sucks that it didn’t include the best version of SFA3 where you can unlock Guile and the other features that was included in the PS1 and Dreamcast versions.
I see a lot of comments of the Sega Genesis Collection being unplayable due to the input lag. But I own this collection on the Switch and I never noticed it(and I completed about 10 games in this Collection!)
Try the Sonic games and then play them on any other platform you can find and compare. While it is possible to beat these games; even with input lag; it shouldn't be there at all; running on any current platform; even the weakest. Even slight input lag makes the game less enjoyable and disconnects the user from the experience.
@@lastchance3272 .Maybe it's better you don't play them on a Genesis, Genesis mini or other means; because once you notice; it takes you out of the game and makes it less enjoyable. Not an issue of being able to beat it or not.
Anyone can tell me how to change region on some games that allow to do it (like Landstlaker, SoR II & III, etc.)? When you select the game, there's a "L" sign in a circle, so I understand that I can change region doing something with the left stick, but nothing happens, because the L stick moves back or forward to select other games. The Switch version has no booklet or digital manual, so I don't know how to do it. Any clue? Thanks.
Why Capcom still hasn't released The Disney Afternoon Collection on the Switch is beyond me. I get it if Nintendo wanted to release those titles on the Nintendo Online Service but not a single one of these has been released on there as of yet. That would be fine, though personally, I'd rather purchase them in a separate collection.
I wish Nintendo released something like a GBA Collection that included Mario Advance 1-4, Zelda Minish Cap, Warioware, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, F-Zero, and other classics.
Another great one are the Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha & Bravo compilations, though maybe not the best priced one. Alpha gives you the excellent Strikers 1945 games, Dragon Blaze, and two somewhat mixed games. Bravo gives you Gun Bird 1 & 2 and the three Samurai Aces games. Since Alpha doesn't contain Strikers 1945 Plus, I'd recommend picking up Bravo and then buy Strikers 1945 Plus separately to get the best of Psikyo shooters.
Psykio Collection Vol 1, 2, and 3 are the better versions. They have the Strikers games on there. But Alpha and Bravo are fine if they have the games you want.
Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection is another MUST. My wish list. Metal Gear Solid Collection, Marvel Fighting and Darkstalker Collection, SNK Fighting and Metal Slug Collection, Donkey Kong Collection. And House of the Dead Collection are my dream compilations.
Love that Street Fighter 30th Collection. I play it almost every day. Whether it's Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Street Fighter 3 (Third Strike and Giant Attack), itt always being played. Definitely worth the money. It's all the arcade versions of these games
I just wished that they included Ultra Street Fighter 4... I mean, the PS4/XBONE versions had a voucher to get a digital version of USF4, but the Switch version got nothing... and yet we got SSF4 3D on 3DS, which again, Capcom didn't support with both AE and Ultra...
Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle. So many games and so few that got a US release. I never hear anyone talk about it. It was only in Japan then recently got a world wide release.
I prefer Namco Museum to Namco Museum Archives. Namco Museum gets you the arcade ports of Pac Man, Galaga, Dig Dug and others. The Archives one gets you the NES versions, which are not as good.
Capcom for some reason never ported The Disney Afternoon Collection to the Nintendo Switch. (which makes zero sense since this compilation consist of 6 Classic NES games)
One you didn't mention here is Capcom Arcade Stadium. You get 30 games with most being well known classics that gamers would actually want like Ghosts And Goblins, 1943 and Commando. It was recently announced that they would be doing a second big collection of arcade titles so now would be a great time to get the first one.
I would recommend the Konami arcade collection: it's not only a great collection of shmups, but it also includes the original arcade Castlevania game, bringing you one step closer to actually completing a Castlevania collection. I'm still hoping they do a Switch version of the Dracula X collection. It'd be a great opportunity to port over the GBA pseudo-sequels to Symphony of the Night and would be a mass seller on the platform.
I think the Resident Evil collections are the ones I have, and I also have Doom, Doom 64, Turok 2, and Duke Nukem 3D World Tour, albeit separate purchases.
Funny you mentioned, I just saw Resident Evil collection visiting my local retailer; the last one sitting the shelve, too. It'll be a miracle if that copy is still there by next month.

Time has passed and now I'm willing to buy a Nintendo Switch for 2 main reasons, it is portable and I can play classic games on it. It's a shame the sega genesis compilation on the switch has been abandoned and it hasn't been updated in a couple of years, there's serious lag problem with the emulation.
Excellent video RGT 85. There is 4 Retro Collections that are a must guys, the rest is a take it or leave it but the must Collections are - The Street Fighter Collection it's chucked with Streety goodness, Megaman 1-6 Collection the most Iconic Megaman games ever, Contra Collection it's got Super Probotector which is phenomenal and the Castlevania Collection cuz it's got Super Castlevania the Best Castlevania and one of the Best games in Gaming.
I'd love a Zapper collection, either on NES NS Online or a compilation. Duck Hunt, Wild Gunman, Hogan's Alley and Gumshoe, playable in many different ways.
Note though. I wouldn't purchase the Street Fighter Collection on Switch if you want fo play it on the go UNLESS you get the handheld Switch with the d-pad. It plays alright with the regular joy-con, but it's not entirely easy to pull off supers on both sides. At least from my experience. A d-pad would be perfect, though
You can pull off supers with the joy-con fairly easy when playing on a hand-held; you have a greater chance to execute special moves when not reacting to the opponent's action.
Kunio Kun compilations are the best. I’d also recommend getting a MiSTer. It’s so easy to have a full library of all NES, SNES, TG16, Sega, Amiga, Atari, Gameboy, NeoGeo, and Colecovision. Also, the Evercade has a lot of good compilations. 🤷🏻♂️
BTW get some of these compilations they are FANTASTIC games and good time killers for the lul periods of the switch during this pandemic where i'm not expecting many games at all in 2020 i'm really just waiting for 2021 for first party games TBH with you. So if you are desperate for something to play these retro games will not disappoint.
Best thing about SNK collection on Switch is the boxart and thumbnail aren’t CENSORED like SONY did on their platform. Because 👙 makes employees at SONY triggered because when Steve and Joe wear 👙 they just don’t look like the boxart.

Thanks for the overview. I really love these retro compilations. Some additional ones: The Kunio-kun collection is really good, it even added translations to some games that didn't have one before and has the option to reduce sprite flicker which is very nice to have, especially with these games. There's also a Namco collection of arcade games with some nice games. And, of course, there's the Mana collection which is really great (that Game Boy filter!), if you like these types of games. The Ninja JaJaMaru-kun collections has some nice games, but the standout here is actually the one new game they made for the collection. Also Taito has collections of Darius and Space Invaders games, but they are both pretty expensive, so I haven't played them. And I guess the Grandia collection would be considered "retro" as well nowadays.
So I have a Nintendo switch and a PS4. I own almost all of these compilations digitally on both consoles . I have also bought these games physically as well. For those of you who like to collect physically, The only thing I don’t like about the switch is they never put any goodies in the box of the physical copy. No book, no nothing. So I usually download these retro games on the switch that way I can play them portably but I get the physical copy on the PS4. A lot of times the PS4 version will have some neat stuff inside the case
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is available for free if you have a Prime Gaming subscription. Also the Sega Genesis Classics on Switch is missing 2 games available on other platforms.
Contra was called probotector bc the ' contra ' term was associated with a violent rebel group in south america and konami didn't want to associate the game in that manner.

Note though. I wouldn't purchase the Street Fighter Collection on Switch if you want fo play it on the go UNLESS you get the handheld Switch with the d-pad. It plays alright with the regular joy-con, but it's not entirely easy to pull off supers on both sides. At least from my experience. A d-pad would be perfect, though
You can pull off supers with the joy-con fairly easy when playing on a hand-held; you have a greater chance to execute special moves when not reacting to the opponent's action.

Kunio Kun compilations are the best. I’d also recommend getting a MiSTer. It’s so easy to have a full library of all NES, SNES, TG16, Sega, Amiga, Atari, Gameboy, NeoGeo, and Colecovision. Also, the Evercade has a lot of good compilations. 🤷🏻♂️

BTW get some of these compilations they are FANTASTIC games and good time killers for the lul periods of the switch during this pandemic where i'm not expecting many games at all in 2020 i'm really just waiting for 2021 for first party games TBH with you. So if you are desperate for something to play these retro games will not disappoint.

Best thing about SNK collection on Switch is the boxart and thumbnail aren’t CENSORED like SONY did on their platform. Because 👙 makes employees at SONY triggered because when Steve and Joe wear 👙 they just don’t look like the boxart.

Thanks for the overview. I really love these retro compilations. Some additional ones:
The Kunio-kun collection is really good, it even added translations to some games that didn't have one before and has the option to reduce sprite flicker which is very nice to have, especially with these games. There's also a Namco collection of arcade games with some nice games. And, of course, there's the Mana collection which is really great (that Game Boy filter!), if you like these types of games. The Ninja JaJaMaru-kun collections has some nice games, but the standout here is actually the one new game they made for the collection.
Also Taito has collections of Darius and Space Invaders games, but they are both pretty expensive, so I haven't played them. And I guess the Grandia collection would be considered "retro" as well nowadays.

So I have a Nintendo switch and a PS4. I own almost all of these compilations digitally on both consoles . I have also bought these games physically as well. For those of you who like to collect physically, The only thing I don’t like about the switch is they never put any goodies in the box of the physical copy. No book, no nothing. So I usually download these retro games on the switch that way I can play them portably but I get the physical copy on the PS4. A lot of times the PS4 version will have some neat stuff inside the case
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is available for free if you have a Prime Gaming subscription. Also the Sega Genesis Classics on Switch is missing 2 games available on other platforms.
The audio when you're onscreen is off to my ear. Your voiceover audio during gameplay is perfect, but not when you're onscreen.

Contra was called probotector bc the ' contra ' term was associated with a violent rebel group in south america and konami didn't want to associate the game in that manner.
