DEATH ROAD TO CANADA! My favorite indie game ever! I've literally put like 150 hours into it, and I keep playing. If you play on holidays there are special events and characters. Definitely do a run every Christmas and Thanksgiving.
I'm pretty sure you may enjoy the original Megaman Legacy Collection the most, was developed by Digital Eclipse (who also did the SNK 40th, so you'll see a lot of those extra features there as well) based on the original NES versions, they've thrown a metric ton of extra features in it, savestates, rewind (which aren't even really in Legacy Collection 2 or the X Legacy Collections, sadly enough) but there's also a vast 'challenge mode' featuring tests of skill inspired by the various NES games! I do have about half of these titles already on switch, it's definitely heaven for a retrogaming fan like myself, especially since its portable!
Megaman X4 is by FAR the best Megaman X game, specially when you play as Zero. Zero is a very unique experience compared to the other games & is by far the most fun bit of the entire X series. Also, the series fell off HARD after X4, so you really aren't missing much by not having the 2nd release. Oh, and X4 was not a SNES game, it was a PS1/Saturn game. Assuming that was pretty obvious looking @ the graphics compared to the first three games.
Great video and well aware of several of them and plan to pick up if I have the time and money, and yes the Switch rocks you need to do a collection video someday as it would be sick to see all your games!
Couldn't agree more on the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection. I pre-ordered the fantastic collector's edition on the strength of Crystalis alone (one of my all-time favorite games), but the entire package is top-notch. Worth mentioning you can not only watch the TAS runs as the game "plays itself", but you can jump in and take over at any time -- so you can let the TAS get past a tough boss, and then pick it up from there.
Apologies if you have been corrected on this, but Megaman X 4 was on the PlayStation 1, not the SNES. That said, good list! You're right about Death Road to Canada! Man that game had me so hooked for the longest time! 😹
#9 If anything, let's hope that Terry's inclusion in Smash Bros Ultimate has enticed players to discover SNK as a game company, along with its library ;)

For RPG fans it's simple: Octopath Traveler and, of course, Dragon Quest XI S Definitive Edition. Ooooh man, do NOT miss Dragon Quest XI S if you're a fan of BOTH the SNES RPGs and the PS2 ones. I don't expect an RPG in this list because RPGs to Dan are what racing and fighting games are to me and that's great and precious, too! Everyone has their style. 4:10 YES! =D For me what you said at 5:44 is specially important. 7:40 I NEED this one. =D 12:36 ANOTHER one I definitely need. 15:52 Oh how could I not get this. Good thing Mexico somewhat loved it, too because official retailers were SCARCE as all hell here. Amazing list! I don't know if I will get the Zero collection because I already own the one on the DS and man, I'm so glad I got to try them. Only Mega Man platforms I know about that have a story THAT COMES TO A CLOSURE. Bravo!
Dragon Quest 11 isn't retro. It has the retro mode, but considering that the game is still a rerelease with that mode added, it doesn't count. Collection of Mana, on the other hand, does count and is very worth it.
I know you said "no obvious ones" but this had too many shmups and lacked the Genesis collection, Megaman Legacy collection 1 & 2, Lion King/Aladdin, as well as Grandia and the Mana collections. Would have been nice to at least see them as honorable mentions.

Glad to see Ninja Saviours getting some love on this list. I used to rent Ninja Warriors for the SNES from Global Video over and over again. Sadly I never added it to my own collection and now it's just a little too much for me now. I pre-ordered this for my Switch and was well impressed even with the basic version. Got a reverseable cover, a manual, a poster and stickers. Pretty decent I must say.
In all honesty, The first Megaman X Anniversary collection is all you need if you want to get into the X series since it has X1-4 which are the best games in the series. Anything after that is a waste of time unless you willingly like getting tortured
On one hand I feel like the switch is perfect maybe even the ultimate retro console. On the other hand every time a game company decides to be cheap and not include the entire game/collection on the actual physical media essentially making the game useless as anytime you need to download part of a game it basically ruins the physical game's value. I feel like the switch is great as a digital machine but it felt like that was the plan all along as you see with so many companies not including the entire game and forcing you to download chunks and undermining the whole point of having a physical game in the first place. I wish I could say I could see it changing in the future but not for a good while.
It's still the better of the collection, Just skip Collection 2 unless you wanna see all of the critically flawed games that you'll probably only play once and let collect dust until you forget how bad they were.

Even Shantae or Sonic Mania, Freedom Planet... I've missed many games as well... so who will deem that Megaman is still somehere near beeing one of the best platformers of all time?
There is never a definitive best platform game but Megaman franchise is absolutelly inarguibly and historically one of the best platformers ever created, and that's a fact! Since NES era the gameplay was innovative for the time and stand out strong even today, each new game was constantly improving and bringing something new, a lot of its mechanics are copied by other games in nowadays and just the fact that the franchise have more than 30 great regarded games on it's domain is hugelly impressive, we are still getting new megaman games in these days and good ones. The series was able to branch into platform, RPG, Swordsman gameplay (with zero), 3D adventure (on N64), had mangas, animes, Trading card games, toys and so on... Although other games you cited are realy amazing as well, they don't have the same impact as Megaman had in gaming culture or did just the same impact (like Sonic, Cuphead, Castlevania DeadCells), but to downsize Megaman importance in gaming history it's very unfair.

Very good video. Most of the games I want just aren't on the switch, not ATM. I don't like any of the N64 games on the expansion. I liked shadows of the empire, goldeneye, top gear rally, perfect dark and blast corps. Not one of them are on there. Same situation as the genesis ones. I liked deserts strike, urban strike, jungle strike, Bart Vs space mutants alien 3. Again none of them are there. On arcade classics would have loved to see midnight resistance, bank panic and Tron . But have found some I liked arcade wise like green beret, crystal castles (atari collection) and circus Charlie. But would make my switch really worth having if all those other games eventually shown up or at least some of them.
I avoid LR games now, so have to be careful not to support them. I love how the Psikyo collection lets you go into vertical mode. I use my flip grip that way to make it just like it was in the arcade.
GBA is supposed to be my favorite game system of all time, but the Switch is challenging my custom pecking order every time i go to the bathroom. No. 2's are overly epic these days.
I have the switch and I am thinking of getting 2 more switch lites. Ine to put all the indys on and the other for retro games and old ports. Then just keep all current on home switch. Anybody else thought of doing that? Is it easy to move from one switch to the other or a hassle?
Gotta hand it to nintendo, overpriced games that you can sell for 3-4 times the price you paid in a few years time. Better than putting money in a bank.
My favourite retro collection on the Switch is the Castlevania one. Hopefully they'll release a Metroidvania one

I avoid LR games now, so have to be careful not to support them. I love how the Psikyo collection lets you go into vertical mode. I use my flip grip that way to make it just like it was in the arcade.

I have the switch and I am thinking of getting 2 more switch lites.
Ine to put all the indys on and the other for retro games and old ports. Then just keep all current on home switch.
