    Hi Drew. My wife and I just bought a 12x65 single wide. It's a full gut Reno, including leveling 7.5 inches end to end. I'm experienced in contacting and a licensed electrician, but learned a ton of new tricks watching your videos. Thanks, we're hoping it turns out.

      Number one I will say congratulations on your home purchase. I love mobile homes that’s why I try to fix them like I do. Mobile Home is a good way to live without spending your wallet for crying out loud why live in a big ass house when you can live comfortably with no bills in a mobile home, so God bless you for that and good luck with your project. I have many videos out there that I hope will help you and if you have any questions, feel free to ask me I can share particular videos with you if you need to see that also.

      Inch and 5/8 screws for installing the subfloor I use exterior deck screws. They’re more expensive but when you put your flooring down like linoleum, the screws won’t show your flooring like a regular galvanized screw will

    If I can’t afford advantech what is the next best choice for wood flooring and should I go with a 1” for stronger floor? Thank you so much for your videos

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair

      If you cannot afford it, use standard three-quarter inch plywood 23/32

    New to the channel…. Just curious whats the best way to get rid of a dead rodent that has climbed into your flooring…?

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  2 года назад

      I had to get one out of my floor it died and it was stinking in my closet that’s the only place I could smell it so I went under the house cut a hole and started feeling around we found it pulled it out it was nasty. The best thing you can do is not put rat killer in your house because they will die in your house. Use mouse traps and bait. But do not use the stuff that kills them or they will die in your house I hate that when that happens. Do you have to go under the house find out where the smell was coming from cut a hole and pull it out

    What's the most common size flooring to use??

  • @FLManDan-p8k
    @FLManDan-p8k 3 месяца назад +1

    Is that subfloor 2x4? I’m doing a Mobile home floor in oct in FL. The existing subfloor is about 3.5” thick - OSB on top, then some kind of d of paper water cells product, then OSB on bottom. It must have been a panel they laid down on the frame when constructed. I wish I could post a pic of it. Strangest stuff.
    Question for you please - my trailer is next to water and sometimes water comes under the trailer about 10” high under the trailer. Would you recommend advantek flooring?

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  3 месяца назад

      Yes, sometimes you do run into them Mobile Home Floors that only have two by floors for the floor. It’s crazy.

      @FLManDan-p8k Where are you in Florida? I'm hoping to visit end of the summer, West Palm Beach. I have renovated houses but not mobile homes. More interested in learning than in money

      Thanks for the reply Drew. Do you think I should use Advantek or maybe marine grade plywood for my floor? I don’t anticipate it getting wet. I have used Advantek before and it is good stuff. I suspect it won’t decompose like the existing OSB floor.
      I think I figured out how to fix my floor. I’m just going to fix the outside 3.5 feet along the length of the trailer That is cause the frame is 3.5’ outrigger, 6’ center section between 2 I beams and then 3.5’ outrigger. The room is a BR but only 9’ wide - so I really can’t replace the whole floor cause that 6’ section under the wall. But I’m ok with patching it. I think I have a good plan. I’m going to make an abridged recording of it - maybe you could post it as a ‘guest’ recording. It will show one way to replace that crazy 3.5” OSB/cardboard wafer/OSB subfloor.

    You’re using a left handed circular saw?

    • @ScrappingwithGrandpa
      @ScrappingwithGrandpa Год назад +1

      I’ve never seen a saw different from this one. If this is a left-handed saw then every sought I have ever used as a left-handed saw I’m not sure what you’re talking about exactly but thanks for the coming anyways.

    • @marcusjames3035
      @marcusjames3035 Год назад +1

      @@ScrappingwithGrandpa your saw has the motor on the left side which means you have to look over the entire saw to the right side to see the blade. Other saws have the housing in the right side so you can look straight down at the cut line. Easier to use a speed square as a guide etc.

      @@Drewsroofingandhomerepair gotcha. Oh and by the way, I was about to start a kitchen remodel for my mother on her double wide 1972. She has some soft floors in spots. After watching your videos, I called her today and told he that it’s probably not a good idea until she gets the floors repaired. You scared me. I know, if it’s made of wood it can be fixed. She just ain’t got the money for it. She wants kitchen cabinets but I’m also,afraid she may only have 2x3 for wall studs

      Fix the floor first find out what the reason for the soft spots are. Thanks for watching my friend I’m not trying to scare you like I said if it’s made of wood you can fix it it is time consuming and can be costly
