What I love about these low elo games are that time and time again players fail to follow though in situations where I was sure victory was guaranteed, leaves me dumbfounded and entertained.

what I love about LEL is that at any point in time, if a decent player takes the spot of the low elo he just wins in 10 minutes. Even in the absolute lowest moment.

I like seeing these low games because if they were all Viper vs Hera or something they’re always in imperial age 3 minutes in and start spamming the same units. These games are more chaotic. Plus low players are more likely to invest in Teutonic knights and longbows because RANGE and CAPES.
This. The unit variety is much better at lower ELOs. Meanwhile pros are extremely likely to just play meta, as that's competitive and there isn't a lot outside of that that's competitive.
@@martijn9568 I keep thinking they should buff the unique units. Make them super expensive, but make them monsters. Give the longbows thumb ring and 10 extra range. If you’re playing as Britons and making archers, but they’re not longbows, the game is wrong.

Imo megarandom is a good exercise in your ability to adapt not only to your enemy, but also the environment itself. If you're a pro player who is the best at playing Arabia, but you can't physically play any other map, you can't really call yourself the best in the world. Alteast IMO. And yes, I only play Megarandom for the most part. Sometimes I take a break with Gigarandom.
when i was a kid playing this game, when testing civs the first thing i thought of was 'how good are their towers, castles, and walls' cause i loved to turtle and played exclusively islands/team islands on single player cause i had no idea voobly even existed. watching these make me realize that i am not as bad as i think i am, but only cause i know build orders (though i dont know unit counters so i fall apart in lategame).
missed times when i was younger and nooby. always had 30 vils. 10 women on food, 5 men on stone, 5 on gold and mix 10 on wood :D ... ooo and never want to lose any solider :D

I feel Orange is the younger player. Orange wants kills. Blue likes to make a pretty base and get fully ready for attacks which is much more like what an older person would do.
I have watched probably 10 to 15 of these low elo legends and Usually I can laugh and have a good time but this one by far made me the most upset…I physically got angry watching those 50 obuch right click a treb…..i need a beer now

Cap was operating with 0 villagers on eco for a long time and still won! In low elo legends winning is about heart above all else, skill is just a bonus!
LiMe86 had nowhere to build a new force and even if he'd emerged from the woods with a heap of cavaliers (paladins?), he'd have had trouble creating siege to take Cap down.
well tbh I played my first ranked game recently, the moment the guy dropped a tower in feudal in my base, I was like "well maybe I can win but I'm not sure I want to deal with that stress" and resigned, so I get the pressure thing
was watching a legends vid recently and i thought of something that might help out the low elos. make it so you cant research coinage in 1v1 games. Idk maybe its overkill.

I played megarandom the other day and both my opponent and I got a free stable from the start. He was Franks. I was Mayans.
Only if you were Incas or Aztecs, Stables would have been useful

clicking trebs to sacrifice 20 military hurt me more than my appendix bursting.

How else are you supposed to know what each thing is? You don’t play with the help overlay turned off do you?

the way i see it, in mega random building orders matter less so mid elo are the ones who struggle more
