Demolition Man is an underrated instant classic. Funny, Prescient, and awesome. And you can tell Wesley was having fun.
Always fun to see someone try ice-skating uphill, for the first time! Blade was my favorite comic book movie back when I was a kid!

The main bad guy in this is Stephen Dorff,Wesleys partner is played by singer and movie star Kris Kristofferson.Part two also has Donnie Yen,Ron Pearlman,the guy that was Vin Disels buddy in The Fast And The Furious that did not like Paul Walkers character.

@@PaulHilburger Yeah, exactly. More accurate to say that he ushered in the new generation of Marvel superhero movies. He got Marvel out of bankruptcy and they were able to make the original Spiderman and X-Men movies. Also, DC had put out 3 Batman movies in the 90's. (Honerable mentions also include: Darkman, The Phantom and The Shadow. I'm sure I'm missing others.) But superhero's on the screen goes way back to the 40's and 50's with Flash Gordon and the original Superman. Then Batman and Robin, etc.

17:10 - Fun Fact: The actor who loses his hand to Blade's sword is Matt Schulze, best known as Vince in the Fast & Furious films. He's so unrecognizable that when casting for Blade II was being done (after his appearance in the first F&F film, which he had a beard and different haircut), they asked him if he wanted to be in a Blade movie, to which he responded, "I already have been," but then signed on to play Chupa in the second film.

I saw this movie in the theater. When blade stabbed his mom with the bone, someone in the theater yelled "He boned his mama" super loud. The entire theater erupted with laughter

I remember when i was like 8 years old i went to Blockbuster to rent VHS movies with my dad. I picked Blade, and the cashier told my dad “wow this one is a good one i love this movie” and my dad pointed at me because i was the one that chose it😂 The cashier was hyped and high fived me. Core memory for me.

R.I.P. To Kris Kristofferson who played Whistler. Not only was he a great actor. (Check out Convoy) He was also a great country singer. The man is a legend.
Donal Logue, (aka Quinn/Mr. Crispy) has a history of acting in comic/video game properties. He appeared in "Max Payne", in the TV series "Gotham", and in one of the "Resident Evil" movies. He also did several commercial promos for MTV in the late 80's, early 90's.

@Devin G this SAVED Marvel as they were a laughing stock in films and stuff they did in the 70's and early80's this film came out and put them on the map and it was rated R 20 years before Deadpool. The original OG black superhero movie (except spawn I guess) but the one that really kicked it off for marvel, before we were obsessed with with classifying things like we do now, but oh well here we are I guess

A black martial artist (Michael Jai White/Wesley Snipes) leading a dark comic movie with serious villain talent (Martin Sheen/Stephen Dorf), a hot villainess (Melinda Clark/Sanaa Lathan), a big CGI monster (the devil/la magra), and an annoying minion (Jon Leguizamo/Donal Logue)...
Specific plots aside they are extremely similar movies. Blade just toned down the CGI and grossness. Not having a lead in burn make-up probably helped also 😅
Don’t mess with Blade. Him and the Punisher are my favorite marvel characters.
The other two are just as good as this one, and you'll enjoy the other stars in them as well!

Nowadays Disney and Marvel have problems with making another Blade movie. Instead of making Blade kick vampires' butts they wrote a script about few females talking about their feelings with Blade being a tertiary character in his own show. Thankfully the project was axed but they still can't figure out the obvious formula.

Wesley is a monster in fighting. I always wanted him to go at it with my boy Jean Claude back in the day.
Fun fact: Blade hates Familiars (Humans that work and wanna be vampires) much much much more than vampires themselves.
EDIT: Please don't miss to watch Blade 2, it's far better than Blade 1. Trust me, you wont regret it.
