I’m sure most people have told you guys by now but yes, Blade is one of the reasons why the MCU even exists, along with X-Men and Spider-Man. At the time, Blade was not marketed as a Marvel movie at all despite the character being owned by them. Also at the time, causal movie goers were not aware of Blade’s origins in the comics and just thought that he was just an original creation. In the early comics, Blade wasn’t even half-vampire. He was more or less a very trained dude in the art of armed and unarmed combat. But later on, they reconned him as the character he is today being born a half-vampire. He possessed all of the abilities of vampires but has none of their standard weaknesses such as sunlight, silver and garlic. But… he still ages as a human and he does inherit the thirst, which is why he prefers the strum that was created for him. He dislikes drinking human blood. So yes, it’s a Marvel movie but it’s pre-MCU.

I'm surprised toward the end of the movie that both of them seem to totally forget Whistler's clear exposition to Karen about Blade's hybrid nature between being human and having Vampire traits after his mother was bitten. It's obvious that Blade has inherited certain vampire traits like when they said is ok for Blade to be out in the sun toward the end of the movie. I was like the other vampires have been referring to Blade as "The Daywalker" throughout the entire movie, unless they thought it was his nickname LOL!

This is the original Marvel hero, the OG of them all. This is a good film but Blade 2 is the best of the trilogy 👌🏽 can't wait for the next one.
Also as you don't do Marvel movies, then this isn't a spoiler .. but in Deadpool and Wolverine, Blade is back in that and he got the biggest cheer in the cinema when he appeared because everyone loves him.
If you haven't reacted to it yet, you should add Rising Sun (Wesley Snipes, Sean Connery, Harvey Keitel) to your list. Also, 13th Warrior (Antonio Banderas, Omar Sharif) is worth a look - based on the Micheal Crichton novel "Eaters of the Dead."

Blade 2 is absolutely incredible.
Blade II dials up the awesomeness
I love peeping people perpetually pushing blades name to the legend status he deserves 😅😂
More vamp films ripe for reaction; 30 Days Of Night. Near Dark. Let The Right One In ( or it's really good American remake, Let Me In) Bram Stoker's Dracula
"My sword!". "His blade." lol
Blade 2 is amazing you two have to watch it soon. Guillermo Del Toro directed it. It's a fantastic sequel and we are lucky to have it.
Still the best comic book movie ever made!
Welcome to the Blade Family enjoy the journey RIP Kris Kristofferson
Yeah!!!
Another TBR Schmitt!!!!!
One of my favourite Marvel movies of all time, and Wesley Snipes is perfect as Blade.
Whoa what a surprise this one is. How have you never seen Blade?? I love you two so much I’m watching the Dodgers/Padres game on mute because I can’t wait for this reaction. I LOVE Blade!!! Also, watch Blade 2 someday.
Christopher Lee as Dracula will always be my favorite vampire but Snipes as Blade is definitely the coolest.
This movie was a mass phenomenon at late 90s, and its "Blade's Theme" ruled the dance floors for years (believe me, it did). It has style, drama, action, drops of comedy, a perfect villain, everything. And it has also the blueprint of "how to introduce a superhero in a movie". Pure epic.
"White Men Can't Jump" is an AWESOME Wesley Snipes movie...w/ Woody Harelson.
Blade 2 is one of the most fun movies ever. Think Blade plus World Wrestling Federation. It is just magnificent.
Blade 2 is trash. Blade has the worst looking shades in 2.
@DestinyAwaits19 Come on baby! You know you had fun too. Oakley didn't pay up for merchandising. But it's O.K.
@@DestinyAwaits19 I just hated the retcon
@@mikethemotormouth His shades were cooler in 1 and 3.
Kris Kristofferson, R.I.P.... You always were Marvel's greatest sidekick...
Hello Friends👋I've been waiting for this one to get Approved😅and I'm Happy You Enjoyed it as much as I Hoped You

ASAP🙏not only is it Better than this, but it's even More Bad@$$ too!⚔(LOL)
This is an action horror, can't convince me otherwise.
This movie proved to Marvel they can make a movie and it actually be great.
Kris Kristofferson, AKA Whistler. Singer, song writer, and actor. He died on September 28th 2024, he was 88 years old.
Not to mention: son of a US Army General, Military Academy at West Point graduate, helicopter pilot and eventually an instructor at West Point before turning to music. Kris actually landed a helicopter on Johnny Cash’s property to give him a demo tape that helped kickstart Kris’ career.
In an EXCELLENT twist, Stephen Doriff became the original spokesman for a hip new product about 15 years ago called Blu, the first mass marketed E-Cigarette.
The best part about his campaign was that Vaping was safer than smoking - and most importantly, you can do it anywhere! at the bar, a basketball game, in an airplane; all with no smell! We know how that went.
Still the best Marvel movie IMHO.
Fun fact Steven Dorf (frost) had red contacts in. but he couldn't see. so he did that fight scene partially blind
Let's goooo. This is my favorite Marvel movie. The 2nd blade is pretty good too. Awesome reaction y'all.
This was me & The Wife’s first movie date.
More Wesley Snipes top picks: "White Men Can't Jump", "Money Train" both with Woody Harrelson, "Passanger 57", "Drop Zone", "New Jack City". Also, Snipes was in a movie you guys watched on the channel, "Major League".
