To answer your question: There's a series of comics called Old Man Logan & Deadpool, which are basically the misadventures of the two of them in the distant future (since they both regenerate they've outlived most of the others). That is a huge inspiration for this film
The TVA is basically the whole story in Loki season 1 and 2. You'll learn more about it after you watch those seasons. Alot of stuff will be confusing for ya since you're watching this so early

They are references to different times in the comics for Wolverine. The short Wolvie is about how tall he really is in the comics. But the proportions were kinda off in this. The one with the patch and white suit is from a period when Logan went 'incognito' in an Asian island called Madripoor and called himself Patch. The one that was in the alley that had the larger hair and only one hand was from an alternate timeline where a big bad guy named Apocalypse defeated most of the X-Men and took over the world. The version that you didn't recognize with the white tanktop and motorcycle was actually Henry Cavill. There had been rumors for years that he was going to take over the role of Wolverine from Hugh Jackman. Never really happened so this was a little treat thrown in for the fans. The Wolverine on the X cross with the skulls all around was from a storyline in the comics where the X-Men are in Australia and a band of cyborgs called The Reavers attacked them. That image of him on the cross with the skulls was the cover of one of the comics.
