This whole album is pure masterpiece. This one and Malediction Murder being my favorites from Slaughtersun. One of my very favorites from this genre along with Naglfar - Diabolical and Dissection - Storm Of The Light's Bane.

Fortunately for you matey, I actually got them to listen to Vinterland last August. Should be able to find it if you just search "VinAnd Sori Vinterland", song was "As I Behold the Dying Sun". Maybe if I ever pay for another stream I'll get them to do Sacramentum as well, so they will have heard all of the big classic melodic black metal bands.
@@ArdensSedVirens1 Sacramentum's music is a little more "buried" in the production, especially on Far Away from the Sun. It took many spins for everything to surface.
@@vladtepes9614 Iunno, they might be more 'buried' than, say, on a Dissection album, but everything is still pretty clear on Far Away From the Sun imo.
Also I haven't seen you in awhile! Dunno if you know already or not, but they've been streaming on a new channel, search "My Sori Life" (it's really VinAnd Sori Live now but the algorithm hasn't caught up) and you will find it. Drop by whenever you have the time :)

Someone on that stream said thats Tomas Asklund on drums which is not correct. He joined after the album came out. The drummer on this album is Jocke Pettersson which played drums for Thy Primordial and Regurgitate. The previous drummer was Karston Larsson which played in Mithotyn, King of Asgard, and Falconer.
Amazing album from Dawn!
Woe are CRIMINALLY underrated in the black metal world. Their entire discography is solid. You'd do well to hear more of them! This was a little more subdued song of theirs, the other song on this EP goes HARD. They mix in a little bit of a hardcore punk influence in the best way. "This Is The End Of The Story" from their 2013 album Withdrawal hits just right.

This was a fun idea. I've had this Dawn album since it came out, and I love it and feel they're more than a bit underrated. I've heard a little bit of Woe before, but I never knew they covered this track. Overall, the production and performance on the original definitely wins, but the one weakness of this particular track has always been Dawn's vocals, which are a bit too repetitive and unchanging considering how long this song is. While I didn't love Woe's death metal vocals, the build-up and variation in vocal styles were very well done. Dawn still wins, though.
DUDES, I missed this one, THIS SONG is one of my all time favorite songs in blackmetal, GOOD JOB, GUYS.
You guys need to check out Abyssos - Worthless soul for sale.. One of the best Melodic Black metal songs.
If you enjoyed Thomas' drum work here, you should check - and, if you wish - prepare a reaction video to - any of the songs on DF's Vobiscum satanas album, especially the title track. I hate it because of the lyrics - although I know the way they depict the events does not really correspond to reality or the purpose of what happened to our Lord - yet I consider it one of the, if not the very best BM song ever written and recorded. And this may well be due to the deep hatred that drives it, also sensible through Thomas' intense drumming. No wonder no band has really covered it, and the only covers are by the drummers that followed in Thomas' steps becoming the subsequent drummers in DF, Mate Modin and Dominator...
