You guys should check out Windir - Journey to the End, Burzum - Det Som Engang Var, and Elder - Sanctuary
I second Det Som Engang Var
Jake Superchi, the lead singer, actually directed this video. His first outing in that role and I think he did an amazing job. One of my all time favorite bands. I live in the Seattle area, so I've had the pleasure of seeing them live several times. Every time they are absolutely electrifying! Thanks for reviewing them! From that album, my favorite song is Mirrors. Check it out.
You LuCKy SOB!
UADA means Haunted in Latin. Pronounced Oo-aw-duh, formed in 2014 and their subject matter is nature, paganism and darkness.
I thought it meant void
Inanis means void or empty
React to Be'lakor!
Countless Skies
FUCKING YES! Countless skies, outlive the hand or the smoke of many fires would be fantastic
In Parting would be the song to go, obviously.
Be'lakor has never made just a mediocre song
Revocation - Blood Atonement
Obscura - Septuagint
Impure Wilhelmina - Murderers
Saw these guys last November, regrettably never heard of them prior as I came for one of the opening acts, but got to say after seeing Satyricon, Dimmu Borgir and Enslaved all within a month or two prior Uada actually did the most solid performance
Really good video and song. I'm glad you two finally reacted to an UADA song after having reviewed Mgla. Both are doing really good melodic bm but I would recommend going back to some classics from Sacramentum - anything from "Far Away from the Sun", Lord Belial or Vinterland.
pvilches06 Sacramentum is incredible
Great American Black Metal bands:
Judas Iscariot
Leviathan
Xasthur
Or some Blackened thrash like Absu
Deadliest Assassin i would go for some Nifelheim instead. not american but much better than Absu
Yeah they're a good band. But i still prefer Absu Tara time period over them. Or for Swedish i'd say Naglfar's Diabolical era or Necrophobic's Nocturnal Silence. I really love Unanimated too. Ancient God Of Evil album.
Crimson Moon was a pretty cool band from usa. I have their 1st album To Embrace The Vampyric Blood.
Deadliest Assassin clicky drums man. get over that shit. THIS IS PURE FUCKING REVENGE itunes.apple.com/us/album/chainsaw-gutsfuck/1133148012?i=1133148734
Alcest- Écailles de Lune part 1&2
UADA - Mirrors. Best track on that album.
Agreed! It's my favorite they've done so far!
I prefer snakes and vultures but this whole album is stellar
Residual Blight - Kriegsmaschine (Side project of the official musicians of Mgla).
In regards to solos in black metal, this type of black metal is more about creating an atmosphere and having everything wash over you. Just kind of puts you in a daze. Solos kind of break that immersion.
You got to do Saor after this,Sori will love it...
FINALLY!!!! Uada is def my current fav American black metal band
Yah they're pretty good , my son's in the band
If you get the chance to see these guys do it. I met the whole band and hungout and drank beer with them, very cool guys
Come on, Vin! Portland is the Mecca of US underground!
Agalloch is from there, for example.
Winter of Apokalypse, from Portland is, no shit, amazing!
Yay! That's exactly one of this moments when I'm happy about my insomnia ;) \m/
Opeth - Demon of the Fall!!
I dont think they see your comments..... great dedication though... :P
You can do it! At least the patrons will notice.
Uada are by far my favorite black metal band, and they're from Portland, OR, just like me, so that's awesome
Moonspell - Night Eternal
Check out Absu. You guys will love them. They're from Texas and they're Black metal with a hint of thrash. Never Blow Out The Eastern Candle.
Woah awesome pick, didn't think this would happen
Mystifier- An Elizabethan Devil Worshipper's Prayer Book
Novembers Doom - Autumn Reflection
Over 415.
I'm eager to see this band in live. They'll play in Hellfest in France in june. Thanks to review this band.
No worries, you will love it with no questions asked. They are magnificient live as well. I saw them two time already in a same tour but two different places. Seeing them again this april hahahaha. Simply love and respect for these boys.
uada-Sphere (Imprisonment)
That’s probably my favorite black metal song I have heard so far. 🤘🏼
Don't you think it's time to make them listen to Deafheaven?
Hell Yeah.
Yeah
No
Hell no
No
Uada is Latin for "haunted" -- Encyclopedia Metallum. For more info on the band -- www.metal-archives.com/bands/Uada/3540409911
Uada - the purging fire
Arch Enemy - We Will Rise + Fields of Desolation (LIVE Tyrants of the Rising Sun)
Rotting Christ - The Raven
That new album they came out with is great...
This is the kind of band that I regret not to have ever listened to before... that's was fucking awsome.
U.S.A. have a good Black Metal scene, check out Absu, Thorrnspawn or Kult Ov Azazel.
Please react to "Nothing Is Not" by Morbid Angel and "In Their Darkened Shrines" by Nile.
Do Shade Empire `Anti-Life Saviour`!
Paradise lost - longest winter
I saw UADA play back in July in my hometown of Laredo, TX. First Black Metal Show I’ve ever been through and what a phenomenal show they managed to pull. Also one thing they’re identities are secretive that during the show one of the persons in charge of the band was monitoring the crowd if any photos were taking with the flash. We could still take photos but without the flash. After the show I met two of the band members the drummer and rhythm guitarist. Every nice guys to talk to. If you haven’t seen Uada live or heard their music you gotta check them out. One of best modern black metal bands to come out of the U.S.
Dark horizons, dissection..
.mgla leather jackets, black hoodies, guitar riffs(LITERALLY!)...posers, plagiarism. Hope the Pope of black metal, fenriz calls them out. Faith
Sori- "This, I'm like, Naaaah I'm not going to those mountains"😂😂😂🤣🤣
Mgłada... I mean Uagła. Shit, I can never get it right.
W.A.S.P. - Golgotha
As good and proper Christians ye'd think Vin & Sori would not only have heard this song already, it would rank as among their favourite power ballads. Hell, I'm an atheist and think the song's amazing. Golgotha was where Jesus was crucified outside Jerusalem.
Yea Daimon is a super incognito guy, never talks. You barely even know he exists.....right. You guys are hilarious.
I've been looking forward to this once since I saw it was coming in the alliance picks thread. Never heard this band, but melodic BM is right up my alley. As such I wanted to wait and hear this one for the first time when you guys did.
Not my favorite black metal vocals but I didn't hate this, some of the vocals were actually deathy growls in some spots, which was an interesting choice. Musically it was terrific. Nothing super innovative, but extremely well done. Some great transition riffs in there though. the one at 6:30 stuck out. Also, a solo! Not a crazy solo but it fit perfectly and solos aren't something you see a ton of in black metal. There is a great lead at about 8:22 in the video which is reminscent of a lead section in Light of Day, Day of Darkness. That leads in to a very memorable melody lead at 9 mins. Beautiful stuff.
Similar to Mgla for sure, but not at all bad and has a couple of things that make it a little different (namely the vocal variety and the solos, more heavy focus on melody leads).
Some day Vin and Sori will make me very happy. They will react to Pantera-Avoid the Light. I will be very happy on that day.
Windir - Journey to the end
Victory once again! So this was my pick in the TRVE KVLT group, (this is my third song: Roots Remain, and Apparition by SoP). I absolutely love this band, people call them a "MGLA worship band" but that's not fair. There is plenty of instrumental differences and the vocals are very diverse.
There are a TON of great American BM bands! And especially here on the West Coast we have Ash Borer, Wolves in the Throne Room, Inquisition ect. There are so many more it's crazy. WITTR and Agalloch and UADA (pronounced oo-da) are from the Pacific Northwest Cascadian Mountain ranges and vast forests (Oregon, Washington, NorCal). The reason, I think, BM thrives here is the Scandinavian-esqe landscapes and weather and tbh the depressing, yet beautiful, atmosphere. The aesthetics are something i'm very familiar with and is truly home. I grew up in the Redwood Curtain, so Portland, Oregon is a little bit far but tbh the U.S is so big that if I can drive to your city in an afternoon than you're a local band lol.
But yeah, I'm glad you guys liked it as much as I do.
Just watched this streaming on my TV, never noticed how blue sori's eyes were before.
Vin, hinting to Sori that he wants her to veil. *tsk* *tsk* *tsk*
Uada's best song: Natus Eclipsim, check it ;)
I'm not much of a black metal fan, but damn this is one I've got to buy.
"Even hell can get comfy once you've settled in."
This actually a really good black metal band 👌 for sure
Agalloch retired- they took over for the best blackish atmospheric metal. And kicked it up a notch.
Arkhon Infaustus - When They Have Called
I'm gonna give you guys an early congratulations on 100k subs 👍👏. Keep em coming
Channels not bad, but this is black metal. Instruments are the force here, wall of sound guitars were beautifully melodic and progressive, blast beats raised the song, but settled into grooves perfectly when it was needed, the leaders voice had pitch and went really high and low, sustained, dynamic that takes skill and practice and for many is not doable at all. The songwriting is good, the video is too, but this band was strong across the board in this song and none of that was acknowledged
Septicflesh-the vampire from Nazareth please
You most listen Black Autumn, White Spring from Uada
All I could think about was how much like Slumber's Distress that guitar riff is. @VinandSori You guys should listen to it and compare. I can't even ... I have no words
Lots of great American Black Metal bands
Power Trip - Divine Apprehension
Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
Power Trip - Crucifixation
Power Trip - Divine Apprehension
Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
Power Trip - Crucifixation
They're sending a message, not trying to make suffering look beautiful.
The message is that most people both in ancient times and modern times, because of the human nature, do all of these despicable things to each other which may look like a perfectly reasonable and justified thing to do in their mind. Then they "march into nothing" where they "belong". This is the equivalent of saying "You've made your life and other people's lives a joke, so your existence will also be a joke". It's also about people who may look like good individuals at a first glance, but they're ignorant and can't notice the actual sins they do to others, they don't care to realize. "Without remorse"... UADA have got many songs like this one, "political" in some instances. They're all but trying to send a message. It's no secret that someone who went through tough trials, suffering and tragedy can better understand those messages. They ask themselves "what's wrong with the world" and philosophical questions like that in an effort to try to understand the reasons of their misery and existence of evil in the world. Black Metal fans are usually people like that who went through a hard life and can better understand and appreciate it. Those you hear singing nonsensically about Satan and other dumb subjects in Black Metal are people who haven't gone through hardships and are into this music genre only because of the stereotypes. They think it's "cool" and "hardcore" and it increases their ego by a lot making them think they're "special" or "elite". It's also a *sexual* fetish, as much as I hate to admit, to some of them. It's thought that women or men who are into such music genre are usually very... active?😅 and you can't argue with that! How many times have you seen a brunette with pentagrams and dark tight clothing and you were attracted to her? Even if it felt wrong to some people. It's true
...but as you go into the darkness...anyone could be a true Black Metal fan. They don't have to wear any type of clothing because they don't want to show you. It could even be your friend. How do you know? Well... those people usually have a good heart for innocent things and a deep hatred for the higher powers in control.
Hey guys love your reviews! REACT TO BILLY TALENT- THIS IS HOW IT GOES
the vocalist is totally showing off in this song
Spheres of madness by decapitated
Serpentine offering by Dimmu Borgir
Do you think the creature in the video goes home after a long day creeping in the mountains and gets on Facebook? Or maybe uploads his latest haunt video to RUclips?
Infected Rain - Serendipity (Live @ S-Klub in Olomouc, Czech Republic) 2018
UADA = poor mans MGLA = poor mans Taake. You really wanna check out some gamechanging BM. React to Thorns. Probably the most gnarly, ugly, influential and best record ever to hit the BM scene. Snorre Ruch, the guy behind, is truly a geniuos. Give me Mayhems, DarkThrones, DummyBorgirs... they have nothing compered to the mighty Snorre.
Kamelot - The Haunting
Theatre of Tragedy - A Rose For the Dead
We watched What Dreams May Come during my Doctrine course in high school. The general idea was that Hell was yourself. "There is no you, there is only me" to quote NIN as my teacher did at the time. Obviously not the exact belief of Catholics, but certainly interesting. The Hell of the wife was an upside down church by the way.
Very black metal. I love it! You should look into Tiamat or Bolt Thrower. Not black metal, but awesome. \m/
Amenra - "A Solitary Reign" or "Children of the Eye."
Or really anything they've done. These are just two of the most recent video clip songs, who might I mention strike a similar feel to some of Behemoths videography,
They're very widely celebrated post-metal/doom band. Epic, melancholic, anthemic, atmospheric and compelling... As well as having some really heavy riffage. I really suggest you give them a go, as they will likely resound with you more than Cult of Luna or Neurosis did.
I've never heard of this band, but I like this song. I'll be checking em out.
You guys have a ton of requests but one day you guys could check out NOFX -The Decline it is a 18 minute punk anthem and if you decide to check it out one day who knows what you'll think anyways cheers to the both of ya.
And there is a lyric video just for you're information.
11:54 "You don't really hear solos a lot in black metal." True, but listen *more* post-2003 *Enslaved.* Man, those solos!
Judas Iscariot is another great American black metal band. I'd highly recommend their song 'In the Valley of Death, I Am Their King.'
Abaddon is the one who became one with the abyss, he is said to be so powerful both Lucifer and god prefer to keep him an ally.
You missed a very important date in Black Metal history. but whatever. what do i know?
All black metal pre 2005 is shit :D

@@frederickkorth1481 how u could expect a serious answer when u say " all black metal before 2005 is shit " haha. i mean emperor, darkthrone, burzum ( not all album i know ) bathory, diabolical masquerade indeed, sigh, abigor, ancient, arckanum, celtic frost;.....

System of a down - Mind!!!!!
Static x - skinnyman
Nine inch nails - the great below
Dethklok- impeach god 🤘🤘
Good black metal doesnt have come from Europe, it comes even out of Africa (Nishaiar, Nelecc, Krumholz) and Asia (Vallendusk, Zuriaake) to name a few. For American bands i would say, give Alda or Gallowbraid a listen.
Poland or Sweden? You kinda forgot something there buddy.
You mean Finland, right? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Y’all need to check out Apocalyptic Havoc by Goatwhore!!
Could you please react to Send Me An Angel by The Scorpions?
It is such a beautiful song, and even today I'm still trying to understand the messages.
I agree. It's a great song. They do amazing balads
I f you can please do the music video version... the live orchestra version is lovely, but the original style offers the most heart. I apologize in advance if it makes you cry. I'm a dude and I'll admit that have yet to listen to the song and not have the tears yanked out. Good luck to you if you react to the song
The Piper Never Dies - Edguy
King Diamond - A Mansion in Darkness
Fuck king diamond he's fake black metal he's garbage
Check out Ultar. Black metal band from Siberia
Loving the content
But Agalloch is also from Portland. You gotta give credit to the Pacific North West
Yeah agalloch you guys should hear, amazing musicians from Oragon.
It's not just me who thinks the thumbnail makes Sori's hair look like it's out of control.?
Inquisition - Those of the Night
Murders in the rue morgue - iron maiden
Sacrificed sons or the ministry of lost souls - Dream Theater
Jeepers, this guy's vocal range is pretty freaking awesome. Not normally a fan of black metal, but this is pretty grouse
Check out Ceremonial Castings, it's Jake's other band
