That is sweet and that exhaust note really brings back fond memories. I had two '68's when I was a youngster, one a pistol gripped 440 R/T with added six-pack, (6brl not available until 1969) and was a badass. The other was just a 318 car but was super clean and in great shape. One of the things that are missing with todays performance/muscle cars is that beautiful open exhaust note that they had. I recently bought an SRT Challenger and added SLP Loudmouth Cat-backs, and they sound great and are very close to old muscle.
Yeah Ernie I made decent money but the R/T was a great deal as I only paid 4.5K, and that was '97. The 318 Charger was my first Mopar back in 1980, and only paid 1,.600. So they were a bargain.
That 68 charger is so badass. I've owned 2 of them and was also my first car, so they are extra special to me and not a bad first car lol. The first one was just a 318 car, but had 4-speed and looked really tough jacked up with a set of fat 50,s in the back lol. Although the 2nd was an RT with build 440 and an added six pk, plus 4-speed that was a bruit and very quick. Oh yeah it was a lot of fun to drive, and wish that I would have kept that one 💔
You need to wake up to the sound of a "dragster" in the morning to fuel your day you motor head. LOL!🤣🤣 Ya looking for another Charger 68, 69 or 70? Does it need to be an Charger R/T?
A deep gutteral sound came from within me when I heard that Charger start....like my caveman DNA was being stimulated....my inner peace was disturbed, and I love it! I hope one day to own one of my own......

I loved the car BUT I would have put chrome Classic Creager's (sp?) on it and not brushed aluminum Centerline rims. It was hot at the time and STILL looks a lot better to this day!

Looks and sounds great. I don't care for vinyl roofs on muscle cars of any make. To me the vinyl should have been reserved for the luxury type cars. It's like putting headers on a fleetwood. Just seems out of place. I know when they came factory with one that it is easier to replace the roof with a new one than it is to remove all evidence of them, but I would go with the extra labor when restoring a muscle car. I like to see that roof shine to help highlight the shape of the body. They are a little better when they are body color but I still don't care for them.
I have been a classic Cadillac owner and lover forever, but the '68 Charger is probably favorite automotive body style of all time, better than the '69 (because of the solid front grill and the tail lights). On this vehicle, I think I would change the wheels, there's something that's not doin it for me, lol, too much of a fan of originality I guess.
Listening to an idling 440 carbureted V8 like this one is like scratching an itch, it's SOOOO gooddddd!
She is beautiful. I'm glad she's found an owner that loves her and cares for her.
Oh yes Absolutely
I think 1968 was the prime year for many muscle cars
1969 was even better.

68 was good, but the nuanced changes in 69 were pretty great
Its not only aesthetically good looking its iconic to America's growth throughout the decades from hollywood to family memories. Love it

Look up the 1970 cudas

Of the 68,69, and 1970 the 68 Charger is by far the best looking one !
