It is not about the spikes themselves, it is (most likely) a way for Blizzard to introduce team color to them (Like the originals have, but those are too small)

yaknow whats sad about this... everyone else is talking about the golems having too many spikes but the battle golems don't have enough spikes... That and they look like they're made of clay now.. not steel.

there's some gameplay with the dark ranger out right now, Sylvannas will get her own undead model I guess

I don't think enough people appreciate how much effort they put into this. So many on RUclips are so negative its infuriating.

Even when they are putting the effort in to distinguish models and creep types, when original Warcraft literally reused assets. The amount of effort being put into this to make Reforged into its own world is amazing and underappreciated. Instead entitled people bitch and moan about the dumbest things.
Its one thing to not like something because its just bad (The Voidwalkers look like melting icecream, even when compared to the WoW Voidwalkers they look bad) but most of the time people just find the dumbest things to complain about.

i really dont like how when they attack they kinda get into each others body. There is something very off about attack nimations.
Gotta love how each class and level of creep has its own distinct model now. They really are going further than I expected with Reforged. Also, DAMN, those flesh golems look so grotesque (in a good way), like they belong in Diablo more than Warcraft. I love it
I was gonna post this comment on every level, haha. I agree 100%, they surprised me in a great way. I'm really hoping now, though, that they also redo the projectiles and non-voice lines sounds. They are both too dated and don't fit in with these new, next-freaking-level models.

they needed a distinction anyway, there's no way Chen and those pandaren were from the exact same race. Having them be an unevolved form is much better.
It doesn't really make sense when Chen is also in the game.
I'm really glad the updated Zergling and hydralisk models are based of OG starcraft art.
the zergling head is all wrong to be based off the art, it looks closer to the starcraft2 model then it does the starcraft 1 art, and the hydralisk is just straight lifted from starcraft2
@@ZergS4uc3 did you see the forearms and how the scything talons were replaced with small clawed hands? The posterior limbs end in webbed feet rather than the odd ones given in SC2? The hydralisk is a mix, I'll give ya that. At least they stuck to one talon per dorsal limb, and the scutigera segments have the outward spikes, much like the brood war, where in SC2 they taper off as the body does
Don't you mean Starcraft Remastered, especially the hydralisk. They are far more menacing
@@dzalva1434 no I'm talking brood war. I should also point out im going by their in-game sprites, not the 3-D models they used (aka hydralisk-headed zergling, and the smooth-tailed /simplistic pronotum hydralisk)

I do sort of love how all the bandits have some distinct characteristics. I can imagine them all plotting out their next big robbery, all with a different approach to add to their plan of action.
The hydralisk model is still broken.
You mean because it doesn't use the obvious weapons; the gigantic claws? Or because of the missing particles and projectile?

Man I prefer the old bandit lord love to make him some kind of Elite knight but now i wonder will they add Elite knight model due to bandit lord model used alot in rexxar campaign as an elite knight
They should make him wear the shield on hand not in the back.
i'm pretty sure they will make a separate model for that unit

- Mud, Rock and Granite golems. Their crystals are too big and reddish (IMHO)

I think they want to further contrast the player colors even with neutral creeps
I believe those are the player colours. He's player red, so the crystal is red. Would be blue for player blue and so on. But I do agree that it's a bit too in your face
The crystals make it easier to recognize which player is using a golem
Water elementals are bad. I just like that old water texture.

I kind of hope the campaign adds Arcane Golems for the Silvermoon levels. It would make a lot of sense lore-wise.
Bandits before: Wears the same fully amor type that looks like somekind an army in different nation
Bandits Now: Looks even better but the melee type looks like a viking
More like... The higher in Rank you go, the less practical armoue you wear.
(And don't get me started on Bandit Lord's axe! It's short handle makes it look like a hecking knuckleduster!)
ah sorry but the golems at 2:08 are a bit disappointing for me. i really liked the style of the old ones. But im generally really happy with pretty much all other models!
Dark wizard looks cooooo
Bears and pandas look just too antropomorphic, original models, how crude they may be still represent wild animals
i like the look of flesh golem. undead abomination, (abomination voice set needed) part war golem.
I'm amazed no one commented about how creepy the sludge mobs looked, must've purged it from their memory

I will miss the old design. It was really cool. New ones are ok but I'm not that much of a fan. I wish we could have both in game so then everyone is happy.
I hope their attacks vary a bit in the final game. Everything just punches or bites. For example I liked the original sludge beasts more, when they would attack with their tentacles.
It's apparently cross-playable between Reforged and Classic, so they do have to match timings as well, so I can forgive them for that.
Look at some actual finalized models, not datamined shit like this.
The finalized ones have various attack animations, heavy weight on appropriate attacks, ect. These are just unfinished things people are digging up before Blizzard is ready to show it off.

WOW I thought they would put female bandits, but hey. You never know maybe they will appear in some future.
I really liked the assassin, the hood and the mouth cover, they give it an air of mystery, in fact it reminds me of the new Horadrims of Diablo 3, especially Lorath Nahr, who wears a hood and similar clothing. A reference maybe? Although they have a wild air, like some barbarians, they reminded me a little of the Vrykul.
The new Battle Golems ... resemble those built by the black iron dwarves, not bad but I would have preferred them more metallic, not so much carved stone ...

Even with as much effort they are putting into the models, you can't expect every one to get a female counter part like Centaur or Satyrs did.
@@rdsasuke1 Well, I expected female thieves, because in wow, they exist; In addition to that in some forums a "Blackmailer" and a "Temptress" were mentioned that could well be names of the succubi or thieves.
The war golem look so different i hate it
Me too, while it was a very basic design I always liked the look of the original war golem. They just made him look like an entirely new different thing. Same with the flesh golem.

The Dark Wizard and Golems though are very cool.
I know I saw a hydromancer model, Blizzard probably hasn't finished the entire roster yet.
Nothing can beat original Golem and Infernal. They were my favourite characters from old WC3.

I will admit some of these modesl look good while others are a bit Eh to me.
I find it weird how the art style isn't consistent with Warcraft 3 or World of Warcraft. Some of it is just way to over-designed.
Good to know I'm not alone here. Individually, the models look amazing, but in the gameplay videos it kinda makes it a little over the top and a little too shiny.

Mud golem looks weird with giant red crystals poking out of him, they should definitely remove those red crystals.

See that's exactly what I hate about them. They look too much like Abominations now - In the campaign they are used as menacing creatures. Now they look like the Undead Dopey versions. These monsters were made by wizards not by ghouls.
Im confused, zerglings and hydralisks on warcraft was always a intentionally "cross-universe" with Starcraft?

No, just easter eggs. I remember the Hydralisk as a hidden character in the original NE campaign, also in the Credits video fighting against Terran Marines

Sure the new war golem looks are neat but are practically nothing like the original, every other model I've seen has at minimum some resemblances at least, all these guys share is the name and stats.
I still feel like these models get an unfair amount of hate. Sure some of the models are downgrades, like how the lava spawn and fire elementals don’t have their effects, but I still see a lot of love and care put into these models. If they had more effects, better shading and if the environment had the same level of efforts put into the models, it would be quite wonderful
I think these models are starting to look a little too good. Some of them are putting old WoW assets to shame. Especially ones like the Bandit Lord. Why can't my orc warrior have that suit for t'mogs?! Also, why can't my main have that mount?

EDIT for some reason the old engine can do a moving texture but the new one can't, making the Elementals looks like a colored clay.

I'm not a fan of how dark everything is, and WHY did they remove all the transparency from the elemental enemies? The old water elementals looked like they were an amorphous mass of water, the new ones look like they're made of plastic.
The red spikes on the golems kinda threw me off, but then i realized the spikes weren't red, it was just team colour, they will be a dark grey ingame as creeps, so i feel they will look better lol, like sharp rocks sticking out which makes sense for golems.
The melee bandits looks like Chaos Marauders from Warhammer Fantasy.
The Brigand looks like a pirate and the Assassin looks like...well...an assassin.
Marine? Fel Space Orc? Sam? Kobold Shoveler? Legion Archer? Chaos Orc Thrower? Lots of them not here, or not in the game?

everything has orc shoulder pads and it just doesnt look like a warcraft game, the charm is gone, just like the story is being retconed for no reason so too is the art
I hope they have the original war golem in there somewhere. Maybe updated but close to what it was. New one is ok but old was way way better.

I know many will be against me but, I would look to see how wow looks with this art style. A sort of semi-realistic cel-shaded world with great detail in areas but still feeling a bit cartoony like how the elementals/ orcs look.
I wonder if it's possible to make a private wow server and replace some models with these warcraft 3 reforged ones? Is that even possible? I'd love to see what the world would look like!

I dislike the Hydralisk ears. Why are they puffed out while idle?

Upon looking at this game, it keeps giving me mixed feelings.
From the models, you have realistic and detailed Unreal engine models and cartoony Unity models, all mix in one big cluster. I know that the models aren't finish, but, just by the models direction, it can already give you a brief vague image of this games direction. The clunky animation and projectile coming out of who knows where is still present.
I am afraid that this new and improved graphics will make the game look shitty due to it's aging game engine. The overlapping and clunky animation and limited fps was acceptable during the old times, but now it will look out of place.
Will despite all of this worries, I've already readied my wallet for the day it will be release.
So now zerglings will look better in Warcraft than in Starcraft
