I've driven both and the Mercedes A45s felt faster, some RUclips videos have the A45s faster than the RS3 see Carwow recent comparison and also Jo Achilles roll out race.... so it's not a big surprise
You’re right…. I Think the actual 0-60 figures at least, are marginally but consistently in the A45S favour but 1/4 mile marginally in RS3 (Sportback) favour…

All your cheap splitters, spoiler and diffuser adds more drag on the straights and slowing the car down plus the bigger wheels doesn't help neither. RS3 and A45s are so closely match performance wise so every little counts.
Correct, thought he was a racing car. Knows nothing about aerodynamics, weight and wheel size affects a cars performance a lot

I think the gear ratios are different, Audi seems to shift at 5500-6000 where as the merc revs out to 7200 so as that Audi is shifting more might add the gap in the rolling race, also 5 pot is laggy engine but still a class one

You must be hard core Mercedes fan. Who would choose 2.0 liter 4 cyl engine that will last for 120 000km with shitty sound instead of 2.5l 5cyl with R8 sound which is 10 times more reliable..

Tuned. The new rs3 is both quicker and faster than the A45s. This video is bogus . The rs3 has done a 3.2 0-60 and 1/4 mile in 11.3 in several different tests so that A45s is definitely not stock pulling that hard

The mileage can be the difference. Cars like this need time for the engines to loosen up. They tend to be better performers with some more miles on them.

It was a very amusing video to watch! Love the reacting of Archie. People seem to forget that not every particular care delivers exactly the same power. And perhaps the A45 added some bio ethanol which can increase the power with up to 20 hp

I just bought a 2023 facelift A45 amg s it’s faster than the rs3 421 bhp standard with 500 nmt rs3 is only 400 bhp , these cars are so closely matched I’ve come from a ttrs and the A45 feels faster , Audi people will always slate the A45 but the interior is more update in the a45 Audi looks a little dated now with there virtual dash ..

RS3 is very sensitive to fuel quality maybe AH got a bad batch of fuel….

HEY ARCHIE! Have you tried launching or roll racing in RS Torque Rear? Having more power through one set of wheels (instead of a 50/50 front-rear split in RS Performance) should theoretically make the car faster in a straight line.
RS Performance is a 50/50 front rear split and Dynamic mode sends more power to the rear. Try Dynamic for drag racing and roll racing. Use RS Performance for better cornering minimizing understeer and oversteer. ESC is automatically set to most sporty in these modes and turning it off will probably make you slower (maybe more fun on a track though).

watch the latest carwow, S8 vs RS3... the s8 has a detuned rs6 engine less power and little more weight and it beats the new rs3 mid range and off line?? God knows who drove your old c8 when you beat it.

The owner of A45s Is tuned. He is lying and take his car on dynos test. Check any other video a45s vs rs3.. rs3 destroy every single time on launch, roll and faster. If you peoples think that A45s isn't tuned then you should check carwow etc etc 😉 the owner of a45s doesn't know his car is tuned.

The A45s typically will beat a RS3 from a roll from the turbo lag. From a dig RS3 normally beats the 45s
The two cars are very closely matched so something isn’t right with this, could be a tuned ,Eric even though they say it isn’t or those wheels on the RS3 are bigger but for me it should be a close race that could go either way

Aha! When a 45 S AMG beats the new RS 3 it must be tuned! Why??? A 45 S makes 421 PS and 500 Nm, the new RS 3 400 PS and also 500 Nm. For me it´s not surprising that the 45 S is a bit faster than the RS 3!

Not all engines need running in. Having said that, more miles will loosen up then engine and will deliver more performance with some more miles on it.

the rs3 has a big turbo with more turbolag ... It's made like this because it's storically part of the rs3 character to have lag and then a big turbo kick .. it's all purposedly made like this
The add on kit, bike in the back, tyre pressure, poor fuel quality will do it O reckon. Not sure if the a45s AMG is chipped though, the way it pulled hard makes me think something is not right in the Merc 🙏

The A45S is a seriously fast hatchback but if it’s stock it still shouldn’t be able to walk the RS3 like that. I’m a self proclaimed Audi fanboy, but that seemed a little sus from the Merc either way. 😂

Stop doing racing if you don’t have a timing light because we obviously see neither of you going at the same time equal times .. in order to do a true fair comparison.. plus both cars need to be from factory because I’ve known assholes that said there cars were stock other then exhaust and rims only to find out they have had a time that gave them an extra 100 horses , so the only way to prove a real comparison is stock from factory
Before you turn your other RS3 into a Halfords Bargain Bucket Special, race again, the RS3 will beat it

New rs3 is both quicker and faster than the A45s. If the A45s is beating the mew rs3, either its a horrible start or the a45s is tuned. When in Dynamic mode which is the mode it should be in for drag races, the A45s is not beating thr rs3 at any point

a45s is faster rolling off the mark the rs3 is quicker if you don't adjust the rpms on the a45s which u can increase rpms to 4200rpm which makes a decent difference its very close it all depends on who floors it first and also Archie cannot drive the rs3 if his life depended on it listen to him short shift xD
