Sweet, was gonna mention this: CD+SD card slots for the 7DII. Also, really wonder why less camera companies adopt the tilty-flippy screens of Canon and instead opt for either fold-up or fold-down screens. Great for a budding vlogger or photographer, but once you start adding a flash, microphone, or just for ease of use if you're shooting long exposure at an odd angle (like astrophotography), it becomes crucial.
I have a 7Dmkll and I will not be selling it yet! I’ve shot weddings, sports, product, portraits and landscapes. Once you’ve learned the extensive focusing system it’s awesome.
Also, regarding Sony having a "poor APS-C lens lineup" this is only partially true. When Tony says "lens lineup" he's basically talking about lenses that he cares about, ie zooms and very long primes. It's like standard and wide primes, and pancakes don't exist to him and Sony has great APS-C standard and wide primes and a very good wide angle zoom.
@@andyroye5622 Same. It's also somewhat disconcerting that the 5 year old 7D Mark II has 65, all cross-type AF points and this new camera that is supposed to replace it has 45 AF points.
I understand that you think the lens selection for the Canon M system is limited, but it does have some very good ones ! The 11-22mm is very sharp ! The 22mm f2 is great and the 32mm 1.4 is amazing !
Always thought the same, if you know what you want in lenses the ef-m cameras are amazing, especially for travel. The 11-22 and the 32 1.4 is perfect for me on the m6ii
I have an M6 at this time, APS-C, 24 MP. I like it a lot. Light, portable, lots of nice photos and memories. Canon M6II is exactly what I wanted in terms of upgrades, a higher number of pixels. I am 90% sure i will buy the new one as soon as it comes out and get my hands on it to see how it works. Basically if the image quality is higher then I am in for it. However I wonder if now the pixels being smaller, how would that affect the signal to noise compared with the M6.
Just got an 80D back in Nov 2018, the face detection, weather proofing and 10fps alone are enough for me to upgrade. 4K isn't a really big factor but it's there I guess. I'm glad after having some experience I can figure out if this is a good upgrade for me. You bet I'll selling my 80D in for the 90D.
The 4K "through image processing" is almost certainly going to be a pixel binning (or skipping) of the full "6.9K" equivalent sensor into a "3.4K" intermediate resolution. That's still pretty good, and would be a massive improvement over 1080p in previous cameras.
2 memory cards faild on me in the past 5 years, one of them had over 1000 pictures from a football game, I supposed to send them to news paper, but by the end of the day with all that effort I did not have any picture to send to what supposed to be my new work place, it was poor qualty sd card, bit the second card was 64GB Sony oem card. Now always shoots on 2 when I have the option
I do mostly macro photography in natural lighting (insects, plants, etc.), along with some wildlife shooting. Portrait and landscape is secondary for me and I couldn't care less about the video. A cropped sensor with 32mp and 10 fps is great, as long as it's not at the expense of diminished dynamic range and more high ISO noise. I'm going to wait until there are some hard figures and test photos. Until then, I'm sticking with my trusty 70D.
Have the M6 Mk 1 and very happy with it. I use the Viltrox speedbooster adapter to use my DSLR lenses and I can get the same photos now as my old 6D. I have the old EVF on the M6 and it’s more than good enough to replace an OVF, I’m never going back. Dual Pixel can be slow for stills if you always rely on face detect. But if you switch it to single point mode, or limited focus area mode, it’s as fast a DSLR. It’s more than fast enough to use for my newspaper assignments. Like using ANY camera, the main thing is to learn the camera’s quirks and you can get great photos. If you can’t get good photos with a camera, it’s probably user error.
Couple old lenses could quite *match the 90D's resolution:* Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 (general\portraits) and Tamron 60mm f/2 (portraits\macro), both with OK AF. And for telephoto the native 55-250 STM(!) is great and will probably cope with 32Mpx. Still, the camera sucks due to Canon cripple-hammer.
For sharp EF-S lenses, I think you are right for the most part. The 60mm F2.8 macro probably will kill it on the 90D, its wicked sharp, great lens. The 17-55mm f2.8 is in bad need of an update, which could probably make a difference if they would do it. I am not holding my breath on it though, I think they are done supporting EF-S. I wish they would copy the Sigma f1.8 zooms; man a native focus version of those would kill, even without IS.
No mention of the "pre-shooting"?????? It shoots 1/2 a second BEFORE you hit the shutter. It seems like that would be great for kids, sports and pets????? (the pre-shot buffer is shown in the dog jumping in the water image review at 15:47).
Tony, agreed it is a great camera photography wise. But for video, it is a step backwards. With the specifications, we only have one mode with autofocus - 1080@30 - unless they are being purposefully unclear, but these guys use the cripple hammer too often for me to assume it will have 60fps with AF, or even 90fps. This is a step back from the 80D. 4K30 likely won't have AF - but we will see. If the camera is not capable of more video modes, I'll buy a used 80D to wait for the A7S3.
If Canon's official announcement of the EOS 90D were to be joined to the surprise introduction of an upgraded EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS II USM Lens and something like a new EF-S 60-180mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens, both featuring Air Sphere Coating (ASC) and enhanced weather-proofing, it would go a long way toward affirming Canon's commitment to APSC DSLRs.
Thank you again Tony! I've had several people ask me about upgrading from the ti series to the 90D. They just got them this year. I let them know that they need to get to know their cameras first to know what they want in a camera. You always have good information and I always send them your way! I'm going to be working on a self portrait this coming week, too late for your show though. I'll do what I can. I've practiced all the elements, but haven't been able to practice all of them in one shot. We'll see. Wish me luck. Thank you again Tony!
Tony, the 11fps in LV isn't achieved with electronic shutter. It's still mechanical, but it doesn't need to wait for mirror flip so it's slightly faster
My sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 has auto-focus issues also.. native canon aps-C lenses were sharper for me, which was a huge disappointment as I’ve heard so many good things about this sigma lens...
I understand Canon does not offer EF-S (Native APS-C) pro grade lenses, but all the EF lenses will fit and work great, including all the Canon L line lenses. The same happened with my old 40D and my 80D (I love both cameras!!). Am I wrong? Excellent review!
That's one of my issues with this non-hands-on spec-sheet review as well. Canon didn't need to develop EFS-specific pro-grade lenses when their EF lenses perfectly fit the EFS bodies. That's arguably the whole point in using the same mount and flange focal distance, plus it comes with the added benefit that an enthusiast that wants to first step-up their lenses to professional levels can still use their existing cameras, and can later step up to professional cameras without having to re-buy all their glass. Of course they will have to consider the now-gone crop-factor, but that seems to be a small price to pay compared to having to re-buy all of one's high-end lenses when upgrading to a higher-end camera. I'm actually not as impressed by the "review". It's a spec-sheet comparison. They did not have samples of the cameras to try, and I have to suspect that they were not invited to Canon's press-junket where several other photograhper-reviewers took test shots at a race track. It almost feels like they were denigrating the cameras because of the lack of invitation. Lots of things can look good on-paper, but a true review requires real experience, and without their using the cameras and then comparing their results to other cameras it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
The M mount is somewhat popular in europe because of the cheaper price compared to Sony or Fuji. Also the buyers don't really want more than the kit lenses, they are good enough and compact for travel
Thanks for the review. Do you think the 90D is also an upgrate for the canon 7d Mark II? Can you do maybe an battle between the 90D and the 7D markt II? which one do you reccormand for shooting sports. How does both perform in low light? I'm now shooting sports indoors and outdoors with the 5D mark II and looking for a upgrate specific for sports, budget around 1000-2000 Euro
Kinda funny how I was right and wrong predicting the 90D. Yeah, I was wrong thinking the 90D should have gone the mirrorless route. But what I was correct about was the severe lack of attention Canon gives to their APS-C lens lineup.
The M-mount is not likely to disappear. The M50 has been amazingly popular around the world, and I suspect the M6 II will also be a hit. There is an unfortunate US-centric view that any device that is not popular in the US is a dud, but the US represents only 5% of the world’s population, so it can be pretty meaningless to suggest failure based on US sales. It has been my observation that interest in the M system has been accelerating since the release of the M50. I personally think that the A6400 is a much better camera, but it seems that a lot of people are swayed by the lower price and find the M50 good enough for their needs. The M6 II specs show Canon is just as committed to the M cameras as they are to the 70D/80D/90D line. M lenses do not matter. Everyone just uses EF and EF-S lenses with the M cameras anyway.
BROis A very rapidly shrinking percentage. American’s don’t seem to realise that their economic role in the world is no longer the dominant one that it once was. In this case we have the peculiar situation that Americans have been a lot slower than the rest of the world in adopting mirrorless camera form factors. There is an attitude amongst American bloggers that the M mount is a failure, but cameras like the M50 have been popular outside the US, especially in Asia and Europe. There needs to be more awareness within the US of what is happening the other side of the US border.
@@artistjoh seems like you're making political points with economic roles and dominance, rather than addressing the simple fact which I stated. Sorry buddy, I'm not here for politics.
Hi Chelsea and Tony, could you talk about the old manufacutures Nikon and Canon, please? Is it stil clever to buy their DSLRs? And which lenses are the best, which ones are at a very attractive price? Could you give some recomandations for Fujifilm lenses? Thanks
Hi Tony. I am really hesitating between purchasing the 90D or a Nikon D750. Which one should I choose? I must say that I want to propose photo and video work to clients... PLEASE HELP!
Canon 17-55 2.8 IS received the highest quality score from Photozone, even better than many of its full frame L lenses. I disagree with your claim that Canon does not have any good APSC lens!
@@robstyles2675 their 10-18mm and 10-22mm lenses are fantastic, too, and can give you professional photos. They don't really have any efs telephoto lens, however
@@jn3750 both of those lenses I've used and they are not fast lenses. The do not invest in premium fast glass enough in their EFS lines. Sigma even made a 1.8 zoom. Canon could easily make a 2.0 zoom that I think would sell well. Or refresh the 17 55 to modern standards. I've used 1755 it's a good lens with alot a lens Creep and image stabilizer usually dies
What you overlooked is the 90D is, in fact, the first hybrid system. That would make Canon the first to make such a camera. They beat Nikon in bringing out this technology to the consumer market. This camera was not made for video, as there are tons of mirrorless cameras available for those that need better video quality. It’s good to see a camera maker like Canon taking the lead once more. I won’t be giving up my D7200, but I think the 90D will prove itself (the one card slot was not a bright idea). Tony, you need to put down your Sony, get the 90D and take more pictures, and less video.
The most exciting thing about this is that it indicates that the 6D mk 3 must be pretty close (only a year or so away?)... And as tempting as Canon cameras are, maybe I'll buy it just before the 6D mk 4 is released.
Hi Tony! Could you make another video about why Sigma's very sharp lenses don't focus reliably on Canon cameras? Would love to know more details before deciding if I want to buy the 85mm or not ^^
Seriously. I've been researching the sigma 18-35 f/1.8 for weeks now and his review of it was also very favorable of it and did not mention any problem with AF (that I recall, I'm going to go watch it again), so to hear him say they have stopped using it is both shocking and disappointing. I need more info.
@@kristinm.3243 Yes both the Sigma f1.8 APSC zooms from reports are very sharp but the AF quality is unreliable especially on Nikon bodies. Alot of people are using them with metabones adapters on GH5/5S M4/3 bodies for video but l think predominantly in MF.
If you were buying the 90D and were serious about portraits, wildlife or whatever, you'd just ignore the Canon APSC lenses and use the high quality full frame lenses to match your requirements. That's what Tony will do when he tries the 90D for wildlife (just like you'd use the Nikkor ff lenses on the D500 for birds & wildlife.) If you HAD to have Irene Rudynk style f1.2/f1.4 bokeh portraits then you'd get the full frame body - not the APSC. I'd still have a 5Dmk3 if I were a Canon shooter cos I'm not bothered about the modern fancy features.
I just bought a six month old Cannon 80D from my camera shop. It's way beyond my expectations apart from no stabilization. Not really annoyed, I didn't wait to buy the 90D.
Concerning card failures 18:18, you’re talking specific of SD card failures. Can you please add to those statistics in which point of time they happened, meaning “SD card out of the box” or after hundreds of hours and ten thousands of pictures taken? I am shooting since 2003 or so digitally with SD cards (prior that have been big CF, because probably all digital cameras offered only CF card slots) and had no defective SD card yet. Do you have additional statistics on XQD cards? Due to lightweight but superb Z 24-70F4 “kit” lens, I purchased the Z6 and this has become my favourite camera/lens combination and I successfully use it also on weddings. I am risking this, because I shoot since 2016 D500 and since 2017 D850 both equipped with XQD and SD card (for backup) and never faced any issues nor with XQD neither with SD. You do so much excellent statistics, would be great if you already have some on XQD failures.
bjurra The majority of photographers that are having card failures don’t know that software to recover data has a Very high success rate!. On top of that they are not using professional grade SD cards what can you do for silly people 🤔
Thanks for the video, I thought I made a mistake by buying an X-T3 this Spring, with Canon releasing these cameras. I am also about to pull the trigger for a 50mm f2.0 and was waiting to see what Canon is releasing. After your video, tommorow I will order an XF 50mm f2.0 :). The X-T3 and Fuji lenses are freaking sharp and those buttons on the camera ...
Greetings Tony and chelsea.... when will you guys do a turtorial for the 90d ..? I'm looking forward to see yours..you guys really simplified things for the beginner ..!
The question here is who is this camera for. Is it for videographers? No. Is it for vloggers? Maybe for some. Is it for arquitecture or landscape photography? Definitely not. Is it for portrait photography? No. Is it for sports or wildlife photographers? YES! I'm a critter stalker and I really like the features of the 90D. I think it'd get along just fine with my tele and macro lenses, and most importantly, GET THE JOB DONE. Yes, it's not a mirrorless, but I don't really need an EVF, I like OVF much better, and I don't need a preview of my exposure or having the histogram in my viewfinder to know what I'm doing. Yes, it's not a silent shooter, but when you are behind a super telephoto that's irrelevant. Yes, it doesn't have IBIS -which I would have liked-, but the IS in my lenses have never let me down. Same goes to the lack of a second card slot. I shot with no posibility for redundancy for 20 years, now that I have it in my other cameras it gives me peace of mind, for sure, but luckily for me, I have never experience a card malfunction (cannot say the same about the film years). In a nutshell, I think there is space for the EOS 90D in my camera bag.
@@youknowwho9247 I agree, it would have been nice to see a 7D MkIII. I think the pop-up flash in the 90Dis unnecessary, and the lack of a second card slot is an inconvenience, one I can live with as I said in my original comment, but an inconvenience nonetheless
@@alfredosolano8324 To be honest I neither care about the flash nor is the single card slot a deal breaker for me. What I would have liked is a better focusing system and faster shooting speed. I already own a D500 and a D850. The 90D would be better than both for wildlife in terms of resolution, but it's not faster and the Nikons come with a much more sophisticated focusing system. If this was the 7D III we're getting I'd buy one to replace my D500. But as it stands, I'm not sure the 90D would be worth it.
Because it's very rare for anyone to actually record for 30 minutes straight. And if you have to go longer, which will bore anyone watching your videos, you can just stop and start again.
@@unbreakablealex2732 not battery life: the 80 d can film for ages on one battery. I just restart at every song when filming concerts, and I record looooooong sessions with no issues
Yeah i asked myself the same question.. he makes it sound like you can only use APS-C designed lenses for that. im using fullframe lenses on my 80D for ages and its great. especially lenses like the 50mm or 35mm
christopher holbrook because of the cropped sensor 1.6x. Doesn’t matter for those who shoot wildlife/sports/portraits but those who need a wide angle perspective they’re limited by how far they can go. I mean yes you can get a 16-35 lens but that converts to a 25.6-56mm lens that might not be wide enough for some people. In addition, maybe some people can’t afford full frame glass as well
@@Faded.Visuals Actually there are some very good 10-xx mm APS-C lenses. Just not from Canon. See Tamron 10-24VC HLD. Also did not have any problem with the Sigma 18-35 on the 80D.
I´ll be upgrading from my Rebel T6i next year but to the 80D, not 90D, which will surely be out of my price range. Besides, do I need 32 megapixels? I don't think so. 10 frames per second would be nice, but 7 fps will be more than sufficient for my needs. I´m a stills shooter, so 4k video means nothing to me. Basically, just because there's a newer, higher-spec model coming out doesn't stop the 80D from being a great camera, and I hope to see some price reductions on it.
Ok. The 90d has 30.5 crop and the 5d mark iv has 30.4 full-frame. Would the 90d be a better buy? Seems like its just changing the numbers on your lenses, like 100mm becomes a 160mm and so on. How is it going to differ in the printed finish line?
@@ytr8989 I agree. So if I use a 50mm on a cropped 90d = 80mm should be almost the same as the 85mm on a ff 5d mark iv. Now granted not all lenses are the same so without adding in that factor in hypothetical theory should be about the same minus 5mm. But the ff sensor is significantly larger so more light is in fact hitting it. But with more Megapixels per square inch will that make a difference? So in that what does the size factor make a difference in the end on larger prints.
Hi, I shoot a load of wildlife and birds in flight already own a 5DMarkiii, 7dMarkii and I am looking for a second APS-c body for a secondary wildlife and travel camera. Would you recommend the 90D over the 7D Mark ii?
Hi Tony, what do you at 10:18 mean with “...too flaky...”? My mother language is German and this word I fail to translate into something that makes truly sense, even knowing the context. Thanks for help
That EOS M6 would be so much more appealing with a proper side flip screen and a viewfinder that doesn't take up the hot shoe... it might be a bit of a dead end, but an aps-c mirrorless camera with the 22mm f/2 and 32mm f/1.4 lenses Canon have available would make a pretty nifty little system.
All I've heard it's that it shoots 120fps in HD and 30 fps in 4k. Is there 24 fps at all in HD? is there IBIS? CAN YOU LOCK THE SHUTTER ANGLE TO 180 DEGREES? i need to know.
Very interesting video, from the photos and the leaked promos is it possible to tell if the 90D has removed the terrible SCN and the other crazy modes from the dial, like Toy Camera etc. they had no place on the 80D - if they remove that junk I might consider an upgrade. Thanks for the videos.
I dont understand the complain that no really sharp lenses are available - the d90 fits ef-s and ef mount lenses and there are some pretty good ef lenses - or did I misunderstand something?
wow very good for the 5 people world wide who will buy this (actually there will be more but i hope that they will fail finally with selling people outdated sh!t)
Tony, how can you know that the 90D will have weak eye detect? Have you tested it? I don't think so. Also, you said Canon 90D doesn't have any app. Take a second look at the leaked 90D video. It shows wireless transfer to you modile device.
I may get the Canon 90D for its extra pixels (I crop a lot almost always). It may seem strange but the main reason I use my Canon 77D is the Sigma 18-300 OS is incredibly useful to me and sharp compared to all of its counterparts (I used to use the Tamron 16-300 VC but the Sigma is much sharper for me). It would be great if Sigma would come out with an APS-C E-mount version of the 18-300 to use on the coming Sony 6700. Canon sensors blow highlights too easily for me so I have to expose for the highlights more than my Sony. Good news that megapixels are going up.
Actually, right now I am considering the Sony A7 IV and using the Sigma 18-300 on it and crop mode should get me about 26 MP in crop mode. I have used it on my Sony A7III and DR and sharpness was great but 11 MP not much. So, 26 MP with DR of 15 vs Canon 90D 32.5 MP with 13.5 DR. Could use the $1200 for the 90D toward the Sony A7IV along with selling my EOS R and Sony A7III. Interesting to think about.
I just hope these things don't overheat like the new g7x. At some point in this spec race someone is gonna need to add an exhaust fan and ditch weather sealing. Agreed that DSLRs are the best bang for buck. Using my 6D mark I until it dies since it still takes pictures.
Canon is getting ready to drop two outdated cameras, the 90D is a VCR at this point. This will be the point were Canon starts a sharp decline. This release is a clear indication that Canon is doubling down on outdated features, and going against the hybrid style camera hoping they push people to buy a dedicated video camera. This release is a lot like the final BlackBerry phones, when it was so obvious they just lost track of reality and the market.
@Tony regarding lenses - how long has it been since those Sigma lenses (18-35mm; 50-100mm) have been tested on new Canon cameras? Are the complaints still coming?
Hey everyone what would be the best camera for filmmaking and photography for max £1000 budget, I plan on making short films for travel so I need good slow motion but also a great camera for photos too, I’ll be vlogging a little bit so decent IBIS would be great I also would need a camera with the ability to be remote controlled for video and photos by a smartphone or Bluetooth connection remote shooter as I’ll be travelling solo. I considered buying 2 bodies 1 Sony body and 1 canon body as these are popular brands but I don’t know what to pick the 1dx mark II is too expensive and the a7 markiii is also too expensive what should I buy ?
The criticism about the unavailability of good EF-S lenses to take advantage of the sensor resolution makes no sense. EF lenses will work natively, and the crop sensor will receive only light from the best part of those lenses.
Right now Canon are developing product specifically to make amusing content for Camera Conspiracies

Tony, the glasses make you look like Clark "Superman" Kent from my childhood!!!
Hi Tony and Chelsea, can you please make a tutorial how to take sharp photos with canon eos 90D + kit lens.
Choosing between 9D and M6 Mk II specifically for sport/action and animal photography so this is really helpful!
FYI My 7D2 has a pop up flash. Should I send it back?
Japan loves the tiny cameras, the EOS-M line is a top seller there. I think they will continue to service that home market.
Tony, the 11fps in LV isn't achieved with electronic shutter. It's still mechanical, but it doesn't need to wait for mirror flip so it's slightly faster
small rig has made a very small adapter for the a6400 that puts the mic in the same spot
Is this it from you on the 90D or do you plan on fully reviewing it.
Neopulse00 who uses APSC lenses anyway?
EF-S lenses are crap. I use a 7D mkII and only have L glass. Works beyond fine
Please do a Canon 90d + 100-400 vs Nikon D500 + 200-500 Comparison for wildlife. Plus information about dynamic range, max buffer etc. Thanks.
And ...Sharpness Comparison too please. Seems Canon hasn't removed the AA filter on the 90D.
Agreed
Hi Tony, many people said that there are issue with the viewfinder focusing on 90D,
which is not accurate as liveview focus .
Chan Frank yes i have seen reviews to that effect, but could it be user error?
@@martinhommel9967 Some said that due to the defaut itr focuing or may be can solve with that function disable.
Regarding the topics to pair what lenses to pair with the 90D, cant you pair it with an L lense? I thought APS-C cameras are EF mount compatible?
They are compatible. Could be that he is thinking about the 1,6x crop.
US may represent only 5% of the world population, but it represents a much higher percentage of camera sales.
Canon doesn’t fail to underwhelm ^^
That's 1 lens
Which one is better canon 90D and canon EOS RP mirrorless?
The most exciting thing about this is that it indicates that the 6D mk 3 must be pretty close (only a year or so away?)... And as tempting as Canon cameras are, maybe I'll buy it just before the 6D mk 4 is released.
Does 90D still have the AA filter? Are its pictures visibly less sharp because of it compared to for example Nikon's latest dslr models?
In live view you use the info button to change the face to eye.
I'd still have a 5Dmk3 if I were a Canon shooter cos I'm not bothered about the modern fancy features.
hai Tony is Canon 90D worthed to buy know in late 2020 ? i'm for enthusiast user .... is 90D can use canon EF EFS lens ?
I just bought a six month old Cannon 80D from my camera shop. It's way beyond my expectations apart from no stabilization. Not really annoyed, I didn't wait to buy the 90D.
So?
Canon does have native EF-M 32 mm f/1.4 which compares too 51 mm f/2.2 on FF though it is not cheap.
I usually just send the backup from my RP to my phone continuously, if a failing card should appear.
does it work with raw too or only jpg?
bjurra The majority of photographers that are having card failures don’t know that software to recover data has a Very high success rate!. On top of that they are not using professional grade SD cards what can you do for silly people 🤔
so with the release of 90D will the price of 80D go down??
I bought the 80D from Costco a few months ago and it was under a thousand with the full kit (2 lenses, 2 Batteries and a carry bag)
I'm looking forward to see yours..you guys really simplified things for the beginner ..!
hows canon 90d with sigma's 150-600mm C lens ? Should I go for 6d mark 2 instead ?
It does look like a great piece of kit for wildlife. Wish it was the 7D III though.
I agree. But why dis toi say it s not for landscape and architecture ?
@@youknowwho9247 I agree, it would have been nice to see a 7D MkIII. I think the pop-up flash in the 90Dis unnecessary, and the lack of a second card slot is an inconvenience, one I can live with as I said in my original comment, but an inconvenience nonetheless
My thoughts exactly. Have a 100-400 that will live on this body. Critter hunting kit!
So you have tried the 90D!?
Why does the 90D still have the 30 minute video record limit when the tax that motivated that limit no longer exists?
uesjd probably because of sensor overheating or battery life.
@@fwiler what a silly answer.
It’s because it would make the camera more expensive in Europe, the record limit is a tax thing.
No 24P in either camera?
Why not just put a full frame lens on the 90D?
Actually I have only one APS-C lens (Tamron 10-24VC HLD), the rest are ff
Good point. My favourite lens for my 7d ii is the 24-105 EF.
Depends if you need a FF, or if a crop camera fits your needs. The 200-500mm turns into a 300-750mm superzoom on my D7200.
Hi, I shoot a load of wildlife and birds in flight already own a 5DMarkiii,
7dMarkii and I am looking for a second APS-c body for a secondary wildlife and travel camera. Would you recommend the 90D over the 7D Mark ii?
Hi Tony, what do you at 10:18 mean with “...too flaky...”? My mother language is German and this word I fail to translate into something that makes truly sense, even knowing the context. Thanks for help
Flaky = unreliable, doesn’t work the way you think it should but not reliably, odd.

Will you be doing a full tutorial on the M6 Mark ii? Thanks
Face detection through OVF was already present in 7D Mark2 and other Canon DSLRs.
The 7D 1 and 2 both have a pop up flash and can both control a speedlite off camera with it.
I dont understand the complain that no really sharp lenses are available - the d90 fits ef-s and ef mount lenses and there are some pretty good ef lenses - or did I misunderstand something?

One of the most important things the 7D2 has, is a built in GPS. Wildlife togs are really going to miss it in a 90D that doesn't have one.

The ef-s 17-55 f2.8 is a nice lens, but a bit on the heavy side to use as a kit lens.
Tony, how can you know that the 90D will have weak eye detect? Have you tested it? I don't think so. Also, you said Canon 90D doesn't have any app. Take a second look at the leaked 90D video. It shows wireless transfer to you modile device.
All I want is the perfect camera!
Which doesn't exist
I have the original 7D. Should I get the 7D MK ii (the iii isn’t coming right?) or should I get the 90D? For sports.
90D, less expensive, wait to get it on black friday and new technology or a 80D, is better than the 7d
I agree canon needs to upgrade their APS C glass. Alot of their glass is dated and need a refresh into the 2010s
On the 90d does it have a stereo or mono built in mic?
I have the 70d and i like the stereo built in mic, the 80d is mono..
I imagine that you could add an external mic which could be stereo (provided the mic supports stereo).
Yes I know I can always add external mic, but the built in stereo mic 70d works for me most times with less hassle..
It might be that is shoots 6k and down samples to 4K like the Sony but highly doubtful.
