I think I agree. For me Jason added, in his playing, more of a punk element. If one thinks that they are massively influenced by Motorhead, then you do need something of a punk element.

Dudes thx Lemmy for his influence at first point. Everyone hates Lars, but eithout Lemmy Lars would play tennis and Metallica won’t exist. James sure… Kirk maybe…. Jason sure…. Cliff???? Sure…. But it’s just maybe. They were together happened what happend and….. Jason was best replacement for Cliff…. Lars is god :) and Kirk is awesome gay😁 they made the best they can to influence us. We must do the same with our lives :)

Truly one of those moments and era where they were on fire life. Newsted had a so much more in your face Bass Sound and you could actually feel it in your guts... Now Rob has maybe more technical ability but he's just a goofy player, he doesn't have a metal soul. His funk stuff is just cringe to me. And don't get me started on the weak backing vocals
