ye. it's because it has a very big contrast to the previous albums. The snare, the guitar sound. The overall album sound. The more u listen to it tho, the better it gets. The riffs are killer here. lars also performs very well. Lyrics are also very deep.
I agree! I mean, think about it. They have played their previous album styles so much (practice, recording, concerts, other live events). That gets old pretty quickly. They are creators more than just distributors. Creating the same thing over and over again with little tweaks is not enough for the creator. It's fine for the distributor and the consumer. Metallica had to move into more creativity and expression. The fans ( "consumer") just weren't ready for that. They want to hold on to the same thing that made them feel good, but with just the tweaks asking the way. That's ok too, but consumers should hold off on discrediting the album because it's not what they're used to.
5:05 - 5:35 I don't want to sound edgy or whatever, but this is exactly what i feel. It's actually comforting to know that other people feel the same things.
This song is soo good to listen to. Imo they captured this album perfectly. This song literally makes me feel like i'm not alone with my problems. No matter how famous, well known you are, depressions, anxiety, anger can affect anyone.
Because Metallica never actually changed for the worse, it's a trend, people just say shit because they hear it and the lemming affect takes over, so they repeat shit. What they do is they LIVE a period of time and experience all kinds of changes through their lives, then they go into the studio and tell us about it. Every album being different than the last. Showing through their souls, their lives during certain periods of time, and they dont give a FUCK what you or I think about it, or cutting their hair. I cant believe so many fans sold out because they cut their fucking HAIR. Back when apparently no one worried about anything except hair. Lol. But yeah, what's more metal than not giving a fuck and making the music you want to make. If they stayed the same and never cut their hair people would be bitching because they sound to much the same. Lol besides, there a reason they're the biggest metal band ever.
My dad gave 10 bucks I gambled on pool made 50 bucks (Brazilian money) then bought this album when I was 14, I identifyed my self in these lyrics, this album is part of my life, haters are always gonna hate it, but this album is great.
This is the best live version of the song and its great song. I dont need to say that the guitars on this album sounding huge and amazing . Bob Rock knows his job \m/
St. Anger has a very big contrast to the previous albums. That's why ppl weren't ready for it back in the day. The snare, the guitar sound. The overall album sound. The more u listen to it tho, the better it gets. The riffs are killer here. lars also performs very well. Lyrics are also very deep.
some of lars' best drumming but gets very underappreciated because of the snare which to me makes the album better because the aggression behind the trash can snare is fuckin amazing
I'm okay with this album. I'm a huge Metallica fan, and there are some great songs on this album. I think what the people who don't like this album really don't like is that after the Black album, Load, and Reload, the old Metallica, the metal Metallica of Kill "Em All, Lightning, Master, and Justice, was gone. This is a post-peak Metallica trying to hang on by following along with what was trendy in the early 2000s. They would make a come back with Death Magnetic and Hardwired, but they lost themselves for awhile. But that's okay too, because Load, for example, had some really fantastic stuff on it. But it was hard to hear Load or St Anger back in the day. It wasn't what was wanted. It's easier for us old school fans to appreciate that stuff today than it was back then.
In my opinion by trying to sound like nu metal and not themselves. Detuned guitars, less thrashy and groovy riffs, high snares and overwhelming cymbals and no guitar solos. Lyrically very strong, you can tell Hetfields heart was put into it.
I have to admit that it wasn't until MUCH later that I could fully appreciate this album for what it was: a full-on release of every bit of anger, rage, fear, insecurity and regret built up over decades. Being a recovering addict myself, having gone through my own personal hell by my own hands, listening back to this album is incredibly powerful and moving.
This album is the shit. When I was first learning about them I heard Metallica, Ride thr Lightning and then this in order. I was and still am in love with every form of this band.

Good lord the one of everything is just so nasty. When James starts I was like woah here we go. Then everything kicked in and I forgot how crushing this performance was from them. One of their best concerts and it was specifically for themselves. Very therapeutic
4:27 heaviest shit ever! Gave me chills when I first heard this. So much anger at that time just not used as well as it could have been. Lol still a great album compared to the "artists" out there today
The "been here before" part on the album will always be the best. That's this version's only flaw. The instrumentals and the vocals on this version are better here, I can agree with that.
Best album they did since the eighties, and the best one since then . The new stuff is very forgettable, as was the nineties rubbish . Don't understand the hate . I think the old fans would probably agree . No solos , big deal .
1:04 Been here before! This song means so much.Emotionaly Metallica sounds like soulmates!Musicaly it is free spirit of Metalica in their dark times!it could be on Justice for all album as well!
for all the shit that St. Anger gets I can relate to its core. See Hetfield get really into it in this video - this song means something to him. Which is more than I could say for their contractually-obligated thrash days of late.
If this is Metallica at their worst, it's no wonder they're one of the best of all-time.
its not their worst its way better and heavier then load/reload

Nah this album is fucking great, so different and full of raw emotion compared to anything I've ever heard.
fully agree with you. This is Metallica at their best and...frankly speaking....Kirk´s solos have never been that great, we can cope without them :-)
Agreed. Death magnetic was their worst, and that's because it was forced. They were put under the pressure of their so called fans.

Then the unnamed feeling, it comes alive. Yeah-yeah! Then the unnamed feeling takes me away. (Yeah) It takes me away! ...Get the fuck out of here. I just wanna to get the fuck away from me. I rage, I glaze, I hurt, I hate. I hate it all. Why? Why? Why me? I cannot sleep with a head like this. I wanna cry. I wanna to scream. I rage, I glaze, I hurt, I hate. I want to hate it all away!!! ...Then the unnamed feeling, (yeah) it comes alive. Yeah-yeah! Then the unnamed feeling takes me away. Then I wait for this train. Toes are o'er the line. Yea-ee-yeah. Then the unnamed feeling takes me away. Yeah, It takes me away. It comes alive. Then the unnamed feeling takes me away." \m/
Maaan! Even the bare tone of Kirk's guitar in the beginning makes it worth watching this again and again!
I love seeing how much this song helped people as it’s done the same for me. I would love to see them play it live.
this song saved my life before my diagnosis and i had no idea what was going on with me at all. i heard this and i understood someone else understood how i felt when no one else did
Great album & song
5:38 hahahahhaa I LOVE THAT PASSION !!!
The best modern Song from them IMO. Btw i'm a Fan since the early to mid 90,'s ( I love Robert but i miss Jason too!!!)
Greetings from Germany
Patrick
Best song from St Anger. Sounds amazing live.
This album is AWESOME and I don’t care
✌️😎✌️
Good lord the one of everything is just so nasty. When James starts I was like woah here we go. Then everything kicked in and I forgot how crushing this performance was from them. One of their best concerts and it was specifically for themselves. Very therapeutic
Best song off the album.
4:27 heaviest shit ever! Gave me chills when I first heard this. So much anger at that time just not used as well as it could have been. Lol still a great album compared to the "artists" out there today
I love this song so much! ❤️
I love this album. Actually very good album Imo because it so different than what anyone would normally hear.
Pretty food album after I listened to it for a year, it helped me through my worst days and the times when I was at my lowest
This song speaks volumes right now!!!,
metallicaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Listening in 2020. I hope the best for us. Unnamed world.
This DVD was the reason I fell in love with St. Anger. It felt/looked so fun to play (and it is). The actual CD/release is not that fun to listen to.
Great song. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Better here than in the album
The "been here before" part on the album will always be the best. That's this version's only flaw. The instrumentals and the vocals on this version are better here, I can agree with that.
you fool, you fool, it'll be here soon :(
It comes aliveee yeah yeah
The intro is fkkgg heavyyy !!!! Good mix
James and his last days of his old voice.
Best album they did since the eighties, and the best one since then . The new stuff is very forgettable, as was the nineties rubbish . Don't understand the hate . I think the old fans would probably agree . No solos , big deal .
I love rob getting low and dancing
I love this song.best song on St.Anger album and better than anything on 72 seasons.
first bit is good but theres good songs on 72, like room of mirrors and shadows follow
5:34 would be good place to solo
Maybe the most underrated Metallica song
LUV THIS ALBUM!
2:53 Uhh, Rob .. Wot r u doin m8
I like this better than the album version.
The Audio is so much better then the Album Version .
this is epic men ! st anger is the best numetal album
Sounds so much better with the snare up. They should do a revised version of the whole album with snare up.
exactly
@@morturiom9651 I disagree with a passion. Metallica should focus on making new content instead of focusing on the past.
@@puigi they should do that first yes.
This album sounds so much better live.
Also in my humble opinion St anger>load and reload
I dont know why people hate this album........!!!!!!!???
Thnx you for the nice volume 🔊
The pain at 5:05
